Former Trump attorney Sidney Powell pleaded guilty Thursday morning in the Georgia election interference case on the eve of her trial alongside co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro. Powell entered her guilty plea in Fulton County Superior Court, part of a deal reached with prosecutors, in which she pled guilty to six misdemeanor counts. In her plea, Powell agreed to serve six years of probation and pay a $6,000 fine and $2,700 in restitution to the state of Georgia. She also agreed to submit an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia and to testify at related court proceedings. Powell was one of 19 defendants

So, $8700 in court costs and a guesstimate of $50,000 in legal fees she has incurred to date plus travel expenses to/from court house are Sidney’s direct costs. Six years of probation should only apply to her work in GA, a state she can avoid. Real cost will be having to testify in Trump’s trial in 2024. If she testifies in Trump’s favor, can her probation be withdrawn, subjecting her to more persecution? If she testifies against Trump, she’ll be admitting that she was part of the group that urged then President Trump to violate election laws, which harms her as a consultant. Finally, Powell’s guilty plea eliminates her ability to sue for wrongful arrest and her ability to act as a defense witness for Trump when Trump testifies and when Trump sues the local prosecutor.

Another good example of how our plea bargaining system is used to coerce confessions out of innocent people. Plea bargaining needs limits placed on it so you can't be forced cop a plea for time served just to avoid being financially ruined and threatened with life imprisonment. It does not appear to me that many of our lawyers or judges understand justice as a concept.

And unless she she's harboring a kraken someplace she is blown as an election objector anyway. Seems to be a victim of a malinformation psy ops. There was massive election cheating in swing states. Try not to over read this. The only thing Powell pled guilty to was receiving information from one county’s voting machines without authorization to do so. She did not plead guilty to any of the substantive charges against Trump, and her testimony would likely be very unhelpful to the prosecution, to the extent if they could get any at all, in light of the attorney-client privilege. I think Sydney did the rational thing, and all in all it is yet another embarrassment for the Persecution.

General Flynn had to sell his house to pay for his attorneys, (some who had sold out to Obama). So the government has millions/billions of dollars to destroy an American citizen, but an American citizen has to sell all their assets to protect themselves. What a country we live in!!!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday thanked U.S. President Joe Biden for the prospect of a new multi-billion dollar aid package from Washington. Biden, in a rare address from the Oval Office on Thursday night, said he would be asking Congress for a new round of funding for Ukraine as part of a larger request that also includes aid to Israel. U.S. media reported that Biden would ask for 100 billion U.S. dollars in total, about 60 billion U.S. dollars of which was designated for Ukraine. The White House said details on the proposal would be made public on Friday – but whether it can get through the deeply dysfunctional U.S. Congress

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) declared that Biden’s $100B aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and domestic security is dead on arrival in the Senate. Cotton calls it a slush fund and he’s not wrong. The largest disbursement would go to Ukraine. The aid package includes $60B for Ukraine, $14B for Israel, and $14B for the southern border. There is $7.4B for Taiwan and allies in the Indo-Pacific, and $10B for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza. As you see, the amount allocated to Ukraine is disproportionally larger than anything else. The senator called out the $11.8B for Ukraine, for example, that is included for Ukraine’s “non-war spending”

The federal judge overseeing Donald Trump’s 2020 election interference case in Washington agreed Friday to temporarily lift her narrow gag order. The ruling gives Trump’s lawyers time to prove why the former president’s comments should not be restricted as the case heads toward trial. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan said the gag order would remain on hold — for now — while she considers Trump’s bid to speak freely about the case as he challenges the restrictions in higher courts. The gag order Chutkan issued Monday barred him from making public statements targeting prosecutors, court staff and potential witnesses. It’s the most serious restriction a court has placed on Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric,

James Biden’s now-bankrupt healthcare business, Americore, sent him the wire loan on March 1, 2018, the same day he paid back his influential brother, according to bank records. This is the first hard evidence linking Joe Biden to influence-peddling schemes. In 2018 alone, Americore wired $600,000 in loans to James Biden. The request is being touted as “border security” even though very few funds would be used to exclude economic migrants. For example, Biden’s deputies have ushered more than 300,000 economic migrants through the U.S. border in September alone. The 2023 inflow has added up to roughly 2.5 million, not counting legal migrants and temporary workers. The federal budget deficit rose to $1.7 trillion in fiscal 2023, according to data released Friday by the Treasury Department. The gulf between how much money the federal government spent and made in revenue rose by $320 billion between fiscal 2023 — which ended September 30 — and the previous fiscal year. The fiscal 2023 budget deficit was equal to 6.3 percent of U.S. gross domestic product (GDP), up from 5.4 percent in fiscal 2022. Biden administration officials attributed to spike in the deficit to a steep drop in federal revenue, which rose sharply during rapid economic rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The GOP opposition to Jordan’s bid had steadily grown with each successive ballot: 2o members of the caucus voted against him on the first ballot and 22 voted against him the second time around.

Before epilepsy was understood to be a neurological condition, people believed it was caused by the moon, or by phlegm in the brain. They condemned seizures as evidence of witchcraft or demonic possession, and killed or castrated sufferers to prevent them from passing tainted blood to a new generation. Today we know epilepsy is a disease. By and large, it’s accepted that a person who causes a fatal traffic accident while in the grip of a seizure should not be charged with murder. That’s good, says Stanford University neurobiologist Robert Sapolsky. That’s progress. But there’s still a long way to go.

New York—With three months to go before the Iowa caucuses that he has staked his campaign on, former Vice President Mike Pence faces mounting debt and lagging poll numbers that are forcing questions about not only whether he will qualify for the next debate, but whether it makes sense for him to remain in the race until then. Pence ended September with just $1.18 million left in his campaign account, a strikingly low number for a presidential contest and far less than his rivals, new filings show. His campaign also has $621,000 in debt — more than half the cash he had remaining — and is scrambling to meet donor thresholds

Rep. Jim Jordan's bid to become speaker failed for a third time on Friday, with no end in sight to the House leadership vacuum as Congress faces a deadline to avoid a government shutdown and the White House calls for urgent security assistance for Israel. Jordan has insisted on remaining in the race despite failing repeatedly to secure the gavel as support for his bid erodes further with each consecutive vote. This time, 25 Republicans voted against Jordan, who boasts the support of former President Donald Trump. Twenty-two voted against him in the previous vote.
