How Gretchen Whitmer Made Michigan a Democratic Stronghold

Original Article

When Gretchen Whitmer first emerged as the likely Democratic candidate for governor of Michigan, in late 2017, the mayor of Detroit, Mike Duggan, circulated a memo urging labor unions and Democrats to find a better-known figure to lead the ticket. Duggan wanted Senator Gary Peters to run; the United Auto Workers preferred Representative Dan Kildee. But neither member of Congress wanted anything to do with Lansing. Mark Bernstein, a politically connected Ann Arbor personal-injury lawyer, recalled that, while watching a University of Michigan basketball game at Duggan’s house, the Mayor tried to persuade him to get in the race.

In Michigan, there were 7 people on the voter rolls older than the oldest known people in the world. One, recorded as being born in 1850, voted twice in 2020. If they can't check for a REAL age of a registered voter, how accurate is ANYthing about the voter rolls? And yes, the governor went to court to fight to NOT purge the rolls of the dead and those moved. How did she stay in? Fraud.

Democrats are clustered in Detroit and Ann Arbor, with Detroit having one of the most corrupt vote counting apparatuses in the country. The rest of us despise her.

Whitmer has been able to hold on to her power by playing the right people and donors but her latest miscalculation of betting on both unions and green energy policies is going to kill her state's chief industry, automotive, and the unions will blame her as they die. Senate Democrats are advancing a doomed Supreme Court “ethics” bill that would withhold $10 million in funding from Chief Justice John Roberts until the Supreme Court has “put into effect a code” for all justices. The Senate doesn’t have the power to dictate how the Supreme Court conducts its business — any more than SCOTUS has the power to prescribe rules for the Senate. They know it. Then again, the effort to intimidate and delegitimize the court is meant to corrode constitutional governance, so perhaps the bill makes a certain amount of perverse sense.

Biden’s corrupt Justice Department is seeking a December 11 trial date in Jack Smith’s classified documents case. This is brazen election interference. If Judge Aileen grants the DOJ’s request, the trial date will begin just weeks before the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses. The Iowa Caucuses are starting earlier this election cycle and will take place on January 15, 2024. Judge Cannon set the trial date for August 14 but Trump’s lawyers asked to indefinitely postpone the trial. Justice Department lawyers on Thursday filed a motion pushing back on Trump’s legal team and asked the Judge to proceed with jury selection on December 11, 2023.
