Ron DeSantis’s allies were eager to regain momentum on the eve of his presidential campaign launch in May. Supporters gleefully predicted the sheer buzz from a splashy announcement — live on Twitter — would rival Donald Trump’s 2015 ride down a golden escalator. Fundraisers were upbeat as they convened at the Four Seasons Miami, some convinced Trump’s daunting lead would shrink as DeSantis finally got in the race. CORRECTIONS*

There are men created for times such as these and Ron DeSantis is not one of those men. Those men have gone through fire, have a core belief system that is unshakeable, are willing to stand when most men would not, and will never ever give up. Anyone looking at our present situation knows it is anything but normal. We are in an exceptional time that requires an exceptional leader. It is going to take an enormous effort to win this and we need everyone who loves this country to unite against this foul cabal. This is not politics as usual and we cannot pretend it is. We have to break the back of the democrat party. Period. I want the guy with the proven record of national accomplishments and unwavering resolve to lead us because I trust him to do the best thing for the country. He will not let us down or bow to the Republican ruling class. He is fully committed to hard working Americans and he will put the country first.

I firmly believe that what is happening to Ron DeSantis is what happened to Donald Trump during his four years of presidency. They are listening to the wrong source. It would seem that they are men of faith, but yet their actions seem like they don't even seek God's ways in leadership.
Look at this statement from Mike Pence concerning U.S. cities: "Pence responded, “Well, it’s not my concern. Tucker I’ve heard that routine from you before, but it’s not my concern. I’m running for President of the United States because I think this country is in a lot of trouble.”
Mike Pence is a faithful man (or he says he is) but where on earth does he get this advice? He is asking to be the president of the USA but thinks another country is more important and not the crumbling cities of the USA.
I have no idea if leaders are seeking advice from someone else or just leaning on their own understanding but it is becoming clear that seeking God seems to be farther and farther away.

More like a long series of amateur-level mistakes. I had been thinking that DeSantis should wait until 2028 but now I think it's going to take longer than that. It's unfortunate because he is basically a good man.

To my surprise I found this article from one of the Democrat Party’s most influential mouthpieces quite informative. While obviously on board the “Get Trump Nominated” train, the flaws in the DeSantis campaign, discussed in this article, are real and troubling.
Because Trump, a great president, was robbed in 2020, I emotionally feel that for justice to prevail he deserves to win in 2024. Rationally I have grave doubts that he can beat Biden. He is damaged goods, mostly due to the malevolence he faced from the Democrats but also in part due to missteps he made. Because of that he is as unpopular as Biden and I see zero effort on his part to get more love from the squishy middle, who swing elections.
I haven’t decided for whom I’ll vote in the primary. I certainly don’t believe that Trump is the only man who can get this country back on track. If DeSantis doesn’t shape up Trump may be the only choice we have.

I stopped reading as soon as I came across
"The Washington Post"
directly under the title.
I have consumed enough of their poison over the years.
I don't need any more.

Let’s see. We don’t read anythng WaPo that s negative to DeSantis. Ditto Politico (though many in the DeS ampaign were interviewed. And on and on. And we don’t read anything negative to DeSantis on CTH (a demonstrably Conservative site of long standing). And there are others.
Guess what? Some don’t want to read anything that might be negativet to DeSantis no matter where it is published.

Once again, excuses for not reading an article - that as it turns out is not all bad news for DeS - but let’s just duck it and blame it on the WaPo.
FTA:
More than seven weeks in, skepticism about the Florida governor’s 2024 bid has grown. Some people who have advised and supported DeSantis have raised private concerns about his message, and the effectiveness and insularity of his campaign operation, according to people familiar with the comments, among the more than 30 people interviewed for this story.
The doubts extend to long-friendly Fox News — where a recent headline asked, “Will DeSantis sink and fade out?” — and its owner, the conservative media magnate Rupert Murdoch, according to another person who speaks regularly with Murdoch about the presidential race. “He was excited about him at the beginning, but the more he shows himself, the less appealing he is,”
Remember that the WaPo hates Trump, so they won’t - at this stage - go all in against DeS. Just picking up on signs and doing their own interviewing.
