WASHINGTON – After Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid for speaker of the U.S. House collapsed Friday, former Speaker Kevin McCarthy threw his endorsement to Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota, who had been making calls to GOP colleagues to determine if he would win their support for that top job.
“He is the right person for the job. He can unite the conference,” McCarthy said in a statement. “He understands the dynamics of the conference. He also understands what it takes to win and keep a majority.”
With McCarthy’s endorsement, Emmer would become the top candidate for the job, but others are also weighing a run.
Since McCarthy, R-Calif., was ousted from the speakership

I don't know much about Emmer, but if the 20-25 turncoats like him it might just be more McCarthy and one-part voting. Those 20-25 still need to be primaried and voted out.
FTA: But Emmer’s relationship with former President Donald Trump, who strongly backed Jordan’s failed effort to become speaker, is frosty.
That makes me very nervous.

FTA:
As the former head of the NRCC and as majority whip, Emmer has forged relationships with a broad range of Republican House members. But Emmer’s relationship with former President Donald Trump, who strongly backed Jordan’s failed effort to become speaker, is frosty.
Unlike Scalise or Jordan, Emmer voted to certify the 2020 elections. He also advised candidates, as head of the NRCC to distance themselves from Trump if they need to do that to win.
I don't like him.

Translation: Pelosi has given us our orders. We can't elect Jordan but we can elect Emmer. She is a member of a crime family. Maybe they are all afraid of her.

Jordan supporters should continue to vote for Jordan. Conservatives are better off without a speaker.

I doubt Jesus Christ could get enough votes. This is not becoming stupid. It is stupid. There is no prize for being the stupidest people in the room.

Billions of dollars are at stake. They were never going to allow a Speaker who was actually honest and a conservative. They are fighting MAGA to see to it we have nobody in positions of power.
Steve Bannon predicted this was what McCarthy and the cabal were up to. Kevin deserves an Academy Award for that ringing “endorsement” of Jim Jordan he gave on the House floor. What an ultra cool liar McCarthy is - right up there with Barack Obama.
McCarthy genuinely endorses Emmer which means he is on swamp side. Very very bad news.
Matt Gaetz quiet? I do not think he is strangely silent. His conscience should be clear unlike about 22 other House colleagues tonight.

Gaetz, this is going according to plan, somehow? You seem to be struggling with finding any cameras to get in front of to show how to lead the way. Why is that?

Sorry, but Gaetz should not be reviled the way some on this site are doing. He did nothing but expose McCarthy for what he was, is and always will be, a swamp dweller. The decision to renege was all Kevin. He could have kept his word, he chose not to. When that happened, Gaetz had no choice but to call him on it. He is not the rat. Had Republicans had any integrity, they would have stood with Gaetz, but we are learning that far too many are nothing but democrat lite. Clearly, those fools want those big omnibus bills. They want outrageous spending. They want the J6 videos to be hidden. They just can’t quit the status quo. It is THEY who have created this chaos. They reject common sense conservative policies and prefer to continue the unmitigated destruction of the country through voting for the status quo. All they had to do was vote for Jordan who is an honest and ethical man who would have tried at least to stop the bleeding, but they just could not bring themselves to do what the vast majority of Americans wanted.
We need change if we are to survive and if we cannot come together to stop the horrific policies that are being shoved down our throats we are done. Matt Gaetz is not the monster. He just shined a light on the problem and gave Republicans the chance to start to bring some much needed change. However, the status quo swamp creatures have cried foul. Keep doing what you always have done and you will get exactly what you always have had.

My money is on Congressman Byron Donalds.
Too many entrenched elites who have been there long enough to have corruptive connections!
Congressman Donalds is now the best choice from the Old low-T RINOS crawling all over themselves playing "king of the hill"
