Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina launched an exploratory committee for a 2024 presidential campaign on Wednesday, taking a major step toward a Republican primary arena that former President Donald Trump has dominated so far.
"This is personal to me," Scott, 57, said in a video announcing the committee. "I will never back down in defense of the conservative values that makes America exceptional. And that's why I'm announcing my exploratory committee for president of the United States." Scott's move toward a White House run puts him on track to collide with fellow South Carolina Republican Nikki Haley, the former governor and United Nations ambassador who launched

I like him and respect him. Think he may a great career ahead of him. But in no way is he qualified to run for president at this time.

I guess he just wants to collect a little donation money. That's about all that will happen.

Why, we already have a proven America 1st MAGA man?
The only President in my adult life who tole you what he was going to do. Told you why he wanted to do it. And then did it despite an entire government refusing to MAGA.
I'm sticking with Trump/MAGA.
Tim Scott should stick to the Senate and help MAGA.

No, Tim. Did Lindsey tell you to do this foolishness? He also thought he was presidential material, but his pathetic self had to drop out. Why? The same reason you'll have to drop, stupid. What's up with you and Nikki? Or, is it that you need more easy cash? Where's Jim DeMint?

It's all about the money. Candidates get to keep all those bribes disguised as "campaign donations" even if they know they haven't a chance of being elected. They can hire all their family members as "campaign consultants" and pay them hundreds of thousands of dollars. They all do this like for example that evil old crone Maxine Waters who lives in a mansion outside her district and has her daughter on the payroll and that evil hypocrite wealthy communist Bernie "Three Houses" Sanders who has his wife on the payroll The republicans are also just as guilty of thrusting their snouts into campaign donations trough.
This scam is just one of the ways all these scum in Congress come in with substantial personal debt and retire as multi-millionaires. Wonder how many of these career politicians would run if they had to return all the campaign donations after an election?
Tim Scott is no different and he knows he has not chance in hell of winning but will make millions in campaign bribes by running for president. Don't expect any reform regarding this corruption.

#11, I live in SC. I’m not crazy about any of them but I’ll take Haley, Graham, Scott and Trey any day over Hochul, Schumer, Adams and AOC.
That being said, I will still vote for Trump in the primary and in the general.

I like the guy well enough. However, he certainly does not have the experience and following to be running for a national position. Ho about a run for governor and get some executive experience. He is young and has plenty of time to move up. Just not now.

I am involved with local Republican Party here in Charleston County, SC and unfortunately it is heavily populated with RINOS to the point SC is considered by most conservatives as the “Bluest Red state in the USA”. Graham’s strong incumbency ( and war chest) makes him undefeatable and Scott has lot of RINO tendencies. Not withstanding his captive story, he consistently supports McConnell and don’t forget, he endorsed Murkowski!

Good news for the Trump campaign if Scott indeed runs. The more candidates running in 2024 the more likely Trump will be the nominee. In the 2016 primaries Trump rarely received the majority of the votes. He did usually receive the plurality. We don’t know how Trump would do in a two man primary. The more the merrier means Trump will win.

How many times will the GOP fall for the "black conservative" politician who ultimately sides with his race over his "conservative" principles? Don't fall for his schtick.

Thank you #12. You explained the reason Scott is running very well. Then even though he will not make it very long, still all the money he gets to throw into keeping himself Senator forever.
I too do not understand the collection of untrustworthy odd characters beautiful SC has for top leadership. It seems there is no fight to dislodge them for true MAGA conservatives either.
