The debate kicked off with Univision anchor Ilia Calderón opening up the debate by speaking Spanish, telling viewers that the candidates are trying to win them over. “Please allow me to welcome our Spanish speaking audience,” Calderón said, stating in Spanish, “A good evening to all. From the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the Republican presidential candidates also seek your vote for the party’s primaries. Welcome.” But the irritation of the inclusion of Univision only grew throughout the night, as moderators asked about “gun violence,”

Socialist Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) pulled the fire alarm in a House office building Saturday as Democrats tried to delay a vote on a Republican stopgap spending bill, according to the GOP-controlled Administration Committee.
The wild incident in the Cannon Building was caught on camera and confirmed by several witnesses, according to Politico.
Bowman “pulled a fire alarm in Cannon this morning,” a panel spokesperson told the outlet. “An investigation into why it was pulled is underway.”
Staten Island GOP Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’ office told The Post they would move to have Bowman expelled from the chamber.
In a last-ditch effort to keep the government funded, the House passed a clean continuing resolution to keep the government funded at current spending levels for 45 days, advancing the legislation less than 10 hours before the government is set to shut down.
Lawmakers voted 335-91 on the continuing resolution, surpassing the two-thirds majority threshold needed to advance the legislation on suspension and send it to the Senate for consideration. Should it pass the upper chamber, it would then fall to President Joe Biden to make the final decision and sign it.
House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed James Biden’s Lion Hall Group and JBBSR, Inc., entities on Thursday because the committee could not identify “legitimate services provided by James Biden’s companies.”
