Can Trump Get an "Impartial Jury" in DC?
What the Law Requires

What should happen... when it is virtually impossible for the defendant to get an impartial jury in that state or district? The prosecution of Donald Trump for the events around January 6, 2021 would seem to call for a change of venue. The District of Columbia is the most extreme Democratic district in the country. Approximately 95% of the potential jurors register and vote Democrat. Whereas approximately 5% voted for Trump. Furthermore, the anger against Trump is understandable in light of the fact that the events of January 6th directly involved many citizens of the district.

A city that runs on "union" politics, Washington DC needs to be turned into the world's largest open air Museum with all its present activities busted up and moved to other regions of the country. The Federal Employees Union must be disbanded by the same Executive Order that created it under JFK's pen.

Does anyone believe this judge was 'randomly selected'? Just by chance she is handing out some of the harshest possible sentences for Jan. 6th attendees.

It's a typo, #4. Note also that this unedited article repeats itself, making the article twice as long as it really is. No editors at "Gatestone Institute."

Sorry Allen - very few if any residents of DC were directly affected by January 6. The US Capitol Police - they all live in Maryland or Virginia - DC is too expensive for them. Although DC residents were affected by the riot after Trump's Inauguration in January 2017 and very few were prosecuted - same for the riots of the summer 2020.

how about an estimate of 95% of those in D.C. who voted demcommie, work for the federal government in one way or another -- like not biting the hand that feeds you. - I still don't understand what or why so many people say they don't like our President - what did he do that was so bad except try to silence a troglodyte like comrade jim acosta at events where members of the press were allowed to ask questions "but, but, but, but" the comrade wouldn't stop asking his questions?

President Trump in DC today has the same chance of getting an impartial jury as a black man in the deep south during the KKK era. The common factor: The Deep South and the KKK, and today's Washington DC..... are dominated by DEMOC'RATS!

It is sometimes said that the prosecutions of former President Donald Trump are "backfiring" on Democrats. That is, instead of lowering Trump's political support, they are raising it. That is indeed happening among Republicans and some independents. But many Democrats still hope the cumulative weight of multiple indictments -- there will soon be four, when the Georgia case is added to the New York case and the two federal cases -- will make it impossible for Trump to win the general election.

We are told climate change is a crisis, and that there is an "overwhelming scientific consensus." "It's a manufactured consensus," says climate scientist Judith Curry in my new video. She says scientists have an incentive to exaggerate risk to pursue "fame and fortune."She knows about that because she once spread alarm about climate change. Media loved her when she published a study that seemed to show a dramatic increase in hurricane intensity. "We found that the percent of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes had doubled," says Curry. "This was picked up by the media," and then climate alarmists realized, "Oh, here is the way to do it.

Proterra, an electric bus company that received heavy backing from President Joe Biden’s administration, filed for bankruptcy on Monday. The Burlingame, California-based EV company has been a source of controversy for the Biden administration because Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm hyped the company in her official capacity despite the fact that she previously served on Proterra’s board and held over a million dollars worth of stock in the company even after she was confirmed as the head of Biden’s Energy Department.

The thousands of migrants recently flooding into the Big Apple are facing a new round of pushback — from New York City immigrants. First-generation Brooklyn immigrants were up in arms Sunday over City Hall jamming dozens of newly arrived male asylum-seekers into the Sunset Park Recreation Center, saying the facility has long been a beloved community staple — until now.“People are really upset from the community,” said a first-generation Chinese immigrant who only gave her name as Chen. “All the people use this facility from this community. “So right now you take away all the benefit to us and give it to them? WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump’s defense attorney says the former president never asked Mike Pence to overturn the will of the voters in the 2020 election, but only wanted the former vice president to “pause” the certification of votes to allow states to investigate his claims of election fraud. Those baseless claims had already been rejected by numerous courts.Speaking on several Sunday morning news shows, Trump attorney John Lauro said Trump was within his First Amendment rights when he petitioned Pence to delay the certification on Jan. 6, 2021.

Mayor Eric Adams issued a dire warning to President Biden, cautioning that the lack of federal funding to help the migrant crisis will eventually “decimate” the Big Apple — which serves as the “economic engine” of the country. Adams slammed border states for creating a “funnel” to New York on “CBS Mornings” Thursday, saying, “New York City is the economic engine of this entire state and country. If you decimate this city, you’re going to decimate the foundation of what’s happening.” That foundation finally began to crumble earlier this month as dozens of migrants were left sleeping on the streets of Midtown outside the intake center at the Roosevelt Hotel
