A vast bipartisan majority in the House voted on Saturday for a stopgap spending bill that does not include Ukraine aid funding, a first amid America’s generous support for Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.
The House passed a stopgap spending bill that keeps government spending levels, otherwise known as a continuing resolution (CR). The CR will keep the government open for 45 days.
Although this will not serve as a long-term solution for government funding, the CR will not have any Ukraine aid.

Zelensky has Joe on his speed dial list. He likely already called Joe to remind him of the proof he holds that could put Hunter into the graybar hotel.

Shut it all down. This government hasn't done one good thing or spent one honest cent since Jan 6, 2021.

Shut them both down, at least until Trump returns to the White House.

Has it really stopped the cash to Ukraine program or has it merely moved it out of sight?

Ukraine will still get their funds, they will just take it from our defense or some other agency and hide it.

Time will tell if this is real. I highly suspect the right hand has no clue what the left hand is up to. There is the DNC to consider before the first snowfall.

I don't have real heartburn with providing humanitarian aid and weapons. What I have a problem with is hundreds of billions to fund their government, payroll, pensions etc with exactly zero oversight. Which begs the question, who's bread is being buttered.
Congress has approved trillions in spending with zero oversight with hundreds of billions lost to fraud and record profits.

I have to laugh when I hear Congress critters, especially Republicans, say everyone agrees that funding our military is critical - critical to what exactly? Certainly not our national defense and sovereignty when we have an intentionally opened Southern Border and all the senior Defense civilians, generals and admirals only care about climate change and transexuals.

Chances are the leftist and socialist Democrats assisted by a lot of wimpy Republicans and outright RINOS will slip through a separate bill shortly with the Ukraine money.

Good...the only way to stop this war is ...cut off the funds...the people of Ukraine need some peace and quiet....just in time for the world oligarchs to send in construction crews....but...who will pay them when America says NO MORE....

Is this really true? I heard that McCarthy made a secret deal with McConnell and Biden to send Sixteen (16) Billion $$$ to Ukraine and lied to his fellow Republicans that he did it. Has anyone else heard that? Do you trust sneaky Kevin McCarthy?

Another question. If this CR is so wonderful, why did 91 Republicans vote against it, and so therefore McCarthy had to have the demonrats' votes to pass it? Why would a Republican Leader be depending on the Left to pass a "middle of the night" bill and not his own side?

I want to know where all the anti-war protesters that were so, so vocal when I came back from my class trip to the far east in the mid sixties, protesting that needless war, are at now? Surely they aren't all on the take!
