Democrats have selected Chicago over other finalists like New York City and Atlanta as the site of their 2024 convention. The Democratic Party joins Republicans in selecting a Midwestern city to host the convention that will produce a final presidential nominee. Milwaukee will host the Republican National Convention in 2024. Three sources familiar with the Democratic National Committee’s plans shared the news with NBC, adding that President Joe Biden informed Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker before leaving for Ireland. All three cities made aggressive pitches that they represent the future of the Democratic Party, but Chicago and Atlanta were viewed as the front-runners. Both argued that the regions they are located in

Sounds like Milwaukee got the better part of the deal. Of course, the RATS screwed Milwaukee in 2020 with their non-convention in Milwaukee. Even Biden didn't show up.

Only San Francisco could be more appropriate to showcase the utter failure of Democrat party policies. Caviar, Champaign, and coke snorts for the bigshot Dems in the Chicago ballrooms; Fritos, cheap wine, and fentanyl for the thousands of Democrat voters living on garbage heaps and dodging bullets in the streets surrounding the convention center.

A Low-Level Leak 1 reply

The worst security breach in many years occurred earlier this year, as top secret documents apparently taken from a high-level intelligence briefing were posted on a sort of group chat and went viral from there. Scott wrote about it here. There have been international repercussions, as several foreign governments, including Israel’s, have denied the accuracy of some of the claims made in the briefing. So who was the leaker who had access to this top secret briefing? Apparently it was a 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman named Jack Teixeira. So many people–including me–are asking, how in the world did this kid have access to a top-secret intelligence briefing?

The Republican-controlled Florida legislature passed a bill on Thursday that would ban abortions beyond six weeks of pregnancy. “We have the opportunity to lead the national debate about the importance of protecting life and giving every child the opportunity to be born and find his or her purpose,” Jenna Persons-Mulicka, a Republican state representative that helped pass the House version of the bill, told the Associated Press. The bill overhauls Florida’s existing abortion ban beyond 15 weeks of pregnancy; it provides exceptions in cases involving rape, incest, or threat to a mother’s life.

SAN FRANCISCO — Tech mogul Bob Lee was murdered in San Francisco by someone he knew, police and prosecutors said at a news conference Thursday. Lee, 43, was stabbed to death on April 4 by 38-year-old Nima Momeni, Police Chief Bill Scott told reporters. Momeni was arrested at his home in Emeryville early Thursday morning and booked into jail on one count of murder. Momeni is the owner of Expand IT, a Bay Area technology and security company, according to a LinkedIn profile. “We can confirm that Mr. Lee and Mr. Momeni knew each other,” Chief Scott said. “Most people who commit homicides know the people who they kill.

The Washington Commanders have an agreement in principle in place for Josh Harris and his group to purchase the franchise for $6 billion, a source confirmed to CBS Sports. The deal will set an NFL record for the most expensive sale in league history. The previous record of $4.65 billion was set last year by the Walton-Penner group when it purchased the Denver Broncos. Any sale of the team would have to be approved by three-quarters of NFL ownership. Owners plan to convene in May for a regularly scheduled spring meeting, where a vote on final approval could take place. Harris' previous bid for the Denver Broncos means the league is familiar

The vehicle pollution standards, proposed Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and announced by the White House, will impact car model years 2027 through 2032. The White House said the regulations would "protect public health" by achieving carbon emission reductions of nearly 10 billion tons by 2055 and would save consumers an average of $12,000 over the lifetime of vehicles. "Cars and truck manufacturers have made clear that the future of transportation is electric," the White House stated in a fact sheet.

History may someday record today as the beginning of the end of the internal combustion engine – and of individual liberty in the U.S. According to news reports, the EPA is scheduled to release proposed auto emissions standards today on new car sales so stringent that the only way for automakers to meet them would be to shift two-thirds of their fleet to electric. But wait. How can a regulatory agency do that? Consumers aren’t demanding electric cars. Lawmakers didn’t vote to force them on the public. The Environmental Protection Agency knows better, though, and, unless it’s neutered, plans to force EVs on you – for your own good.

Most Americans won’t be able to afford them, but they’ll have no other options. Even the cheapest electric cars, which are still far more expensive than their real car counterparts and are just one battery problem away from turning into mostly unusable junk, are out of the price range of the majority of Americans who need an income of $80,000 to make an EV auto loan work.
