Trump unexpectedly says he won't seek

Former President Donald Trump will not seek to move his criminal election interference case in Georgia to federal court, according to a court filing Thursday. The filing comes weeks after the former president's attorneys notified Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who is presiding over the case, that he might attempt to pursue a federal venue. "This decision is based on his well-founded confidence that this Honorable Court intends to fully and completely protect his constitutional right to a fair trial and guarantee him due process of law throughout the prosecution of his case in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia," Trump attorney Steven Sadow wrote.

Ifhe filed to move the case to the Feds it would probably go to a District of Columbia Court. As bad as the Georgia court system is, it is more fair than the District of Columbia.

Maybe Trump has an ace up his sleeve. In 2016, I didn't think he'd win. In 2020, I didn't think he'd lose. He surprises me all the time.

I really think the dems "October Surprise" will be to concede that Trump did get elected in 2020. Then the 22nd Amendment kicks in and disqualifies him form serving should he win in 2024. "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice......'' I doesn't say "No person who has SERVED, just no person who has been ELECTED."

A jury on Friday found former Loudoun County superintendent Scott Ziegler guilty of retaliating against a teacher for cooperating with Virginia’s grand jury probe into the district’s alleged mishandling of sexual assault cases. Ziegler wrongfully terminated a teacher who had informed investigators about a sexual assault that happened in her classroom, the jury concluded. After teacher Erin Brooks told prosecutors, sent by Virginia attorney general Jason Miyares, about the incident, Ziegler fired her for working with the grand jury. The probe, mandated by Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin,

Torrential rain caused flooding that forced rescues, closed roads, disrupted subway service and overwhelmed basements in the New York City area as “dangerous and life-threatening” rainfall surged across the concrete expanse on Friday. A month’s worth of rain – more than 4 inches – fell over parts of Brooklyn in just three hours. Intense rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour were falling across the region, and the National Weather Service warned totals exceeding 8 inches “are increasingly likely” in parts of the tri-state area. A widespread 2 to 5 inches had already fallen across the the New York City area since midnight, with much more to come, despite

A band of House conservatives on Friday voted down a GOP bill to avoid a government shutdown. The vote marked a significant — and embarrassing — defeat for Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as a shutdown this weekend appears increasingly inevitable. Twenty-one Republicans joined Democrats in opposing the legislation, bringing the final tally to 198-232. The GOP lawmakers who voted against the bill were: Reps. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Dan Bishop (N.C.), Lauren Boebert (Colo.), Ken Buck (Colo.), Tim Burchett (Tenn.), Eric Burlison (Mo.), Michael Cloud (Texas), Eli Crane (Ariz.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Wesley Hunt (Texas), Nancy Mace (S.C.), Mary Miller (Ill.), Cory Mills (Fla.),

A senior executive at U.S. risk advisory firm Kroll has been barred from leaving the Chinese mainland, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. Hong Kong-based managing director Michael Chan is assisting an investigation into a case dating back a few years, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter, adding that neither Kroll nor Chan were the target of the investigation. Chan traveled to the mainland in July and subsequently informed his employer that he couldn't leave, the report said. Chan is a Hong Kong passport holder, can move freely in mainland China and is still working, the report added.

The federal government warned its employees a shutdown is imminent as the House passed three out of four Republican appropriations bills late Thursday evening with about 48 hours left to go until the government runs out of money. As a result of the late-night votes, the State Department, Department of Defense, and Department of Homeland Security were funded for the next fiscal year, although the agricultural spending bill failed to pass. The House previously passed an appropriations bill for military construction and veteran affairs in July, bringing the approved total to four out of 12 bills.

Elon Musk announced plans for a trip to Eagle Pass, Texas, the epicenter of the Biden border crisis. Musk was curious as to why there is so little press coverage on the crisis at the border. My guess is that they don’t care about the humanitarian and national security crises any more than Joe Biden does. They are all perfectly happy with an open border. They see future Democrat voters. And the effects of Biden’s neglect are historically horrible. The press covers for Democrats and Joe Biden. Elon Musk supports a border wall and he thinks those who seek asylum should have evidence of their asylum claims before being

TEMPE, Arizona — President Joe Biden issued one of his most dire warnings yet that Donald Trump and his allies are a menace to American democracy, declaring Thursday that the former president is more interested in personal power than upholding the nation’s core values and suggesting even mainstream Republicans are complicit. “The silence is deafening,” he said. During a speech in Arizona celebrating a library to be built honoring his friend and fierce Trump critic, the late Republican Sen. NEW YORK — An appeals court Thursday rejected Donald Trump’s bid to delay a civil trial in a lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general, allowing the case to proceed days after a judge ruled the former president committed years of fraud and stripped him of some companies as punishment. The decision, by the state’s intermediate appellate court, clears the way for Judge Arthur Engoron to preside over a non-jury trial starting Monday in Manhattan in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil lawsuit. Trump is listed among dozens of possible witnesses, setting up a potential courtroom showdown with the judge. The fraud ruling Tuesday threatens to upend his

She was the first woman president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the first woman mayor of San Francisco, and one of two of the first women elected to the U.S. Senate from California. "Dianne Feinstein, right from the start, was an icon for women in politics," said former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Senator Chuck Schumer adds, "She's a legend. A legend in California as the first woman senator. A legend in the Senate. She was the leader on so many different issues."
