A pre-recorded announcement? When someone announces they’re running for president, it’s a massive public event featuring the biggest and most enthusiastic crowd the candidate can muster. When it’s a sitting president, the pageantry and the crowds are practically built in. But not for Doddering Joe, whose people had to trickle out a video because they can’t trust their man to draw a crowd, not to screw it all up, or wander the wrong direction off

Democrats have mostly given up on denying that Joe Biden is suffering from an advanced stage of dementia. Their strategy, as exemplified by their mouthpiece the New York Times, has shifted to a defense of senility. Do we need a mentally competent president? Nah.

It is hard to believe Joe Biden can possibly go through with this. He is no longer capable of doing a live press conference, and couldn’t even manage a live re-election announcement. National Review reminds us that in 2019 Biden apparently told confidantes that he’d be a one-term president, that it was “inconceivable” that he’d run again in 2024.
So what’s behind this? And why so early? Reagan didn’t announce his re-election candidacy until early in 1984, though Bill Clinton announced his 1996 candidacy in April 1995. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's biannual youth report found that just 75.5 percent of 14 to 18-year-olds said they were heterosexual in 2021 - a new low.

Nikki Haley doesn’t have a prayer to become the next President of the United States, although she is a viable VP candidate for sure.
I’ve always had a generally positive impression of her. She is smart, was a good governor, and one of the most reliable and well-spoken of the Trump appointees.
