Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who dominated politics in Scotland for years, was arrested Sunday by police investigating the finances of the governing, pro-independence Scottish National Party. Police Scotland said a 52-year-old woman was detained “as a suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation into the funding and finances of the Scottish National Party.” “The woman is in custody and is being questioned by Police Scotland detectives,” the force said. UK police do not name suspects until they are charged. The BBC and other media outlets identified the arrested woman as Sturgeon. The party did not immediately comment.

Ron DeSantis Calls Gavin Newsom Out 0 replies

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) might be Patient Zero for a new condition: DeSantis Derangement Syndrome. Newsom is in many ways the Bizarro DeSantis — governing a state with an enviable climate and incredible natural beauty. And just as DeSantis is fighting many of his state’s political wars from the right side of the aisle, Newsom hits from the opposite side. While Newsom has aimed his arrows at other red states — with billboards hyping the “freedom” of California as well as the state’s abortion tourism industry — he particularly loves to go after DeSantis and Florida. He even bought ad time on television in the Sunshine State encouraging Floridians

The Ron DeSantis campaign on Thursday slammed a Space Force lieutenant general who admitted that she discriminated against qualified service members for military assignments if she believed they or their family would not be “safe” being stationed in a state with “anti-LGBTQ” laws, such as in Florida. The campaign tweeted: SHOCKING: Space Force Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt admits the U.S. military discriminates against Floridians when considering promotions — leading to “less qualified” officers — because @RonDeSantis banned trans surgeries for KIDS. DeSantis will end this woke insanity on Day One. Space Force Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt last week, during a Pentagon Pride Month ceremony, blasted “anti-LGBTQ+” legislation as “dangerous”

The Air National Guardsman accused of posting a trove of classified documents to social media has been formally indicted on six counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information related to national defense, the Justice Department announced on Thursday. Jack Teixeira, a junior enlisted airman who worked within the Massachusetts Air National Guard’s 102nd Intelligence Wing, was arrested in April and charged under the Espionage Act. He allegedly took classified information from Otis Air National Guard Base and is accused of posting the information to Discord, a popular social media platform among gamers.

Donald Trump Jr. could get some unwanted publicity if a judge releases “offensive” emails that reportedly include derogatory remarks about Jews and Mexicans. The Wall Street Journal reported that emails written years ago between Don Jr., his good friend Gentry Beach, and other businessmen, could be made public. The emails reportedly include disparaging comments about Jews and Mexicans, are considered a “side battle” to a case filed by Beach some 15 years ago against his former hedge fund employer, Touradji Capital Management. Those messages just recently became relevant again thanks to a retrial in the hedge fund case.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo is set to formally endorse Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee for mayor of Houston. Hidalgo is expected to make the official announcement at an event in Mickey Leland Memorial Park on Thursday. The Harris County judge has a strained relationship with Jackson Lee’s main rival for the seat, State Sen. John Whitmire. Whitmire declined to support Hidalgo during her run for re-election last year, even though both are Democrats. Earlier this week, Whitmire announced an endorsement from former Congressman Gene Green. Some of the more notable candidates include: Lee, Whitmire, attorney Lee Kaplan, former METRO board chair Gilbert Garcia, current council member Robert Gallegos,

A report says the child abusers and fetishists at Disney hired a gay porn star to portray a merman (are we assuming gender now, Disney?) in the studio’s latest flop, The Little Mermaid (2023). “Disney accidentally cast a porn star in The Little Mermaid,” reports the National Post. Among “those hired for the job was 24-year-old Stefano Tomadini, who has also made adult movies under the alias Dante Ferrari.” A source told The Sun newspaper: “Casting bosses decided to hire a number of really sexy male models to play mermen in the movie. “They had no idea about Stefano’s racy videos and, given ‘The Little Mermaid’ is the big

I was fortunate to be in a position to meet and confer with Governor Newsom to discuss our respective cases regarding the migrant flights. Joe Biden spoke to a crowd at the League of Conservation Voters’ annual Capitol dinner on Wednesday evening, and during his speech, he suffered multiple malfunctions. Some of those came in a battle with the teleprompter while others came in a battle with himself. He also made several comments that were just flatly untrue. Here’s the president fumbling over his words in an attempt to blame the United States for “climate change.” We’ll get to the senility in a moment. Believe that. But first, I just want to touch on how out-of-line it is that a US politician would speak about his own country in such demeaning terms.

Archaeologists have hailed the discovery of an “extraordinary” bronze sword found at a burial site in Bavaria, the weapon incredibly well preserved by the fine soil of the area. A sword of the 14th century B.C. “Middle Bronze Age” — making the weapon over 3,000 years old — has been unearthed in a state of “extraordinary” preservation. According to a statement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Protection who investigated the “very rare” find, the two-and-a-half-foot-long sword does not have signs of use but appears to have been made for practical rather than ceremonial purposes and is balanced fore-heavy to suggest it was meant for a slashing type of attack.

Months after the onset of the Covid pandemic, State Department officials came to the conclusion that the outbreak could have been contained had Chinese Communist Party officials acted to prevent the viral spread rather than trying to conceal its existence, according to newly released cables. The heavily redacted cables, obtained by the public-health transparency group U.S. Right to Know, were sent from July 2020 to January 2021 and include the heading: “Initial Outbreak Could Have Been Contained in China if Beijing Had Not Covered It Up.” The cables appear to have been sourced through the American Institute in Taiwan, which functions as a de facto U.S. embassy. The Justice Department has warned the PGA Tour that it plans to investigate its merger with the Saudi-backed tour LIV Golf over antitrust concerns, sources with knowledge of the matter told the Wall Street Journal. A DOJ probe could jeopardize and threaten to significantly delay the partnership, which PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan called “transformational” earlier this month. When the agreement was announced, the parties were set to combine their commercial businesses and rights into a new entity. LIV Golf Investments, the firm spearheading the LIV tour, is backed by the Saudi government’s sovereign wealth fund. Over the last year, LIV and the PGA have been entangled in multiple antitrust lawsuits.

America's first black president took aim at black Republican senator Tim Scott for saying his party was 'doing a fabulous job of making progress.' Scott launched his run for president last month on an optimistic platform and has put his own story of struggle at the center of his campaign, with a philosophy that suggests everyone can succeed if they want to. But former President Barack Obama said in a podcast released on Thursday that it was time for the Republican Party to get real about how systemic racism shaped the nation's history.

It would have fined him $16 million, half the special counsel investigation’s cost.

That was apparently one of the “strange thoughts” she admitted to having lately. Amid their conversation about Trump’s documents indictment and how it could play out in the elections and beyond, Goldberg shared that she’s been growing increasingly scared of Trump becoming president again

Paul F. Ryan declared on Black Tuesday that the federal indictment of former president Trump makes Trump unelectable in 2024. I hasten to put this backstabbing comment into context. Last November, Ryan predicted that Mr. Trump would lose the 2024 presidential election. Earlier this year, Ryan announced that if the former president is the Republican candidate in 2024, he will not go to the party's convention, to be held in Milwaukee, this July. Ryan is from Wisconsin. It should also be noted that in October 2016, Ryan declared that he will not campaign for, nor defend, Mr. Trump, then the GOP presidential candidate.

In a 225-196 vote, lawmakers decided to set aside the censure resolution against Schiff, effectively killing it and preventing a vote on passage. The resolution, introduced by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., was opposed by 20 Republicans as two other GOP lawmakers voted "present" along with five Democrats. The resolution was known to be on shaky ground with some Republicans. Middle schoolers in Massachusetts were accused of “intolerance and homophobia” after they reportedly revolted against a Pride celebration at the school and chanted that their pronouns were “USA.” Some students at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington were accused of organizing a protest against a school-approved spirit day celebrating Pride Month, which encouraged students to wear rainbow colors, earlier this month. The event was led by the Spectrum Club, an LGBT club for students and “allies.” In response, some students reportedly wore only red, white, and blue colored clothing and chanted, “U.S.A. are my pronouns,” and took down LGBT-themed banners and stickers.
