At least 15 people were shot, two of them fatally, Friday into Sunday morning in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago. ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reported the first of the two fatal shootings was discovered Saturday morning around 12:30 a.m., when officers found a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound on the ground “in the 4900-block of West Hubbard Street.” The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Just after noon on Saturday a 32-year-old man was standing “in the 5200-block of West Adams Street” when at least one person inside a sedan opened fire, striking him numerous times.

According to a Chicago website that tracks local violence in great detail, just under 98% of murder victims so far this year are black (78%) or Hispanic (19%). This is never evident in any other reports I’ve seen.

BTW, March 16 2023..... "CHICAGO (WLS) -- David Brown officially steps down Thursday as Chicago's police superintendent." "Brown announced he will be the chief operating officer of a personal injury law firm in Texas." August 13, 2021 "Lightfoot botching her name comes just days after Brown referred to French as "Ella Fitzgerald" twice on Monday." C'mon man, it's just kids having fun. Lightfoot set the stage for all of this but Brandon Johnson owns it now. With two like this in a row, one must assume that the people of Chicago want it this way. With the constant shootings you get sub-zero temperatures, guaranteed democrat rule with the usual corruption and high taxes and a dirty, ugly environment. Who wouldn't want that?

I had a board meeting in Chicago. Was in the town for about 10 hours. As a result, I had to file an Illinois tax return, and apparently will have to for a decade because I’ll get deferred comp for several years. Never, ever, go to Chicago for any reason, ever.

Sorry AWR, she might have put the violence on steroids, this is Brandon Johnson's turn at the helm now. If you want to get technical about it, this all started with Tiny Dancer Rahm Emmanuel who got the job when Obama had Daley removed. As long as they kept it all in the alleys, Rahm didn't care.

Last Friday, the Wall Street Journal published quite the piece detailing conversations some of their reporters had with Justice Samuel Alito. The piece, drawing heavily on comments from the justice himself, shared a lot of what many already suspected when it comes to what the justices went through, though it still made quite the difference to hear it from Alito himself. He was the justice who wrote the opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson case, which was used to overturn Roe v. Wade. Although the decision wasn't formally handed down until June 24, someone leaked it on May 2,

The judge presiding over Hunter Biden's child support trial on Monday ripped into the First Son for 'sealing and redacting' his financial information. 'The ability to redact is somewhat being abused,' Judge Holly Meyer fumed. ‘I’m seeing a lot of things filed, especially by Mr. Biden’s counsel, sealing things, redacting things, that are not confidential.' She suggested that lawyers for the First Son's baby mama should subpoena a downtown Manhattan art gallery to find out exactly how much he has made from selling his art.

Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden, is back in the news again as he appeared in an Arkansas court seeking to reduce his monthly child support payments for his four-year-old daughter with ex-stripper Lunden Roberts. However, his expensive lawyers argued that he is “too poor” to continue to pay the current amount of $20,000 per month. During the hearing, the judge criticized Biden’s legal team for concealing financial details and ordered them to refile papers. This ongoing legal saga has raised concerns about Hunter’s financial situation and the transparency of his affairs, particularly his art sales.
