Hunter Biden was indicted Thursday on felony and misdemeanor charges — nine counts in total — stemming from alleged tax crimes the first son committed between 2016 and 2019. The three felonies leveled against President Biden’s 53-year-old son include one count tax evasion for his 2018 personal taxes and two counts of filing a false return for his 2018 personal taxes and on a corporate income tax return for his company Owasco, PC. He has also been hit with six misdemeanor counts of failure to pay and failure to file charges for the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 tax years.

If a jury does find him guilty--unlikely, the judge might as well forget a jail punishment and fine him the upper limit of the max fine penalty. Bidens like money so the more they lose the better I like it.

A very large and ostentatious show that elides important things: 1) By making it all about taxes the focus will be strictly on payment/nonpayment, not on source of funds, activities that 'earned' the funds, foreign associations etc. 2) By making it about taxes the focus is on the individual, not his slimy corrupt family including his slimy corrupt father. 3) Penalties will involve repayment, fines etc. not jail time. Hunter will get more money from daddy as he did all along. 4) Al Capone and all that. There are much bigger crimes here.

I suspect that the reason the Justice Department is finally proceeding with Hunter indictments now is so the convictions will be made before Biden’s term as President ends. That way Joe Biden can grant Hunter a Presidential pardon. Joe can’t do that after he leaves office.

Our border is broken, inflation and crime are breaking Americans, and wars are breaking out all over. Still, the Biden administration is keeping its eye on the ball—and the ball, as Biden made clear during his now-famous speech given against an ominous blood-red background, is to destroy “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans,” whom he characterized as “represent[ing] an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” In Biden-world, the best way to recognize these American “Nazis” (for that’s what he’s calling them) is to identify and arrest everyone who showed up in D.C. on January 6, 2021. The latest victim is Siaka Massaquoi.

The video captures the unsettling scene of police hurling not one, not two, but three concussion grenades into an apparently peaceful crowd at the Capitol on January 6. In this eye-opening footage, the peaceful atmosphere is shattered by the deafening blasts of concussion grenades. It made me wonder, "Why hasn't this been shown?" It's the kind of reality check that sends shivers down your spine. But here's the kicker: the January 6 Committee, the supposed guardians of truth in the aftermath of the Capitol insurrection, has kept this video, and probably many others, under wraps. The Jan. 6, 2021, narrative was that the Capitol had seemingly turned into a battlefield,

Like Longfellow’s little girl, who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, sometimes ad agencies are very good indeed, and sometimes they’re horrid. When they’re good, it’s worth taking note because, as with all media, those short videos have a disproportionate effect on the American psyche. In the case of Chevy’s holiday ad, that effect can only be good. When I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s, in the pre-streaming age, you watched ads whether or not you wanted to. The appeals trial of a former Iranian regime prison official implicated in the 1988 massacre of political prisoners recently unfolded in Sweden as a consequential chapter in the ongoing struggle for accountability. The proceedings not only laid bare the gruesome events of that dark period but also underscored the protracted conflict between the main Iranian opposition and the Iranian regime. Kenneth Lewis, serving as the attorney for multiple plaintiffs in the trial, argued that the clash between the opposition and the Iranian regime should not be classified as an international armed conflict as claimed by the Iranian regime and its proponents.
