The ‘Pick a Moderate’ Canard

Original Article

A narrative that I’ve been hearing for a while, most recently from my children, is the one that posits how much better the GOP would fare in presidential races if only it nominated “moderates.” Never mind that this hypothesis has already been tested numerous times—e.g., during the campaigns of such luminaries as the two Bush presidents, John McCain, Robert Dole, and Mitt Romney. Each time a putative moderate has received the Republican nomination and run for president, the media has pounced on that person with a vengeance, and before long these media targets are made to resemble the Grand Kleagle of the KKK

God has made himself very clear when it comes to the choice between right and wrong, good & evil. Revelation 3:16 “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” I’m done with trying to choose the lesser of two evils. If those who want to lead US aren’t strong enough to stand for the good of this country, & think it’s possible to compromise with those who obviously stand for things that are condemned in God’s word, they are doing more harm than good. None of us are perfect. We all have our flaws. But, we can do our best to stand for the things that are pleasing to the One who is perfect. If this flawed human is sick to my stomach at the things happening in this country, I’m fairly certain America is about to be vomited out if we don’t begin making more righteous choices very quickly.

Listen up, folks. I voted for these “moderates “ simply because they were better (not much) and because they, as worthless as they were, were better than the radical communists that the Dems put on the ticket. I know it was a Hobson’s choice but for God’s sake don’t stay home because the Republican wasn’t a pure conservative. Any Republican, as Rino stupid as they may be, is a better choice than any Leninist/Stalinist that the Dems will put on their ticket.

Eisenhower was the last "moderate Republican" elected President. Mike Pence has never been a moderate Republican. He's a Goldwater/Reagan Republican. Trump is not ideological. He's a pragmatist which makes it hard to label him.

Berks County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that it is dropping charges against Damon Atkins after the preacher was arrested citing the Bible in protest of an LGBTQ Pride event in Reading, Pennsylvania. The only reason that the charges were dropped is that a third party videotaped the scene and disproved the account of the arresting officer. Ironically, Atkins was reciting 1 Corinthians 14:33 that begins “For God is not the author of confusion.” That role appears to rest with the Reading police, which processed a wildly exaggerated account of the encounter.

Marvel Comics has been slowly moving to materially alter its “Punisher” character after years of disgust at pro-police groups and conservatives using the character’s white skull logo, but now, in the company’s latest Punisher series, it looks like they have set up the complete end of Frank Castle. (snip) writer Gerry Conway has been extremely upset over use of the logo by Deplorables. Conway claims that his character was meant as criticism of the police and, being a left-winger, he despises the fact that his character was adopted by people on the right.

Long before the left invented “pride month,” the Catholic Church dedicated June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a tradition originating from the 17th-century visions of Christ received by French nun St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Enter Ross McKnight, a Louisiana Catholic father of five and owner of Backwater Foie Gras, whose business is now under attack after he made an Instagram post on Sunday commemorating the Sacred Heart of Jesus that provided his followers with ways they can protect themselves from “false pride” and counter the “attempted coup of the month of June.”

The Toronto Blue Jays have cut pitcher Anthony Bass just over a week after he apologized for sharing a video on social media that encouraged Christians to boycott Bud Light and Target. The decision was based mostly on performance, but “distraction” did play a role, according to Blue Jays manager Ross Atkins. Bass had previously apologized for sharing a video on Instagram that made a Biblical case against spending money to support businesses that are pushing people, particularly children, to “darkness.”

A recently amended California bill would classify not affirming a child’s gender identity by one or both parents as “child abuse.” AB 957 was introduced into the California legislature by Assemblymember Lori Wilson (D-Suisun City) and state Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco). The bill rewrites much of the state’s family law and classifies “a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child.” The bill amends Section 3011 of the Family Code, which deals with child custody disputes, and requires that a court determining the “best interests” of the child must consider affirmation of transgender identity.
