It Ain't Me, Babe, Blinken Edition

Secretary of State Antony Blinken sat down for an interview with Fox News Channel’s Benjamin Hall yesterday. Good for both of them — it might have been Hall’s first day back on the job from the devastating injuries he suffered covering the war in Ukraine and he had the temerity to ask Blinken an uncomfortable question or two. Blinken was nervously blinkin’ in response to Hall’s question about his putative role in soliciting the letter of the Deep State 51 from Michael Morell. Relying on the letter released by Congressmen Jim Jordan and Michael Turner, I wrote about Morell’s apparent testimony to the contrary in “The dirtiest trick.”

Comments:

A diplomat tasked with playing political hardball in the national interest against our enemies really shouldn't be named Blinken. It's just too doggoned obvious. For instance, Noel Coward was a good actor, but he didn't have the right name for a combat general, and wouldn't have been promoted as such. Blinken is not exactly "Linken."

This would be funny if what they’re bouncing back and forth weren’t so important. Both are seriously malign actors. Blinken is doing the equivalent of saying “I never told him to dump him in the East River in cement shoes…” when he told Morell “we have a problem”…. Andrew McCarthy nailed what Blinken was trying to pull...

In late April 2022, the White House named Nina Jankowicz—who believed in the Steele dossier and considered the Hunter Biden laptop story Russian disinformation—its disinformation czar. But the Department of Homeland Security Disinformation Governance Board that Jankowicz headed lasted only four months; Jankowicz herself resigned after just three weeks. A year later, it’s hard to ignore the irony that a White House that created an office allegedly to combat disinformation keeps trafficking in it to damage its political opponents. President Biden and his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, are spreading disinformation about Florida schools to discredit Governor Ron DeSantis. At a White House briefing on April 20,

America is at a tipping point. Will we continue the downward spiral into a fascist third-world dictatorship? Can we change course back to a constitutional republic that values the free will of men and women, freedom of speech and assembly, the rule of law, and equal justice? Already in the descent to an authoritarian state, free speech is suppressed and thought is censored and replaced by Orwellian New Speak enforced by the thought police. The free press is transformed into shameless state-run propaganda outlets that run the approved false narrative of the day (here)(here)(here)(here). The state takes guns away under the guise of public safety.

If you had any doubt that Bernie Sanders (I-USSR) was an actual Communist, doubt no longer. The guy who stands ready in case Old Joe retires and the Democrats opt to pick another octogenarian Leftist sat down Friday for a chat with Chris Wallace on HBO Max, and declared that if someone earns more than $999 million in a given year, the U.S. government should seize all of it. That’s right: all of it. Not 90 percent. Every last penny. And he showed no indication of having any idea why this policy, if it were ever enacted, would kill the economy and leave non-billionaires worse off than they were before.

Once the sun sets on the Himalayas and temperatures drop, a cacophony of eerie noises erupts deep within the glaciers around Mount Everest. Researchers led by the glaciologist Evgeny Podolskiy have found that the chorus of crashing and splintering noises in the high-altitude glaciers is a result of sharp drops in temperature after dark that causes ice to crack. The team pinpointed the cause of the sounds in 2018 after spending more than a week trekking through the Nepalese Himalayas to test the seismic activity of the Trakarding-Trambau Glacier system there. Dr Podolskiy and his team spent three weeks shivering on the glacier in full view of Mt Everest,

he Bible warns about calling evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). Based on that warning, the Democrats should be very worried. The Dems are a party that openly lies and calls evil good. They celebrate killing babies in the womb, revel in the authoritarian power they seized during the COVID lockdowns, and recently they’ve started to groom young children (as young as six and eight years old) to mutilate their bodies by confusing them about their gender. The Dems claim that if someone identifies as the opposite gender, we should celebrate and acknowledge their gender confusion.

WASHINGTON — Congressional hearings are frequently acrimonious, but they rarely descend into the kind of personal attack that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., waged against teachers’ union leader Randi Weingarten at a House hearing last week on pandemic-related school closures, an issue that continues to excite strong passions. Those passions were expressed in a “very homophobic” way by the outspoken congresswoman, Weingarten told Yahoo News last Friday. The hearing had taken place two days before, but she was still plainly rattled by the exchange. During the hearing, Greene repeatedly noted that Weingarten is not a “biological mother,” a seeming reference to the fact that the 65-year-old American Federation

The Left has launched a comprehensive war on modern agriculture. One aspect of that war consists of attacks on animal husbandry, which to some degree ties in with longstanding crank theories espoused by vegans and others. However, contemporary attacks on meat are mostly climate-based. As such, they are dangerous to your family’s health. The Telegraph reports: "Meat is crucial for human health, scientists have warned, as they called for an end to the 'zealotry' pushing vegetarian and vegan diets. Dozens of experts were asked to look into the science behind claims that meat eating causes disease and is harmful for the planet in a special issue of Animal Frontiers.

It is great fun to joke about how the Clintons must be the force behind the suspicious death of Jeffrey Epstein in his New York City jail cell in 2019, but after the bombshell story published this morning in the Wall Street Journal about heretofore unknown close connections Epstein had we’re moved to ask: who didn’t have a motive for wanting him gone? The story is behind the Journal‘s paywall, and if you don’t have a subscription it will be worth buying at the newsstand tomorrow, when it will surely appear in print. Here are a few highlights and surprises from the story: • Epstein had several meetings

There’s a lot to cover from Saturday evening’s annual nerd prom, otherwise known as the White House Correspondents Dinner. Rest assured, we’ll cover it all in various articles, but the night is best-enjoyed bite by bite. With that said, at some point, Joe Biden took the stage to give the crowd what they all came for. Specifically, a bad president reading bad jokes with all the skill and precision of a budget barber. In other words, Biden is the bowl cut of comedians. Case in point? This battle in Biden’s ongoing war with his teleprompter where he suggests that Mickey Mouse beat the hell out of him for some reason.

A mass shooting in Texas has left five people dead, including one child, and three more kids wounded. The whispering imps in the lefty, Pravda news industry didn’t want to mention that the shooter is a Mexican national, though at least one was quick to point out the type of gun he used. “5 dead in Texas ‘execution-style’ shooting, suspect armed with AR-15 is on the loose,” ABC reported. Fast facts about the mass shooting in Texas: Francisco Oropeza, 39, was firing his rifle around midnight. His neighbors asked him to stop. Oropeza approached his neighbor’s home, entered, and began firing. All of the dead victims were shot “execution style” in the head.

RFK Jr. announced he is running for president. As of April 19, 2023, he had snagged 14% of Biden’s voters just by declaring his candidacy. Then he began to talk. Now, ten days later, RealClearPolitics currently has RFK Jr. at 20%. Not too shabby. FACT-O-RAMA! Black drivers in Florida are nearly three times more likely to be ticketed by police and sheriff’s deputies under a law that allowed law enforcement to cite drivers for loud music starting last year, according to a new analysis of traffic data and court records. The analysis showed that Black drivers received almost 37% of the tickets, despite Black people making up only about 16% of Florida's driving-eligible population. Law enforcement cited Black drivers at a rate of just over 11 tickets per 100,000 Black drivers, and cited white drivers at a rate of 3.9 tickets per 100,000 white drivers.

New York is the first state in the country to ban natural gas and other fossil fuels in most new buildings – a major win for climate advocates, but a move that could spark pushback from fossil fuel interests. Facing mounting pressure from environmental advocates and climate-minded voters, Gov. Kathy Hochul and Democratic lawmakers, who control the New York Senate and Assembly, approved the new $229 billion state budget containing the provision late Tuesday night. The law bans gas-powered stoves, furnaces and propane heating and effectively encourages the use of climate-friendly appliances such as heat pumps and induction stoves in most

The Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has told a Catholic hospital in Oklahoma to put out a sanctuary candle light, a command they say violates their religious beliefs. The federal government told Saint Francis Health System’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel Michael J. The government says that the hospital will no longer be able to accept Medicare and Medicaid funds as long as the flame remains in the chapel.

The easiest way to cut through the pretending nonsense is to ask the obvious question, ‘Why now?‘ The Florida Republican Legislature is changing the Sunshine Laws in Florida to block people from reviewing the travel records of the Florida Governor. [HB1495 Link] The claimed justification is security, to protect the governor and high-ranking state officials. However, the obvious timing of Ron DeSantis pending run for the White House, in combination with his administration refusing to give details on who/how the funding for his private charter flights have been taking place during the “book tour,” makes the new law much more suspicious as constructed.
