Target CEO calls Pride Month display backlash

Target CEO Brian Cornell suggested that the backlash the retail giant faced back in May over its LGBTQ Pride displays was the first time some team members claimed it was "not safe" at work. (snip) Consumers' Research executive director Will Hild objected to Cornell’s comments. (snip) "He is the one who made Target stores unsafe for children, for the children of his customers, for children of his employees," Hild continued. "And yet he wants to deflect and put the blame back on his own customer base. He's basically blaming you, the customer, for his mistakes."

The article really doesn't do the interview justice. I actually watched the entire interview, live, on CNBC. He started the interview talking about how he has had to "work with" and "educate" prosecutors on what happens when they allow thugs to steal from their stores. To paraphrase, he said, "we have to explain that it is bad for a neighborhood when we have to close a store because that creates a loss of jobs and it eliminates a safe, reliable source for people to get the goods and services they need." First, he is explaining this like it's not big deal that he's having to "teach" a prosecutor why stealing is wrong. It was completely absurd. He then follows that up with a whole segment about supply chain issues and getting that right, yada, yada and then he has the NERVE, after he just talked about closing stores because of violence and theft, to say that the whole "Pride" debaucle was the first time EVER, EVER, that his team members felt unsafe in their stores. What a load of absolute crap. After the interview, Andrew Ross Sorkin (one of the 3 hosts of the show) who is the biggest snowflake in the world, went on an absolute diatribe about how awful, unsafe, horrendous, (insert other adjectives here), it was that EXTREMISTS were making people at Target feel unsafe. He was just horrified by it. I watch CNBC almost every morning and I don't think I've ever seen him get that upset about any issue, including the current Israeli war. He went on and on about further marginalizing marginalized groups. To Becky Quick and Joe Kernen's credit, they did not buy into his BS and even pushed back on him after it was clear he was not going to stop talking about it. In the end, I was almost embarrassed for him.

If you want your female customers to feel safe, you don't tell grown men they're welcome to use female restrooms and dressing rooms whether the women like it or not. Target took sides against female customers, and moved on to "displays" of clothing moms and dads found offensive. No telling how many customers have had it, and will never come back.

Google’s search results consistently favor pro-abortion sources over pro-life ones, according to a new study that tested the search engine giant against its competitors. A new report by researchers at the Media Research Center’s Free Speech America says that a pro-abortion bias exists across Google’s search engine, its AI chatbot Bard, Google Ads, and company policies. Researchers at the MRC compared Google results to those of Bing and DuckDuckGo, saying that results from Google tilted in favor of a pro-abortion perspective. The idiom for pregnancy, “a bun in the oven,” which traces its origins back more than 2,000 years to Ancient Greece, is in fact “misogynistic,” according to Kathleen Crowther, an historian of reproductive medicine at the University of Oklahoma. Crowther insists the idiom reduces the role of the mother to a mere incubator after the majority of the work has been done by the man. “I don’t think most people who use that metaphor are being misogynistic.” “But I think it actually does come from a deeply misogynistic tradition of thinking about women’s bodies as passive,” she argues.

It's hard to imagine there's a more antisemitic person in the U.S. than Congress' own Rashida Tlaib. Every time she opens her mouth these days, she spews incendiary, hateful rhetoric against the Jewish state, even as Jews in her own country fear for their safety. The fact is, Tlaib doesn't care about them and probably would prefer they go away -- by any means necessary. It's clear she doesn't care about those who are being held hostage in Gaza after being brutally ripped from their homes in Israel. She hasn't once expressed remorse about that or called for them to be returned to their families.
