On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law allowing "constitutional carry" in his state. Then, progressives and Democrats online had an absolute meltdown in response.
"Sickening," the official Democratic Party's Twitter account wrote of the news. "Hiding behind closed doors and with the NRA by his side, Ron DeSantis just signed a bill that could make it easier for criminals to carry guns. He's prioritizing winning the MAGA base over our kids' safety." [Tweet] The Biden administration evidently agrees, as White House Press Secretary similarly tweeted, "It is shameful that so soon after another tragic school shooting, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a permitless concealed carry

We dont need a permit to converse worldwide as guaranteed by the 1st. Why should we need a permit to carry when that right is guaranteed by the 2nd? In fact, NO OTHER amendment requires a permit.

I don't think Thugs, Robbers and Car Jackers worry too much about having to have a Permit to Carry! Thousands of Floridians have Permits and Thousands also Carry. That's why I always say Robbers who like to kick down doors to Rob someone, in Florida, are super stupid because so many Seniors (who the Robbers think are helpless and an Easy Target, have Guns in their home and know how to use them! We have a Super great Shooter's World in Our Area and it's always busy with Folks who go there to Practice handling their Gun!

If guns were made 100% illegal to own or to carry does any sane person think the thugs would suddenly stop using guns to commit their various crimes??
How much safer would you feel if all you had to protect yourself and family was a steak knife.
Guns are the equalizer for the old, and small people against much physically superior persons whom wish to cause harm.
What am I missing in the Left's argument about legal carry laws?

They are not after guns. They are after your God given right of self defense which transcends human law and political constructs.. If that can be brought under state control, everything else is fair game. To Libs the stakes are highest. They will go back on anything else but not this.

Perhaps these gun grabbers should be given a copy of John Lott’s book, “More Guns, Less Crime”.

In Newsweek?? This is disorienting.
The Constitution is simple and clear.
"......the RIGHT to keep and BEAR arms shall not be infringed. "
SHALL NOT.....zero equivocation there to protect both "keep" and "bear"....as in carry around with you.
And, from a practical perspective, over half of the states have had this for years without any issues.

I've been carrying legally for 12 years. Constitutional carry since 2016. Never seen nor heard of a problem. Never had to draw. When I've had interactions with the police I always inform them that I'm carrying and they have always been cool with it. Those communists are a one trick pony.

They are frightened.
They know that Americans will only be pushed so far, and that they have pushed enough to start getting pushed back.

These same people have no problems with mutilating children in the name of gender dysphoria.

Re #13, I got my first permit in Florida in the 90s, and it was good in about 20 states then.....but not my home state of KS. In 2006 fifteen years of work finally paid off and we got CCW legalized, after overriding the rotten Dem gov's veto. I got my permit on Jan.3, 2007, the first day you could do it. I've been carrying daily since then, so 15+ years, and even though we have had Constitutiona Carry for years, I keep my permit up to date so that when we travel we are covered. Illinois is the only state that we pass through that we aren't legal to carry in, but they fixed their CCW statute a number of years back so that out of state CCW permitees were OK to be armed inside their cars just driving through. So, instead of having to stop before we got to Illinois and unload the guns, put them in the trunk, boxed separately from the ammo, then reverse this all when we left Illinois a few hours later, we can just drive through, armed inside the car.
My KS permit is good in all states less Oregon, Crazyfornia, Illinois, Maryland and the nutball states of NY, Conn, RI, Mass. I'm good in Vermont NH and Maine, but never go there any more because I'd have to pass through the Crazy Zone and be disarmed to get there. I've been to Vermont, NH and Maine...nothing calling me back.
Constitutional carry is legal in 26 states now, not legal in 24. This needs to be made legal in ALL states.
