The Democrats’ Definition Of Democracy

"The meaning of peace,” Karl Marx said, “is the absence of opposition to socialism.” To the Soviets, peace was the state in which resistance to their territorial and philosophical ambitions was not only futile, it was fatal. If Democrats were as straightforward as their philosophical consigliere, they would define democracy, which they refer to in worshipful tones, as the absence of any challenge to their political power. Given how that party has continually revealed its authoritarian core, there can be no other explanation. We’ve argued before that the Democrats don’t want to govern under constitutional limits but instead rule without constraint,

Were there is Socialism, there will never be peace because where there is socialism, there is economic failure and that must be blamed on opposition to socialism. Socialism is false economics.

In Biden’s ‘Bidenomics Is Working’ Speech

“I’m happy to call it ‘Bidenomics.’ And guess what? Bidenomics is working.” In a 30-minute speech in Chicago this week, President Joe Biden declared that his economic policies — which can charitably be summed up as “borrow and spend, tax and regulate” — are doing wonders for the nation’s economy. Never mind that just 38% of Americans approve of the job Biden has been doing on the economy. No. The only risk we face, Biden argued, was a return of that bogeyman known as “trickle-down economics.”

An Axios story over the weekend carried the headline: “Biden’s 2024 vision: Play 2020 again.” If true, that means Joe Biden will be running against himself, because the attacks he lodged against then-President Donald Trump four years ago – on the economy, on COVID, on disunity, on corruption – all look worse today. Before COVID, for example, Biden was attacking the economy, arguing that, despite the 40-year low unemployment rate in late 2019, things were worse than ever. In a speech Biden gave in Scranton, Pa., in October of that year, he talked about an interview he’d done with “60 Minutes,”

It’s hard to notice amid the hullabaloo over The Donald’s and Hunter’s legal challenges. But lookit who’s vying for the coveted “Christian Conservative lane” in the GOP presidential sweepstakes – along with the close-akin anti-woke capital corridor. “I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican — in that order,” erstwhile Trump veep Mike Pence trumpeted in launching his candidacy in … hmmmm … Iowa a couple of weeks back. Ya don’t say. Sure could’ve fooled the “Christians-and-conservatives-in-that-order” of your somewhat-slighted Hoosier State.

Like the posse chasing Butch and Sundance, they don’t get tired, or hungry, or slow down, or even break formation. But unlike that posse, they’ll never catch what they’re chasing. To listen to the climate alarmists, the casual observer would be convinced that the incineration of Earth due to combustion that produces carbon dioxide is imminent. As in next year … or maybe next week. Here’s Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Democrat from Michigan: “We have to be much more aggressive

Once upon a time, Democratic presidents understood how important a healthy economy was. President Bill Clinton and his advisers won two elections living by the mantra, “It’s the economy, stupid.” Get that right, they thought, and everything else follows. But today, Americans think President Joe Biden doesn’t get it, June’s I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from May 31-June 2 and including responses from 1,358 adults nationwide, asked the following: “To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statement: The American economy remains strong, as it transitions to steady and stable growth.”

It was clear from the beginning that charges of “collusion” between Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 election were phony — a cheap, and illegal, political trick. But they did their damage. While Trump beat Hillary Clinton, there has since been a non-stop Democratic Party-led campaign to tar him as a “traitor” or worse. And, as the recent testimony of Special Counsel John Durham to Congress shows, Clinton lay behind this scheme to defraud American voters and throw an election. So, today, despite powerful evidence of official wrongdoing, we’re back where we were some seven years ago.

Watching President Joe Biden try to make his way through a speech is painful enough. Reading a transcript of it is worse. Not just because Biden’s words are even more confusing in print, but because you start to feel a strong sense of pity for the person responsible for figuring out what he is trying to say, how much of it to transcribe verbatim, and which facts to correct. We looked through Biden’s remarks from just this month and found 15 instances where the transcriber felt compelled to make corrections on things the president said. Here’s an example from one 11-minute speech he gave over the weekend in Palo Alto.

Summer arrives in the Northern Hemisphere on Wednesday and it’s likely to be a cruel one in the countries where policymakers are forcing a green energy transition. Enlightened, these people are not. There’s a lot of truth to the old joke that goes: “What did socialists use before candles? Electricity.” The green energy “revolution” is taking us backward, to an era in which there won’t be enough electricity to meet the demand. Members of the House Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security were told last week to expect “potentially catastrophic consequences” due to dispatchable

Companies, schools, amusement parks and even professional sports teams that have gone “woke” and adopted “diversity, equity and inclusion” measures are alienating many customers, leading to a drop in business, reports indicate. The latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows why: A strong plurality of Americans oppose such social activism rather than support it. In recent months, companies as varied as Anheuser-Busch, Disney, and Target; the Los Angeles Dodgers; and major universities have suffered financial and reputational damage for pushing controversial DEI social and cultural issues on customers, fans and students. To get to the bottom of this backlash, we asked

Speaking Wednesday evening before the League of Conservation Voters’ annual dinner, Biden waxed ineloquently: “We’re talking about building — and I had my team putting together with other countries as well — to build a railroad from the Pacific Ocean

The Supreme Court has ruled that it is unlawful for colleges and universities to use race as a factor in admissions, overturning rulings from as far back as 1978 that claimed institutions of higher education had a valid interest in promoting racial diversity on campus and could thus give favorable consideration to black and Latino applicants in their admissions process. Two separate decisions were reached in which the nation’s highest court ruled that Harvard University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill engaged in unlawful discriminatory practices based on race that violated the Constitution.

Michigan's state House of Representatives has passed bill HB 4474, a piece of legislation that criminalizes causing someone to feel threatened by words. Under the new bill, offenders are "guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $10,000."

WASHINGTON − President Joe Biden plans to announce "new actions to protect student loan borrowers," the White House said Friday, after the Supreme Court overturned his signature program to eliminate up to $20,000 in student loan debt for millions of Americans. The court's 6-3 decision dashed the hopes of 26 million people who applied for student loan cancellation since Biden took the action last August, putting pressure on the Biden to find other ways for debt relief. "While we strongly disagree with the court, we prepared for this scenario. The president will have more to say today," a White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said.

The first official could not say whether any of the American gear was sold illicitly to China but said determining whether any of it came from illegal trade was a topic of serious concern
