Conservative activist Kenny Xu, who’s fighting what he says are harmful diversity, equity and inclusion practices at US medical schools, says he’s notched another anti-DEI win at the University of North Carolina — with the help of a renowned, African-born, US-based heart surgeon. Xu persuaded Harvard-trained Dr. Nche Zama, (Snip) “Health care is the most important thing on this planet and to lower the standards to satisfy a policy is unfair to the patient and to the doctor who may not have the level of confidence and ability he or she should have because of these policies. DEI has drowned out what real diversity should look like.”

Wonderful. A family member was one of the earliest USN aviators, decades ago, long retired now. She flew on the carriers, instructed, and was voted by her peers in her "community" (aircraft type) as the best pilot on the east coast two years running. And yet, because of affirmative action hiring, when she flew for the airlines for decades after retiring from the Navy, a situation where the two pilots in the cockpit often do not know each other, she had to prove herself every single day. Because affirmative action lets less competent people into jobs, which means that there can be no assumption of guaranteed competence just because you are there. White males can only get there one way - by being competent, but females and minorities are held to lower standards and EVERYONE knows it. So - the best grade, most skilled females and minorities are assumed to be less competent, and that they are only there because of quotas - until they prove otherwise. This steals their prestige, one of the most important things in jobs which have difficult "admission standards" from those women and minorieis who actually DO meet the standards. Top skills females and minorities are forever smeared by everyone thinking when they meet them "Uh, oh, gotta keep an eye on this one, to make up for probable lack of skills." Always suspect, until proven. Affirmative action, DEI under a different alias, is a real evil in ways that these hateful leftists cannot even grasp.

How about a requirement for doctors to post their performance records inside their offices? Medical school grades and courses taken, number of patients cured, lived, died, etc. Pilots could post number of successful landings, number of crashes walked away from and number of close calls due to pilot error. Obviously a fatal crash would be career ending. If Barack Obama and Joe Biden had to do something similar we would not be in the situation we are in today.

Let me tell you a little story about the Chicago police...from years back...a family friend wanted to be a cop...but she wasn't tall enough or able to shoot straight...she couldn't run the required distance in training...BUT...was graduated as an officer endangering her fellow officer in the squad each time a call came in....so it's been happening for years....especially in Chicago.....

I've seen it, #4. Chicago has more affirmative action hires and Barney Fifes on its police force than anybody. If you are a "D" or a preferential demographic, you're in. Some people claim that cops don't have to be physically strong because they carry guns but it's fairly easy to take a gun away from an incompetent.

Mitchell and his associates wanted to ensure that they could keep winning city-favored contracts and subcontracts for minorities, (Snip) Instead of righting historical wrongs, the policy has enriched a small subset of already-wealthy businesses, bred corruption and fraud, deepened racial divisions, and cost taxpayers countless billions of dollars
