For a litany of reasons, one ought not mess with former “Star Wars” actress and current Daily Wire star Gina Carano.
On just the most literal level, Carano is a trained mixed martial artist who enjoyed a professional MMA career before branching into film. In other words, it’s generally a good idea to keep your words to Carano soft and sweet in case she physically forces you to eat them.
But of course, all the combat prowess in the world won’t translate when dealing with cowards hiding behind their keyboards. Much to the chagrin of Carano’s staunchest critics, she’s pretty darn good at keeping receipts

Newly-minted Speaker Mike Johnson may check many boxes for conservative Americans, but he's checking boxes for Democrats in a completely different way. In other words, the left has its new bogeyman, and he's sending them into fits of rage.
For example, did you know that Johnson is a Christian? I know, it's really terrifying stuff. It's times like these that I wish there wasn't a legal requirement to link to the source of an excerpt because absolutely no one should give David Corn and his awful site a click. Here's a bit of what was written.

On Friday evening, Harvard President Claudine Gay gave a speech to Harvard Hillel that was adapted in Forward. Gay forthrightly admitted that Harvard has an anti-Semitism problem:
Here in the U.S., we are witnessing a surge in anti-Jewish incidents and rhetoric across the nation — and on our own campus. The ancient specter of antisemitism, that persistent and corrosive hatred, has returned with renewed force.
A recent ADL report found that incidents of antisemitism had almost tripled over the past six years nationally. Here at Harvard, I’ve heard story after story of Jewish students feeling increasingly uneasy or even threatened on campus.

U.S. consumers are dealing with double-digit Halloween candy inflation for the second year in a row, with prices being an average of 13 percent higher this month compared to last October.
Retail price tracker Datasembly’s latest Grocery Price Index, based on “data collected from over 150,000 stores that represent 200+ retail banners” across the nation, revealed the spooky numbers on October 11. The index shared that sweet treats inflation “over-indexes the entire Grocery category at 6.7 percent for the same time period.”
According to the tracker, high inflation drove a national increase of 19.9 percent last year across the “Candy and Gum” category, so an additional 12.8 percent increase

Police at Cornell University were called to the school’s kosher dining hall, and the campus Hillel warned students to stay away from it, after anonymous antisemitic posts on a Greek life website that included threats to “shoot up” the building and kill and rape Jewish students.
The posts, whose text has circulated widely on social media, were published Saturday and Sunday under pseudonyms including “hamas,” “jew evil,” “jew jenocide,” “hamas warrior” and “kill jews.” The posts have titles such as “jewish people need to be killed,” “eliminate jewish living from cornell campus” and “gonna shoot up 104 west,” the name of the kosher dining hall.

When John Podhoretz says something's good, there's no point in not taking a gander.
You gotta look.
So there's this: Lorenz, recall, is the Washington Post charmer who's supposedly the Voice of the Millennial, the youthquake explosion, the internet 'influencer' of the 'influencers.'
She's also a barftastic leftist, and worse still, a pretty unethical one.
She's the one who famously doxxed the owner of the Libs of TikTok Twitter account, and apparently lied to her editor about consulting her sources. I wrote about her here. Then when Elon Musk bought Twitter and started releasing all the company's secrets, it came to light

Nikki Haley is slowly rising in the Republican presidential primary polls. She put in good performances in the first two RNC debates and it is starting to pay off.
Haley and the other Republicans running in the primary have been slow to criticize Trump or draw sharp distinctions between his record and what they pledge to do in office. That’s a problem when the frontrunner, Trump, is so far ahead in the polls. Haley spoke out in Las Vegas on Saturday at the Republican Jewish Coalition annual summit. It’s a gathering for donors so if there is ever a good time to distinguish yourself as a candidate from the others

A gag order in the federal election interference case against former President Donald Trump was back in effect Sunday after the presiding judge ended her pause on the order.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan had granted Trump's defense team an administrative stay, meaning the gag order was on hold while the defense pursued an appeal. But on Sunday, Chutkan signed an opinion that lifted her Oct. 20 stay, essentially putting the gag order back into effect. The order prohibits Trump from making statements about potential witnesses or disparaging comments about the prosecutors. The team of federal special counsel Jack Smith asked for the gag order to "protect the integrity

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday that the end game in Gaza is “ultimately” up to Israel as it escalates its operations into the territory without a clear military objective on what it seeks to accomplish aside from the eradication of Hamas.
CBS’s Margaret Brennan pressed Sullivan on what milestones Israel needs to pass to consider ending their efforts against militant group Hamas, which launched a deadly attack against Israel more than three weeks ago. Sullivan said on “Face the Nation” that ending the attacks would be up to Israel as the U.S. continues to advise them in its ongoing war. “Well, they have declared

Matt Taibbi is one of a group of honest liberals who are not blind to the contemporary Left’s faults. At Racket News, he writes about his testimony before Jim Jordan’s House Weaponization of Government Committee, which apparently prompted a visit to his home by the IRS. Jordan’s House committee investigated, with the result that the IRS has announced a new policy on home visits.
The substance of the investigation is related in more detail in a separate Racket News post, but for now I want to focus on Matt’s conclusion in the post linked above, which is titled “Thanks, to a Politician Who Did His Job”:

Hamas heavyweight Muhammad Qassem Sawalha, 62, was discovered living in London in a home bankrolled by UK citizens. Here’s the kicker: he lives in a Jewish neighborhood. Apparently, living amongst Jews isn’t so bad if a huge chunk of your home is paid for with someone else’s cheddar.
Sawalha and his wife scored a tasty $136,500 taxpayer-funded kiss when they bought a two-story home in London for $390,000. The house is paid off.
Sawalha, who is wanted in Israel for being a member of Hamas, skedaddled to London using a cousin’s passport in the 1990s and snagged his own British passport in the early 2000s.

Elon Musk has said that Starlink will provide connectivity to “internationally recognized aid organizations” in the territory of Gaza, where communications have been cut amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Israel is intensifying its military campaign against Gaza, which began in response to an attack by Hamas militants into Israeli territory earlier this month, claiming the lives of over 1,300 civilians and leading to the capture of hundreds more. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on Palestinians living in Gaza city, the largest population center in the strip, to evacuate south as his country conducts an offensive in the north.
