Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy will retire at the end of this month, he announced Wednesday. In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, he boasted of the House's accomplishments under his speakership. 'It is in this spirit that I have decided to depart the House at the end of this year to serve America in new ways. I know my work is only getting started,' he wrote. 'I will continue to recruit our country’s best and brightest to run for elected office. The Republican Party is expanding every day, and I am committed to lending my experience to support the next generation of leaders.'

Never one of my favorites, but the GOP can't keep shedding numbers and keep their tiny majority.

Kev, what's the rush? Just had to punish your own party to cover for your missteps in the House? The pubbies are now down to a two-seat majority without an election. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory again? Pubbies, please find a way to keep control of the house. Somehow some way.

McCarthy couldn't make it through the end of his term? No, it was never about the country, it was always about McCarthy, who as a Rino is trying to deconstruct the Republican majority in the House.

This is beginning to look intentional, first Santos and now him. It looks like the Rino's are trying to return control of the house to the dem's so they can get the agenda's they really want passed.

They are "retiring" on purpose just like they did when Paul Ryan was the speaker, so in case Trump wins, he has the entire congress against him. All part of the plan.

Rest assured Kevin is being richly rewarded with a position similar to Ryan where he can continue fighting MAGA efforts and secure Uniparty power. Shame on Bakersfield CA for not throwing this obvious sell-out years ago. Kevin fights for the other side. We are NOT losing one of our own.

Newsome can't appoint a replacement, but he could delay the special election. Santos wasn't going to run for reelection. Both McCarthy and Santos should have stuck around until Jan 25.

I have no words to express the feeling I have for republicans. Not even naughty words. There are no words. These people are as corrupt as democrats, but without the loyalty to their party. At least democrats vote lock step. So now with the moronic, stupid, idiotic, feckless republicans we now only have a 2 seat majority. Between the deep state trying to steal the 2022 election (thank you Lee Zeldin for the surprise 4 NYS flips, now 3) and the POS McCarthy who could not for the sake of his party and country and voters, stick it out until the election next year, we will probably lose the House majority by, let's see March? Democrats, the media and of course, the deep state will single out two other republican congress critters to accuse of God knows what. And those traitorous 100+ republicans will vote to oust them. And Hakeem will be speaker. Does anyone smell a conspiracy here? An orchestration at hand? I officially now hate republicans more than democrats.

During a lengthy Instagram Live on Tuesday evening where she revealed that she feared for her life during the siege, the “Squad” member accused the mainstream media of “spewing disinformation” ahead of the deadly riot in which five people died. “There’s absolutely a commission that’s being discussed but it seems to be more investigating in style rather than truth and reconciliation,” she said.

The director of Disney’s latest flop, The Marvels, Nia DaCosta, is blaming hateful sexist, misogynists for the massive box office failure. What is probably really upsetting Ms. DaCosta is that more men than women bought tickets to the film. Women, like me, are not at all interested in paying for a film starring macho women. No thanks, Disney. Real women like strong men, even fake ones portraying superheroes. The more I read about the antics of the hysterical Karens or view the sickening videos of moronic exhibitionists on TikTok, the more convinced that I am a female chauvinist.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) is ordering Michigan’s state fleet of vehicles to be 100 percent electric by 2040. In a new directive Tuesday, Whitmer announced a move to bring the state’s fleet of vehicles down to zero greenhouse gas emissions in fewer than two decades. The goal, Whitmer wrote in the order, is “essential” for her administration’s green energy agenda. Whitmer wrote in the directive: Michigan is on the cutting-edge of mobility and electrification. Our world-leading auto industry is making the switch to electric, and we continue to attract battery, semiconductor, and clean energy investments from other states and nations. We must usher the future of mobility and clean energy into Michigan

On Dec. 7, 1941, a surprise attack at the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii would officially begin the United States' involvement in World War II. That day, which President Franklin Roosevelt would notably call "a date which will live in infamy," is now recognized each year as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. According to the National Park Service, 2,403 service members and civilians were killed and another 1,178 people were injured in the attack. Two U.S. Navy battleships – the USS Arizona and the USS Utah – were also permanently sunk, and 188 aircraft were destroyed. Commemorations are held every year in Hawaii and across the country

The highest number of illegal immigrants in a single day crossed onto U.S. soil on Tuesday. More than 12,000 crossed the border that day. In an interview Wednesday, DHS Secretary Mayorkas claimed that the border security measures congressional Republicans want to put into a foreign aid bill are “violence to our fundamental values.” What are these security measures that are so offensive to the man who lies that the southern border is closed and secured? They are “building a border wall, increasing the number of Border Patrol agents, limiting asylum, and narrowing Biden’s power to parole illegal immigrants.” Talk about bad timing.
