The real problem with racism in America today is that demand far outstrips supply. Where does the demand come from? Chiefly from our woke elites. It is they who understand that the charge of “racism” is a potent meal ticket and guarantor of institutionalized political power. Accordingly, they have a large stake in perpetuating the reign of racism. In this realm, too, incentives matter. It is also worth noting that many of these elite race cadets are white. Blacks are invited to participate in this theatrical production, but only so long as they play their assigned roles. They must mouth the pieties about “systemic,” i.e., perpetual, incurable racism. Why did Hamas terrorists gleefully mass murder civilians in Israel?... And why did the crowds of “civilians” cheer and beat the dead bodies of Israelis paraded in the backs of pickup trucks in Gaza? Further, why do governments and Muslims throughout the world claim to support Hamas and/or the Palestinians? To comprehend all of this, Westerners need to gain an understanding of the religio-political movement called “Islamism.” Islamism is an entirely different phenomenon than Western political parties, and its goals and values are vastly different. Islamism is the 100-year-old movement for Islamic revival, and has been led by Iran since its Islamic revolution in 1979.
According to one estimate I have seen, in 1973 there were only about 13,000 children being homeschooled. Today the number is over 5 million—and may be much higher, as many states do not track the numbers very carefully.
The Washington Post has noticed, and you can tell they are worried about it. (The left has always hated homeschooling, and the teachers unions rightly understand what a threat homeschooling is to their gravy train, as most public schools derive their revenue by how many students are enrolled.)
Sure, you could study hard to get a degree. But at Spelman, where I taught, you could also get a top administrator to change your grades.

A U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employee and two others were arrested for a scheme involving stealing over $24 million in checks from the mail and selling them online, prosecutors say.
The postal worker, Nakedra Shannon, 29, was employed by the USPS as a mail processing clerk at a processing and distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina.
Shannon allegedly worked alongside two co-conspirators, Donnell Gardner, 27, and Desiray Carter, 24, to steal incoming and outgoing checks from April to July 2023. The co-conspirators then sold the checks through the Telegram channel “OG Glass House,” per the statement.
The Washington Post reported Saturday night (in Israel, Sunday morning) that a tentative deal had been reached in which there would be a five-day pause in fighting in Gaza in exchange for the release of at least 50 female and child hostages by Hamas.
No men would be released under the deal, and no male or female soldiers, according to the Post, which cited unnamed officials describing an agreement brokered by the U.S. and Qatar as intermediaries between Israel and the Hamas terror organization.

Carter passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home in Plains, Georgia, the center said in a statement.

Wall Street financiers are looking to Nikki Haley as the candidate to pull the 2024 Republican nomination away from former President Donald Trump, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Haley is currently placing third in national polling at 9.5% behind Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida at 14.3% and Trump at 59.7%, according to Real Clear Politics. Despite this, Wall Street is considering Haley as a viable alternative to Trump in the 2024 primaries, with some saying that they are “desperate” to keep the former president from becoming the nominee, according to the WSJ.
