AOC says she may draft Clarence Thomas
impeachment article if no one else does

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., renewed her calls for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to be impeached after a report detailed the justice's close relationship with a billionaire Republican donor — going so far as to say she will introduce articles of impeachment herself. In comments made on the Lever Time podcast Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez said Thomas' position on the court is an "emergency" and a "crisis," and reiterated her full support for removing him. When asked if she would introduce the articles of impeachment herself, the New York lawmaker said she would step up if no one else does.

Comments:

Dear, AOC. Must history repeat itself? Do you Dems really want to attempt another “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas…”?

So in the future must we not only determine the legal competency of a supreme nominee but vet and apply an ideolgical purity test to all there freinds? An awful lot of powerful dems are freinds with very wealthy people who donate to dem causes are they an existential crisis for democracy as well? Has AOC given her approval to all of the freinds of the more liberal members of the bench? What about appelate court justices? At exactly what point does an american citizen stop being a politically active and engaged citizen and acceptable human being to become an enemy of the state. AOC is hardly the person I would entrust with that power.

AOC is an insane, radical Leftist who has zero critical thinking ability. Thomas has done nothing to warrant an impeachment, but as we have seen with President Trump, Democrats don't need facts to impeach someone in their make believe world.

Yet, there is on impropriety with the judge for Donald Trump's indictment giving to Joe Biden's campaign fund in 2020? That is a conflict of interest and he should be removed from the court case immediately. . . In actuality, I think it is a conflict of interest for any judge to give to a campaign. . .

If you think you can impeach Justice Thomas, I say give it your best shot and proceed with your lynching. Remember, Boston University is still trying to get their diploma back due to your ignorance.

The last few weeks, the world had been writing off the United States as either crazy or irrelevant as it watches America cannibalize itself. Friends tremble at our sudden decline. Enemies rejoice. Neutrals make the necessary adjustments to join the ascendant non-American side. The symptoms of our decline abroad appear everywhere. The more Joe Biden brags about the crippling oil sanctions on Russia, friends like India and allies like Japan ignore them. And why not, when Biden has no idea how long the war in Ukraine will last, or how much wherewithal the United States can, should, or will give Kyiv, or how its on-to-Red-Square blank check will finally end?

Two former U.S. ambassadors are sounding the alarm on the increasing number of green energy projects nationwide being developed with the involvement of Chinese companies. Former U.S. Ambassadors Peter Hoekstra and Joseph Cella said Chinese companies, which are subject to strict Chinese laws, have made a concerted effort to take advantage of U.S. green energy goals. The companies, they said, are exploiting American tax incentives to build facilities and projects in the U.S., bolstering Chinese industry and ensuring continued U.S. reliance on technology from China.

On Good Friday, I chanced across a photograph of the lower Manhattan skyline at night from Good Friday in April 1956. Three skyscrapers, dominating the space, feature certain windows illuminated to form gigantic crosses to commemorate that most solemn of Christian holidays. The year 1956 was not that long ago. But how much has changed in those 60-odd years! Can you imagine such a public display of Christian affirmation in New York today? Nor can I. That was then. Now things are different. I thought about that disjunction between then and now when reading through Washington’s Farewell Address this weekend.

If you are a consumer of Democratic Party propaganda, you learned over the last two years that Donald Trump is not only a unique threat to democracy, he also single-handedly caused inflation, created the crisis at our southern border and ran up the scandalous national debt. Just last week, you learned of two more ways the former president is destroying America. First, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg declared that voters in the 2016 presidential race were deprived of key facts that could have made Hillary Clinton the winner.

Nobel Laureate Albert Camus once said, “Insurrection is certainly not the sum total of human experience but … it is our historic reality.” Those words came to mind this week when Tennessee’s House of Representatives expelled two members accused of disrupting legislative proceedings in what some called an “insurrection” or a “mutiny.” The scene on the floor of the Tennessee House perfectly captured our “age of rage.” Protesters filled the capitol building to protest the failure to pass gun-control legislation. However, they were in the minority in both the state and its legislature.

Occasionally someone asks me, "Pastor, what is the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do in ministry?" I always give the same answer. The experience is seared in my consciousness as if it happened yesterday. It was Palm Sunday at about three o’clock in the afternoon more than 20 years ago. Our church’s annual Easter pageant was going to start in a few hours. I received a phone call telling me that a couple in the church, a husband and wife, had just been killed in a motorcycle accident. The numbers don’t lie: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump is a massive outlier, not the “bread and butter” move the crime-lover claimed it was. Turns out, his office almost never prosecutes cases on charges like the ones he’s mounted against the ex-prez — i.e., first-degree falsifying business records with the “intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.” State crime data crunched by the Times-Union show that Bragg’s office has gone after people for this as a top charge only eight times in the past few years. Statewide, there have been fewer than 300 such cases since 2019.
