Michigan House passes bill making wrong
pronouns a felony, fineable up to $10,000

Original Article

A recently passed bill in Michigan would make it a felony to intimidate someone by using the wrong gender pronouns. Michigan's state House of Representatives has passed bill HB 4474, a piece of legislation that criminalizes causing someone to feel threatened by words. Under the new bill, offenders are "guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $10,000."

Comments:

If approved by the state senate, it will be sent for approval to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who is expected to sign it.

Not constitutional, but that won't keep them from throwing people in jail for violating it. With today's courts someone will probably have to take it all the way to SCOTUS before it's thrown out, and even then one never knows.

Oh really? And what will be the standard for determining if someone felt "threatened" by use of the wrong pronouns?? Will it be the "reasonable person" standard (in which case few will ever be convicted because the whole thing is crazy on its face) or will it be entirely subjective and based on the "feelings" of the "victim"? Michigan, you are out of control. I hope it does become law so it can be challenged in the courts.

Harvard students who blamed Israel for the massacre of its citizens by Hamas had their own future thrown into doubt last night as a host of blue chip CEOs declared them unemployable. The elite university faced a massive backlash after 31 of its student societies issued a joint statement ‘holding the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence’. The Anti-Defamation League denounced the statement as ‘anti-Semitic’ and others accused the university of tolerating hate speech. But Wall Street appears even less forgiving with billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman revealing that his fellow bosses want to know who they are so ‘none of us inadvertently hire any of their members’.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Monday ordered a "complete siege" on Gaza following the killing and kidnapping of civilians in southern Israel by Hamas terrorist fighters on Saturday. "We are fighting against human animals, and we act accordingly," he said.
