Judge Timothy Kelly sentenced Marine Corps veteran Zachary Rehl to 15 years to life in prison for being in the wrong place at the wrong time — walking through the Capitol building for approximately 20 minutes during the Capitol riot on January 6.
The government sought 33 years life in federal prison for Rehl, the head of the Philadelphia chapter of the Proud Boys, for “his role in the Capitol riot.”
Rehl committed no violent crimes on January 6. He walked through the Capitol building on January 6 for merely a few minutes, took a selfie in the building then left the Capitol grounds.
Prosecutors argue the 37-year-old Marine Corps veteran

This kind of thing should be national and international news, but even Republicans in the U.S. Congress are numb to the J6 political prisoners. 15 to life for a brief stroll through the Capitol that the police allowed. These far left Jurists are the arm pits of society.

I wish he cried because he wanted so badly to do what Marines do, what old school Marines used to do. Instead, "Zachary Rehl broke down crying during his allocution as he read from a prepared statement. He said he regretted letting politics overcome him and wished he had not followed politicians spewing lies about the election because it led him him to lose sight of what’s important."
Can you blame Mr. Trump for the gitback he's promising?

The J6 Nazi Show trials continue. Roland Freislar is smiling from his cell in hell. This is what the ChiComs do, this is what Stalin did. Well done Democrats. You own this, lock and stock. Unfortunately, our RINOs in DC go alone with this. BTW, Dems, the Harry Reid precedent has been set. We wont forget this.

Meanwhile, murderer Mike Byrd, the black Capitol Policeman who gunned down Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt in cold blood, is not only exonerated, but given a raise and a promotion.

Pray Trump becomes the next President so he can pardon all J6 prisoners. Regardless, God will fix the wrongs Democrats crafted.

Number 2, this statement shows that he was successfully reprogrammed and is admitting guilt for something he never did. Reminds me of the final scenes in The Last Emperor. Truly sad.

FTA - "We can no longer fool ourselves. The America we once knew is long gone. We now live under the boot of the regime."
What a difference two and a half years make following the Great Election Fraud of 2020.
Amerika is here. While I questioned the wisdom of anyone entering the capitol building though non-violently while congress was in session on J6 was not the smartest thing to do, a harsh sentence like this is downright evil. But then so are the dims and the left in general. I feel for Rehl. The judge neve even considered that Rehl was remorseful and wanted to repent for his mistake. His real crime? He loves America, as founded.

Ah! So, walking thru the Capitol is “Seditious Conspiracy” but initiating a secret investigation by the Justice Department against your successor the incoming POTUS based on evidence ***you knew to be false*** is...NuttinHoney.

And I am sure that the DoD is already administratively changing their discharge certificates for all veterans convicted in these show trials from Honorable to Dishonorable just to deny them and their families any veteran benefits.

He has a 6 yo daughter and her caretaker, his mom, has cancer. No mention of the girls mom. He’s probably saying what needs to be said to hopefully protect his daughter. Her situation has bothered me since I read this last night. God forbid she gets put in the foster system.

I think we can safely say that lady Justice is no longer blind. I'll grant you that wealth has always allowed the richer criminals to, if not escape the consequences at the least, pay a lighter price for their crimes. What we are seeing now is that the blindfold has been exchanged for a pair of Democratic Shill sunglasses. People who the Dem's support are released from criminal rioting and looting. Walk thru the Capital of the United States, after the security doors had been opened by men in uniforms and masked agitators, gets you slammed in jail for years. Justice my posterior.

Why are the attorneys for J 6ers so ineffective? 15 years for illegally strolling the halls of congress as opposed to 5 for murder? How many and how long are the sentences for the rioters who tore down government buildings in Portland? I believe all those purps were released.

#16, I have the same question. Do these defendants have the worst attorneys or are they Court appointed. If they have court appointed attorneys that explains a lot. These men deserve better and shame on every Republican representative who has one of these defendants as a constituent and has done nothing for them. What cowards in the face of real political prosecution.
As far as the judge goes, he should be impeached and disbarred because the sentence was an abuse of power. He had no weapons, the doors were opened by the Capitol Police, and he merely walked through the building. Trespassing is not sedition. This is a disgusting display of political bias by the judge. Any reasonable person knows the sentence was excessive. The system is not looking to provide justice but to provide a deterrent to anyone who would dare oppose this lawless cabal.
There are so many democrats deserving of this treatment. Nancy Pelosi and her friends at the FBI are at the top of the list. They planned this, executed it and made sure that many people were arrested, tried and convicted on trumped up charges. They even managed to kill a couple women that day. Good job, Nancy. Stalin would be proud.

I consider myself to be fairly well-read on current events, but just who ARE these "Proud Boys"???
It would seem to me that they are being made the SCAPEGOATS to take the blame for all the federal agents who were whipping up the spectators on January 6th, 2021 to go into the Congress.
The tapes of what happened were purposefully kept from the public to HIDE this scam, and when seen show officials OPENING DOORS, and REMOVING BARRIERS to encourage the creation of an "Insurrection" and then piling on charges of "Sedition" and any other thing they could come up with--
People have been detained and are incarcerated for things which were non-violent. This was just the cherry on the plan to steal the election with only a few states electoral margins that Trump had won in 2016 while they claimed the same old 'voter suppression', "uncounted votes', blah blah blah.
Now they are using obscure statutes to try to overturn the Rule of Law to remove Constitutional Law by means of DICTATORIAL overstepping the use of the powers of the Presidency and so that very small margin of Republicans in Congress is exposing the corruption, but will do next to nothing to stand up for those who are the targets of the misuse of power during the Vegetable's first two and half years.
Just in time the media is fearmongering about another Covid-1984 shutdown.
NO.
What sort of mess are we leaving for our children and grandchildren?
A bitter future unless we say NO,

I am sickened by all of this. I thought about going to the demonstration but I live on the West Coast and it was just too far and too expensive. There but for the Grace of God go I. The country I loved is gone, replaced through complete idiocy, greed, and corruption.

#17 - You have judges like Chutkan (also handling Trump's case for J6) and Beryl Howell handing out sentences even harsher than what DOJ recommends. These defendants could have Perry Mason and Alan Dershowitz and these defendants will still be hammered. DC is out to burn everyone involved on J6 who supported Trump. Just read any of Julie Kelly's articles at American Greatness and now Substack at the judicial abuses taking place for over two years now.

15 years to life.
That is what one would expect if they committed manslaughter or second-degree murder. What crime did Zachery Rehl commit? TRESPASSING!
We have corrupt tyrannical government, and we continue to see more evidence of that on an almost daily basis. People ignore it because they think it will never happen to them.
This isn't about Zachery Rehl. It's about our government.

The weirdo guy with the horned Viking helmet was similarly sentenced to a long term, and had his sentence overturned to "time served" at appeal.
I suspect that all these cases will be overturned on appeal. The DC courts are pure Kangaroo Kourts.
