John Kirby, the White House’s National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, told reporters aboard Air Force Once en route to Israel on Tuesday evening that President Joe Biden would have “tough questions” for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when they met Wednesday morning.
Biden’s trip was intended to show solidarity for Israel in its war against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which attacked Israel without provocation Oct. 7 and murdered 1,400 peoople.
But after Palestinians — and their allies — blamed Israel for an explosion at a hospital in Gaza City that reportedly killed hundreds of people, Biden appeared to be taking a different stance,

As the Israel-Hamas War rages and the crisis in Gaza deepens, Taher Herzallah said he has exchanged frantic messages on social media with his family members who are trapped in Gaza. Their description of the situation is grim. He said they’ve told him they have no food, electricity, water or fuel. (Snip) Herzallah said his concerns for his family thousands of miles away have also been compounded by a growing fear for the safety of his wife and children here in the US, as reports of attacks against people perceived to be Muslim or Palestinian surface across the country.

Former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) said it is an absolute mess behind the scenes on Capitol Hill as House Republicans try to elect a new speaker, saying he “cannot overstate how angry some Republican members are.”[Snip] It is not Jim Jordan. It is the fact that Kevin McCarthy was the victim of a drive-by shooting orchestrated by a small group of people and Stevie Scalise got one crack at it.[Snip] Gowdy was likely referring to the strong-arm tactics Jordan’s supporters have been reportedly using while lobbying on his behalf.

Harvard pro-Palestinian groups held a 'die-in' on Wednesday, just over a week after the deadly terrorist attack by Hamas that killed more than 1,400 people in Israel.
The protests come just 12 days after the attack and a letter backed by 33 Harvard student groups that blamed Israel for the attack by Hamas terrorists sparked national outrage.
The Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee and Harvard Graduate Students for Palestine organized Wednesday's march from Harvard's main campus in Cambridge to its business school in Boston.

EU President Ursula von der Leyen has pledged to provide the Palestinian/Hamas effort with $50 million in supplemental assistance to support the resistance effort against Israeli retaliation.
(snip)she said: “The Commission will immediately increase the current humanitarian aid envelope foreseen for Gaza by 50 million euros. This will bring the total to over 75 million euros. We will continue our close cooperation with the UN and its agencies to ensure that this aid reaches those in need in the Gaza strip. The Commission supports Israel’s right to defend itself against the Hamas terrorists, in full respect of international humanitarian law.

Pope Francis received in private audience Tuesday Sister Jeannine Gramick, cofounder of the pro-LGBT group New Ways Ministry, which has been denied the title “Catholic” by Church authorities.
The pope received Sister Gramick at his Casa Santa Marta residence for a 50-minute meeting Tuesday afternoon. Gramick, who was accompanied by 3 New Ways Ministry staff members, thanked Francis “for his openness to blessing same-sex unions, as well as for his opposition to the criminalization of LGBT+ people in civil society,” according to a firsthand witness.

Twenty-two House Republicans on Wednesday declined to vote to make Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) the next Speaker of the House.
The House held another vote on if House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), the Republican nominee for Speaker, should become the leader of the House. Not enough Republicans voted to make him Speaker after 15 days without a Republican leader of the House.
Jordan received 199 votes, House Democrat Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) received 212 votes, and 22 lawmakers voted for someone other than Jordan and Jeffries.
The 22 Republicans who declined to vote for Jordan include:

Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) failed to secure the speaker’s gavel for the second time in a Wednesday afternoon vote that saw Republican support for the hardline Ohio lawmaker shrink slightly from where it stood on the first ballot.
With the entire Democratic caucus falling in line behind House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Jordan could only afford to lose a handful of Republican votes after 20 GOP holdouts voted against him on Tuesday, costing him the gavel on the first ballot.
Jordan’s team appears to have lost ground since then, as 22 House Republicans voted against the party’s nominee in Wednesday’s vote. Representative Pete Stauber (R., Minn.) switched his allegiances

The intent of the RFK Jr. independent campaign, as an operation to support Biden and hurt Donald Trump, becomes even more obvious when you look at the recent Marist Polling [SEE HERE].
In a three-way contest with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. running as an independent, Biden opens up a 7-point lead over Trump. 44% of registered voters support Biden. 37% back Trump, and 16% are for Kennedy.
With Kennedy in the race, Biden’s support dips 5 percentage points among Democrats while Trump loses 10 points among Republicans.

In discussion of the Middle East, the current dynamic of Hamas attacking Israel, and the necessary, albeit perhaps painful response that will now be delivered by Israel, some have noted Obama’s fingerprints are all over this. It’s true, and it is worth remembering the history of this as it pertains to the U.S. triggering the Arab Spring as the first deployment of Obama’s foreign policy.(snip)
The layers and layers of ideologues he and Hillary embedded in the institutions of the State Dept are as deep as the layers of ideologues Obama embedded in Main Justice and the intelligence community.
