An attorney in Venice, California, filed a federal lawsuit on Saturday to bar former President Donald Trump from California’s 2024 presidential primary election, arguing that he is disqualified due to his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, according to a report. (snip) Yagman, according to the Times, was disbarred and served 29 months in federal prison after being convicted in 2007 for tax evasion, bankruptcy fraud, and money laundering, but his law license was later reinstated.

Obviously they still don't get it. Stuff like this just creates more Trump voters. My ultra-liberal friend has been a die hard democrat all her life and even she is furious with all these made up charges and said she will vote for Trump. Keep it up, libs, you're doing good.

Idiot attorney. First PROVE in court that Trump is guilty. Only THEN might your lawsuit have even a smidge of legitimacy. Here in America we aren't supposed to punish based only on an accusation. But then, you live in California - so maybe ya'll do things backwards there.

File away! He hasn't ever been convicted of insurrection, or rebellion. He's been through 3 impeachment votes, and found not guilty. If you do manage to exclude him, we will write him in.

Trump won't win the Commifornia vote either way. But leave him off the ballot, and I'll give him a write-in vote. I'm voting for Trump, whatever they do. Only him coming out as the Beast of Revelation could stop that.

Yagman! Oh, Lord, have mercy! He's been a shill lawyer since he took his first baby steps after cheating on the bar exam. He cut his shyster teeth on bogus police brutality claims against the LAPD, all of which went down in ignominious flames. I had hoped he'd still be bailing drunks out of the tank at Central Division. I guess filing a federal suit against President Trump is way to get his name in the paper one more time. You've got to hand it to the Deranged Ones; if they can't convict someone of a crime in court, they'll sue them over the issue instead! MAGA REVENGE - TRUMP 2024

One of these lawsuits needs to be fast-tracked to SCOTUS to put an end to this once and for all, so that Trump doesn't have to fight these efforts in all 50 states. This may be the strategy. They have to know that this will never pass ultimate scrutiny, but if he had to defend 50 lawsuits, it would be time-consuming and expensive.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito paused an order restricting the Biden administration's communications with social media companies after lower courts ruled officials engaged in censorship practices. Alito's temporary hold on a federal judge's July 4 ruling comes after the Justice Department asked the high court to stay the decision, arguing it infringes on the First Amendment rights of government officials and impedes their duties. A U.S. District Court judge ruled on Thursday that a school district policy requiring teachers to keep preferred pronouns from parents undermines their constitutional rights and “conflicts with knowledgeable medical opinion,” according to the decision. Two teachers, Elizabeth Mirabelli and Lori Ann West, filed a lawsuit against the Escondido Union School District (EUSD) in April after the school board adopted a policy that says if a child identifies as a “new gender, or wants to be addressed by a new name or new pronouns during the school day,” then teachers must withhold it from parents unless given permission by the student, according to the ruling.
