A mayor has been likened to Superman after springing into action to stop climate activists who were spraying paint on an ancient city building. Florence mayor Dario Nardella intervened to stop activists defacing the facade of Palazzo Vecchio, the city’s town hall building, with bright orange paint. Footage captured shows Mr. Nardella grabbing the arms of a male activist pointing a red fire extinguisher at the building that had been sprayed with paint. (Snip) He later added that more than 1000 gallons of water were used to clean the “environmental blitz”.

Well, heck, let's give these environmental "activists" a PhD in theology!!!! Apparently, that is a thing now. They protest the destruction of the environment by using paint -- which often takes caustic and dangerous chemicals to remove -- basically causing serious ecological damage to the area they are protesting in. As we say in the south, that is a "special breed of stupid"!!!!! It is also a special breed of evil!!!

Why have so many forgotten the target year to meet the Paris Accord goals? 2100 was their target year, which is 77 years from now, so why this rush to think it must be achieved in the next 5-10 years? Presume there is a different motivation behind it all, and it does not include a lot of freedoms.

I laud the mayor for intervening with the vandalism, but I do not agree that the so-called alarm over ‘climate crisis’ is legitimate in any way shape or form. It is a completely imaginary and bogus theory.

As the Chicago Bears make plans to build a new stadium, taxpayers still are on the hook for the old one. A big bill is coming soon —and the primary method of paying for it may not be enough. Whether or not the team leaves for its newly acquired site in Arlington Heights, the public is obligated to pay for the 2003 renovation of Soldier Field that was meant to keep the team there. Due to refinancing and years of primarily paying interest instead of principal, the debt owed for Soldier Field has ballooned from the original $399 million to $631 million

As Wisconsinites get ready to cast their votes for Supreme Court justice on April 4, one leftist group is busy bungling the election across the state. Earlier this month, the Center for Voter Information flooded Wisconsin with pre-filled absentee ballot applications to gin up support for Democrats, most notably far-left Supreme Court candidate Janet Protasiewicz. There was only one problem: The center botched voters’ names, creating confusion and alarm in a state already troubled by election mistrust and security. Georgian authorities used tear gas and water cannons outside the parliament building in the capital Tuesday against protesters who oppose a proposed law some see as stifling freedom of the press and coming from Russia. The law, which has received initial approval, would require media outlets and nongovernmental organisations that receive more than 20 percent of their funding from foreign sources to register as “agents of foreign influence.” International organisations have voiced concern over the draft law, saying it runs against Georgia’s democratic development. Georgia’s President Salome Zourabichvili condemned his country's parliament for the introduction of the law claiming it was "dictated by Moscow".

As a result, it is no known if the spillage would pose an environmental problem. “I know the IEPA has been out there,” Whitebird said.

State Sen. Chapin Rose, R-Mahomet, recently received rare statewide publicity when he tweaked the noses of Gov. J.B. Pritzker and his big-city supporters. In a tongue-in-cheek protest, he introduced the “If This Is Such a Good Idea, Let’s Start With You” Act. “The City of Chicago must convert Millennium Park into a solar-energy park by building solar-energy facilities on all open space and mounting solar-energy facilities on structures,” the bill states. The legislation also would require municipal officials in the Windy City to “place multiple wind-energy facilities in each public park.” What’s this about? A political double-cross, and a political disconnect.
