Trump told supporters to ‘guard the
vote’ in Philly. Here’s the phrase’s
backstory and why it’s raising concern

Original Article

Former President Donald Trump is urging supporters to “guard the vote” during next year’s election, a phrase that has set off alarm bells among pro-democracy advocates who say it signals permission to take extreme measures that could intimidate voters and threaten election workers. The phrase is a relatively novel one for Trump, though activists in the far-right movement have been setting the groundwork for it to be deployed more widely. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has spent months repeating the phrase in posts, speeches and interviews.

Comments:

Trump's recent "Guard the vote" comment in Philadelphia has led to widespread accusations that his supporters (including the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers) will attempt widespread intimidation and fraud in the election. Just a touch of things to come.

Boohoo on this crappy article raising a false alarm of right wing voter intimidation (domestic terrorism) by Trump supporters. The article is repeating DNC talking points along the lines of Trump being a threat to our democracy tripe.

In other words, we can't afford to have safe, honest, and secure elections. We need those Philadelphia precincts where 120% of eligible voters voted, with coincidentally all votes being cast for Biden.

Strange, I remember the Obama Administration dropping charges against Minister King Samir Shabazz and Jerry Jackson, two members of the New Black Panther Party, who were filmed standing armed outside outside a Philadelphia polling station on Election Day in November 2008, brandishing nightsticks and yelling at white voters that they were "about to be ruled by a black man". That was just youthful highjinks, right?

Those who disagree are the ones who have stolen elections all across the country including the 2020 presidential election and the two senate runoff elections in Georgia in 2022. Remember, "They are who they want you to hate". China owns the democratic party and our country, time to take it back, legally.

Listen now! When Trump says be peaceful it’s code for do violence. If a Trump supporter is being hit by someone and says “stop hitting me!”, that’s aggressive violence. If Trump says let’s have secure voting that’s code for intimidate minorities and go forth and cheat. Trump bad. Dims good. It’s simple. You don’t even need to think about it.

Well when 200K votes materialized last year out of the back a truck in Philly and no one could do anything about it I would say there was reason to be extra vigilant this coming election. Philly is notorious for fake votes, many of which come straight from the cemetery. It used to be a running joke but since it has given us Biden the joke is no longer funny and this mess needs to be cleaned up. Something smells in Philly and it ain't the fish market.

15 & 19. This article is probably new to most LDotters, but for the past 24 hours, it's been featured on NPR, ABC, WaPo, Reuters, MSN, USNews, and the other countless tentacles of the AP. No matter how much we may take comfort in reading RedState, Breitbart, American Thinker, and even Real Clear Politics this month, this "guard the vote" article is the election message most Americans are reading today. As a few others here have noted, we are not "Never Trumpers", just conservatives with open eyes to what's arrayed against him -- and against us. Our votes will be there for him, but many of don't think they will be enough.

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday said the Presidential Medal of Freedom is a “better” award than the Defense Department’s Medal of Honor because service members have to sacrifice their lives or health to receive the military’s highest honor, the latest in a series of controversial campaign comments from the Republican presidential candidate. In a campaign event in New Jersey billed as a speech against antisemitism, the former president was introduced by Miriam Adelson, a Republican donor who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump in 2018.

Many gasped recently when Donald Trump said he’d encourage Russia “to do whatever the hell they want” with NATO allies who don’t pay their share of the transatlantic alliance’s defense spending. It was a brazen but hardly surprising turn from someone who has shown a long and loyal affection for Russian President Vladimir Putin, a wanted war criminal. Trump has called Putin — a former KGB agent who jails and murders critics — smart, savvy, and his friend. Trump sided with Putin after a U.S. intelligence community assessment found Russia meddled in the 2016 election. More troubling, in 2017 Trump shared highly classified intelligence with the Russian ambassador.

Former President Trump told his supporters earlier this year he would be their “retribution” if reelected. He told supporters last week he would direct the Justice Department (DOJ) to investigate “every Marxist prosecutor in America.” And Trump over the weekend vowed to “root out … the radical-left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.” Trump’s own words have made increasingly clear how fixated he is on revenge and targeting his perceived enemies if he wins a second term in the White House next November.

He fights. And unlike some others who fight, he wins. His fights aren’t carried out through rhetoric: he strikes the Left where it hurts them most. The Left has been winning battles based upon a brilliant strategy they adopted in the 60s and 70s. Once it became clear that the strategy of protest was doomed to fail, Leftists adopted what German socialist Rudi Dutschke called “the long march through the institutions,” explicitly referring to Mao’s famous Long March that ended with the victory of the communists in China.

Mrs Harris has always been a rather odd person, with a propensity for speaking in gibberish. ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia’s secretary of state on Thursday came out against election rule changes pending before the State Election Board, specifically rejecting a proposal to count ballots by hand at polling places on election night. At a meeting in July, the board advanced a proposal that would require three separate poll workers to count ballots at voting precincts on election night to make sure they match the number of ballots recorded by voting machines. That proposal has been posted for public comment and the board is set to vote Monday whether to adopt it.

The DNC Convention starts tomorrow. I have been requested to repost “THE BIG WHY” explanation. When we understand just how much corruption was needed in the weaponization of the modern IC, we start to understand why the effort to hide it will continue. President Barack Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder did not create a weaponized DOJ and FBI; instead, what they did was take the preexisting system and retool it, so the weapons only targeted one side of the political continuum. This point is where many people understandably get confused.
