Speaking in South Carolina today, presidential candidate Ron DeSantis blamed President Trump for the events of January 6, 2021, in Washington DC saying, “I think it was shown how he was in the White House and didn’t do anything while things were going on. Should he have come out more forcefully? Of course.” However, DeSantis affirmed he does not believe Trump’s transgressions amounted to criminal conduct. “But to try to criminalize that, that’s a different issue entirely,”(snip) Governor DeSantis then tacked to his preferred position that politicians should not be criminally targeted(snip) you don’t have one side just constantly trying to put the other side in jail.”

Goodbye, DeSantis, then. I won't vote for him even if he did win the nomination with that attitude. Back when Kennedy was assassinated, a LOT of people knew that LBJ and the Democrats were at least accomplices. They held back because of Russia's nuclear threat if we seemed divided. That threat and worse is still there, but I don't think we can wait any longer.

Note to Ron .... It IS OK to try to put people in jail if those people committed honest to goodness crimes. Something like selling secrets to foreign governments, creating fake dossiers and seeking to prosecute people based on it/them. I could go on and on. Oh, and Ron if you want to know who really was behind Jan 6, look no further than Nancy Pelosi and her gang of accomplices. You've done yourself no favors with this one, kiddo. But on the plus side you have revealed your true colors well before 2028 which had you played your cards much differently could have been your year. The more DeSantis talks, the less his support. These cowardly comments will put him in the single digits. Pelosi and McConnell were in charge of the Capitol. Why no blame there, DeSantis? Why no outrage out thousands of people held without bail for over 2 years? The brazen disregard for the suffering of the people in the DC jail is unforgivable.

The Title of the article is hyperbole. DeSantis said Trump could have done more to quiet the crowd, he didn't "blame " him for an insurrection (there was no insurrection), it was a protest. Trump has stated that DeSantis hopes that he goes to jail. And that is DeSantis best shot. If Trump is convicted of "insurrection" by law he cannot hold public office.

This publication gets more reckless every day. Within this article are DeSantis's direct quotes. He did not blame Trump for causing the riot (and yes it was a riot) at the Capitol. He said, as have said many others, that he didn't do enough after the riot erupted. A main complaint is that Trump didn't issue a statement that supposedly would cool the angry people who broke into the building. I don't think a tweet would have calmed those who were violent. The president doesn't control the Capitol police. He offered the National Guard in advance of the speech and was rebuffed by Pelosi and the useless mayor of DC. Still, Sundance's headline is, as is the case far too often, false.

Our government is corrupt. Both parties. We don't need fewer investigations. We need more. Our 'leaders' sell their services to anyone with the money, including America's enemies. Someone ask DeSantis if he thinks Biden should be investigated and ask him if he thinks the Biden investigation is politically motivated. Someone ask DeSantis does he think Biden committed any crimes. What's he going to do about it? He wants to bring back civility? Our government has practically wrecked the country. Doubt our government actually governs. Don't think civility is a high priority at this point.

Could the Republican candidates stop attacking each other? Focus on the failure of Democrat policies. To be fair, Ron DeSantis, it does not represent well when you smear Donald Trump. Oh, and by the way, nobody had a problem in 2016 when three states had to do a recount. I guess when Hillary or the third-party candidate wants a recount, it is okay but when Donald Trump asks for it, now it is insurrection.

I believe this is what they used to call "yellow journalism". DeSantis DID NOT blame Trump for January 6. He only suggested that Trump should have come out with a more forceful statement. That may or may not be true, but for reckless propagandist "Sundance" to deliberately mischaracterize the governor's remarks is despicable and destructive. DeSantis DID NOT say that Democrats believed to have committed crimes should not be prosecuted. He DID SAY that the criminal law should not be used (i.e., dishonestly manipulated) for purposes of targeting one's political opponents. That is a very sound, pro-American idea, and DeSantis should be commended in this instance, not condemned. There is nothing of "reach across the aisle" in the governor's remarks. But, leave it to "Sundance" to rile people up and mislead them. Folks, hot-headed reaction is NOT the path to electoral victory.

I would love to ask an insipid leftist democrat of RINO just how was PDJT responsible for J6? This is the question that any reasonable person can't answer. PDJT said go over to the Capitol and let your voices PEACEFULLY be heard. I'm beyond tired of the propaganda line that it was an insurrection. As it was proven that federal agents and their informants like Ray Epps were in the crowd making sure that American citizens were shuffled into the Capitol through open barricades and unlocked doors by a small number of Capitol police. Some like Michael Leroy Byrd aka Barney Fife were holly incompetent but of course armed. For a Republican running for POTUS to place blame where it doesn't belong and to let the ones who benefited from the lie to not be held accountable is a sign of cowardice and I for one will NEVER vote for someone like that.

Enough is enough! The Big Apple’s migrant crisis is spiraling so far out of control that fed-up businesses say they’re taking a financial hit as the chaotic influx of asylum seekers pouring into the city spills out of city-run mega shelters and onto the streets. From families sprawled out on busy Midtown sidewalks, grown men brawling and even mini tent cities popping up – frustrated New Yorkers say the asylum seeker mess has now well and truly become a plague that’s showing no signs of easing.(Snip)City Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island), however, lashed out at Adams for pushing the Big Apple as a sanctuary city in the first place.

WASHINGTON — President Biden’s nearly two-year-old German shepherd Commander bit seven people in a four-month period after former first dog Major was ousted from the White House over similar aggressive behavior, according to internal Secret Service communications reviewed by The Post. The shocking spate of incidents involving Commander — none of them previously known — mirror attacks involving Major, who the White House says was given to family friends after biting many Secret Service members in 2021.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has called upon the Republican donor class to start pressuring low-polling GOP candidates into dropping out of the 2024 presidential race to defeat Trump. Romney issued his call in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Monday. He said that the donor class needs to pressure candidates with no path to drop out by February of next year at the very latest.“Despite Donald Trump’s apparent inevitability, a baker’s dozen Republicans are hoping to become the party’s 2024 nominee for president,” he wrote. “That is possible for any of them if the field narrows to a two-person race before Mr. Trump has the nomination sewn up.”

A majority of Americans - and an overwhelming number of Democrats - no longer support First Amendment protections for free speech. The government should restrict “false” information online, even if doing so blocks people from “publishing or accessing information,” 55 percent of Americans said in a large poll released Thursday. Only 42 percent disagreed. The antipathy to free speech represents a sea change in attitudes in just five years. It is driven by a powerful new hostility to First Amendment rights on the left. In an identically worded poll five years ago, Democrats and Republicans favored free speech online by roughly 3 to 2 margins. Today

He had gone out paddle boarding on the calm water last night, and was seen falling off the board before becoming completely submerged. (Snip) The Obamas paid tribute to him as a 'beloved part of their family.' They were on the island on Sunday night but not at the residence at the time of the accident, according to their office.

This is not a surprise. This is not disappointing. This is not unexpected. (snip)Keep in mind, the Florida legislature was pressured by the governor’s office to change the political sunlight laws – just so DeSantis could obfuscate his travel expenses and hide that he was flying around the country on private jets owned by billionaires and multinational corporations.(snip)That “insurgent underdog” spin is particularly laughable when you consider that Karl Rove, the RGA, Paul Ryan, Ed Rollins, Jeb Bush and the entire apparatus of the approved republican coalition are aligned with Ron DeSantis. What exactly is the party selected candidate running as an insurgent against?

Joe Biden on Tuesday signed a proclamation to establish the ‘Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument in Illinois and Mississippi.’ Biden delivered remarks at the White House and his speech was full of lies. Joe Biden absurdly boasted about his time as a public defender. “It was a lesson I learned coming out of — not like real leaders in the civil rights movement — but when I came out of the civil rights movement as a kid as a public defender…” Biden said.
