For the first time in the nearly 30-year history of the United Nations summit on climate change, all nations gathered unanimously agreed to a resolution that called for “transitioning away from fossil fuels” and committed member states to tripling existing green-energy infrastructure by 2030.
The nearly 200 member countries gathered at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai agreed to transition away from fossil fuels “in a just, orderly and equitable manner” before entirely eliminating carbon emissions by 2050. While previous U.N. climate agreements committed member states to work toward slowing global warming, the deal announced Wednesday was the first to include an explicit commitment to do away with “fossil fuels.”

A quarter century? Won't the islands be submerged and 50-somthing Zedders be starved by then? Transitioning is grift.

How are they going to get to the next summit? Fly on brooms. Hillary might help with that.

Put the entire U.N. complex in NYC 100% on "green energy," starting TODAY.
If the sun doesn't shine - you get no energy.
If the wind doesn't blow - you get no energy.
That's it. Nothing more from us.

The love themselves, they hate everyone else. The don't care about unintended consequences, like people dying. In fact it's a plus, less people are easier to rule over. They're going for enslavement, ours.

nasty, needy useless eaters.

This is what happens when we provide enough safeguards in society to prevent stupid people from removing themselves from the gene pool.

Why we will never run out of oil. A technical paper, filled with geologist's jargon, but if you can just sort of skim through some of that, and understand subduction zones, rifts and a few different names of rock types, you can get the gist of this very interesting paper. My 9th grade Earth Science class and basic understanding of chemical processes (catalytic cracking and pyrolysis and polymerization) was enough for me to follow the thread of their argument. Very interesting. And probably correct.

I'm with #6 -- tell the U.N., "You, first. Show us you can do it, then we will consider following. Else, blow it out urazz."
They'll say they'll go last to tie it all up for good, while they intend for everybody BUT them to give it up. Then they will have the leverage with which to control the whole world population.

Come to find out, there is no bottom to the stupidity pit.
When the signatories live according to their dire predictions, then the rest of the world's citizens should take them more seriously. However, they will not condescend to do that, because they are this era's elites who have plotted to become Rulers of the World, having decimated populations, ...shrunken by famine and disease, perhaps? maybe a war or two or three?
Human Beings of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but diets of insects, impoverishment, disease, limbs frozen while huddling in firelit caves; or choked and broiled in AC-deprived stifling abodes? Huddles masses, groping along the barbed wired highways and byways, gaze hollowed-eyed at Benz, Bently and Rolls limos and armored SUVs speeding their way to galas and wagyu beef and champagne soirees, on landscapes of shimmering grass or island estates amidst glittering oceans?
What dreams might come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil (hat tip The Bard)...

These summits always result in countries talking out the sides of their mouths because they know that only the U.S. will be held to any account for them. They won’t harm their own economies but hope the bring about the fall of ours. They can only start to implement these environmental plans with the help of foreign aid, which the Democrats will generous supply. The crazy thing is that only 40% of oil and gas is used for fuel, the rest is used to produce commercial goods. I guess we can look forward to all of our goods being made of recycled hemp.

The world will reach "Mad Max Times" before we "transition away from fossil fuels in a " just, orderly, and equitable manner". You don't need to be a STEM graduate to realize this is simply madness. They are just increasing control incrementally. My bet is they/we don't have until 2030 or 2050. A "big event" is coming, not if, just when and what.

Why do we allow them to say what should be done?

Let the rest of the world run on gerbils running on wheels to power their countries. We here in the U.S. will stick with our oil, gas, and coal to power things.

I just want to see how they are going to make this work. My guess is they know it won't, but they will get rich in the process. We are ruled (not governed) by thieves.
