Special counsel Jack Smith’s team has signaled a continued interest in a chaotic Oval Office meeting that took place in the final days of the Trump administration, during which the former president considered some of the most desperate proposals to keep him in power over objections from his White House counsel.

The U.S. is expected to announce as early as Friday that it will provide controversial cluster munitions to Ukraine as part of a new military aid package in the fight against Russian invaders, two U.S. officials tell ABC News.
The decision to send the munitions will be made by President Joe Biden. Numerous countries have banned the use of cluster munitions, which can risk civilian deaths and injuries when bomblets fail to initially explode after being deployed. The weapons pack such bomblets into rockets, bombs, missiles and artillery shells that break apart midair and scatter the munitions over a large area.

The bag of powder was found in a cubby near the White House's West Executive entrance, not the formal West Wing lobby, NBC News reported citing multiple sources.
That entrance - which is in the West Wing but on the floor below the lobby - is also a heavily trafficked area, a description White House officials have used as a way to explain their doubts the culprit will be found.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), an election integrity group, has filed a federal lawsuit against North Dakota election officials for the state’s law allowing mail-in ballots to be accepted and counted after election day.
On Thursday, PILF filed the lawsuit in the district court, claiming that North Dakota’s law that allows state election officials to accept and count mail-in ballots up to 13 days after election day violates federal law.
“Election day has ceased to be a day,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement. “Instead, we have election month because states accept ballots that arrive days and even weeks after election day.”

U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart wrote Wednesday that more sealed parts of the affidavit that was used in the FBI raid in August 2022 “should be unsealed.” However, the entirety of the affidavit shouldn’t be unsealed, he wrote, giving the Department of Justice (DOJ) until July 13 to appeal.
