Angels on the sick floor of a first-class
Boston hospital

Original Article

Mrs. Devon has spent the last four nights at a world-class hospital in Boston, racked with a horrible coughing fit from bilateral pneumonia. Here on this hospital ward, there are living angels, nurses, and staff who bring care, hope, and a smile to the very sick and greatly suffering. There are also staff doctors, working 75-hour weeks, who still give a damn about their patients. I had brought two deli sandwiches to the hospital, one for Mrs. Devon and one for myself. Mrs. Devon passed on eating, exhausted from the multiple IV antibiotics, respiratory treatments, and unstoppable coughing. I offered the extra sandwich to her doctor; he happily wolfed it down

Comments:

The Democrats' massive wave if illegal aliens aren't just robbing, raping and murdering, but they bring all manner of nasty Third World diseases here.
So, thanks to the Open Borders Uniparty folks Dems and RINOs, we now have the same hellish disease environment that we once had exterminated in OUR COUNTRY, but which lives on in their hellholes and these infected invaders bring here and pass on to us.

Getting a bit tired of the COVID-inspired image of all healthcare workers being angels. Many are good people doing good work but against the backdrop of knowing that about 250,000 Americans die every year as the result of a medical mistake... I think we should still consider them humans and fully capable of making fatal errors.

In forty five years as a physician, I saw an exponential decline in effectiveness and efficiency of medical care. There have been great advances in knowledge. However, regulation and forced elimination of judgement and common sense in favor of “protocol” and political correctness outweigh knowledge. Agreed that most Nurses are as close to being angels as we get, but they are worn down also. Third world disease isn’t the problem, but providing unlimited treatment gratis can’t be sustained.

Let me just reminisce. As a child my Doctor took care of just about everything. He and his wife, who was his nurse, did it all, and he even put in time at the local Emergency room. If he was needed he either got me in that day or the next.; He had a reputation as a good Doctor and he earned it. Today my Primary---you see they use the word Primary----because they know you will be sent to other Doctors who work for the same conglomerate of Doctors that the Primary does. If you get sick and can get to see your Doctor in 2 weeks you are lucky, but when you do get to see the Primary chances are you will be referred to another Doctor. The first thing the computer says when you call your Doctor is that If this is an Emergency go to the Emergency Room if you want to see a Doctor go to Urgent care, if you want to see me you can wait 2 weeks. And if it is decided you need to be hospitalized, you can forget your Primary ever coming to see you. They appoint a Doctor who works at the hospital who you never heard of to be your Doctor.

Separating fact from fiction on ‘climate change’ 8 replies

Why is it easier to find lies in the media about “climate change” than truthful information? Why is honest reporting on the environment an outlier instead of a rule? Media parrots have said for decades that humans, and our use of natural resources are killing the planet, and that oceans, species, and forests are dying. They report on future predictions, but rarely on scientific facts—so I thought I would fill the vacuum. We have been told that we are responsible for irredeemable destruction in the Great Barrier Reef, but that is not true. The reef is making a “comeback,” yet we don’t see that story

It was once a commonsense belief and universal truth that men and women, boys and girls, are different, especially in the realm of athletics. With rare exceptions, men and women compete in their own categories, from high school level through college to the Olympic games and professional sports. Mixed competitions place women and men on the same team, such as mixed doubles in tennis, or dancing, either in the ballroom, or on ice. Equestrian sports are an exception, but the fact that a horse is a major part of the sport reduces the sex difference between competitors.

Should our government decide “our democracy” is in imminent danger and it’s necessary to suppress dangerous insurrectionists like Catholics and soccer moms, would America’s federal, state and local police play along? It has long been common knowledge Federal agencies have been stockpiling enormous quantities of mil-spec arms, ammunition and other gear. Agencies like the Railroad Retirement Board, Department of Education and Fish and Wildlife Service have automatic weapon-armed SWAT teams. Apparently, railroad retirees, federal education grant applicants and Trout are a greater threat to “our democracy” than anyone imagined. Let’s evaluate the real potential threat:

Presidential candidate Nikki Haley, like most of us, doesn’t like chaos. She’d prefer that America be an orderly, law-abiding, harmonious nation. Unfortunately, that is no longer the America in which we live. But in her condemnation of “chaos,” Haley confuses correlation with causation, and is using our current turmoil to attack Donald Trump. At a campaign stop in Bluffton, South Carolina, she said: I agree with a lot of his policies, but the truth is, rightly or wrongly, chaos follows him (Trump). We have too much division in this country, and too many threats around the world to be sitting in chaos once again.

Claudine Gay, erstwhile Harvard University president reliably accused of serial plagiarism, resigned yesterday. It is not a victory. She should have been fired. Possessions, likewise identities, are held in common. Or by the state. Undermining the quaint notion of the rugged individual is the assault on speech and objective truth, denying private property,

Real reality-based Americans have been watching the increasingly downward spiral of electric vehicles and their associated PR machine with relief and pleasure. The venerable axiom “what cannot go on, won’t” applies. However, one of the fruits by which democrats/Socialists/Communists may be known is also their defining characteristic: they create their own reality and try to force others to live in it. So it is with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is, by the way, gay. You don’t have to ask him

The Seventh Circuit has recently ruled AR-15 pattern rifles are not protected by the Second Amendment. The lawless ruling ignores the Heller and Bruen decisions. We often hear the phrase, 'Israeli-Palestinian conflict' everywhere - in the media, from Israeli officials, written in articles, repeated by foreign policy think tanks, and U.S. politicians. It is ubiquitous. They are all incorrect. A 'conflict' indicates two equal sides laying credible claim over a disputed issue. Thus, the false phrase equates Jews with terrorists and terrorist supporters. And, the incorrect saying plays into revisionist history in an antisemitic fashion. Terrorists and their supporters claim that Israel 'stole' 'Palestine.' But 'Palestine' was nothing more than a colonizer's term for Judea from 136 A.D. - to when Jews liberated Israel in 1948 from British occupiers.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been a reliably left-leaning mouthpiece for the Biden administration on every issue, including the administration’s fatuous, anti-Israel demands for a two-state solution. I neither like nor respect him. However, in the “credit where credit is due” department, Blinken deserves props for saying something important: Namely, that a world that insistently demands that Israel surrender in this war does not make any such demands on Hamas. [snip] Despite this, he says that all calls for a ceasefire are directed at Israel alone. No one in the world asks Hamas to stop fighting or to stop engaging in genocidal attacks against Israel:

Today, I need to dive into a debate that has been raging for 35 years without a satisfactory resolution. Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? I’m an engineer. It’s impossible for me to give a simple answer if I can dream up a more complicated one. So bear with me. I think determination of whether a movie fits the Christmas genre depends on more than its musical score and the timing of its release. The plot has to include certain critical elements common to all Christmas movies.

After spending three years largely ignoring the border, the mainstream press is suddenly all over it, with headlines blaring about a “surge,” “crisis” and “call for action.” Why now? The New York Times warned that “surging” Mexico border crossings “push U.S. resources to the brink.” In another story, CNN even described the situation as a “crisis.” Weirdly, the press is even exaggerating the current “surge.” Consider that CNN story, which says:
