Returning to Neocon Roots – DeSantis

After attempting to navigate through the politics in order to curry favor with the base Republican voters on a Ukraine position, when confronted by Piers Morgan who is a pro-NATO war voice, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis now says his former position on Ukraine has been “mischaracterized” and Vladimir Putin “is a war criminal.” The walk back highlights once again that Ron DeSantis is an empty vessel using poll testing to formulate his policy stances. (snip) If the professional Republicans are NOT targeting a Republican politician, you can be assured that Republican politician is a member of the GOPe club operation.

From day one I have thought and said this war in Ukraine makes absolutely no sense. The fact that Russia invaded; the fact that the installed Biden regime seem to take glee in the war and helps to continue it anyway can; the fact that we are spending enormous amounts of US taxpayer money on a bottomless pit while the Europeans, as usual refuse to pony up any money and few arms to defend a country in their back yard. BUT, Vladimir Putin IS a war criminal. He has wrecked a country (which the installed Biden regime, read US taxpayers, has committed to rebuilding). Thousands of people, mass amounts of children are dead. Buildings, homes, businesses and cities destroyed. For what? Yes, Vladimir Putin IS a warm criminal. We can all question the Ukraine war and believe Vladimir Putin is a war criminal. Those two things are NOT mutually exclusive. Whether or not Ron DeSantis is a Rhino, remains to be seen. But, this early in the campaign, why the hell are we, pulling apart a guy that could be a great president? I am a Trump loyalist. This man has done things for this country that not even Ronald Reagan did. I support him and will crawl over broken glass to see him get elected. But, we do not know what the future holds and it makes perfect sense for other possible candidates to set up committees and put their toe into the water of this presidential run. We do not want to be flat footed in a year, with no one to step into the presidential election, if for some reason, Trump is not the candidate. We need to stop this destroying our own, talented people. That said, MAGA all the way.

OOps. Now is not the time for a misstep when you are in the process of teasing the public about maybe running for POTUS against the best one we have ever had. I still like DeSantis and some of what he said is echoed by Americans who do not like the idea of an open checkbook for Ukraine, especially given the strong probability that Joe and Hunter are in bed with them and have been since Joe was Obama's beech.

Hear! Hear! #4. This war sickens me as does my perception of the US's role in fomenting it, the looting of the Ukraine by The Big Bidet and his smarmy video bragging about it, and the little jumped up Ukrainian born freak who impeached Trump. I consider Ukraine close to being an enemy, with that comedian freak president of theirs. I will not vote for desantis and I want him to stay where he is and turn his talents to supporting Trump. But I am not going on the attack over a piers morgan interview. I wonder if it's possible for anyone not a billionaire to stand up to The Huge Machine that has grown up around the money flows of this country. It could be we are trapped in the machine with no way out. If it self destructs in its mindless chase of the stream of bucks, there's nothing to be done. If Trump can't do it, it can't be done. Beating and reforming the machine is all that matters, not some little policy tweak. Carroll Quigley wrote at length about the machine that got us into WW2- too much power in the hands of too few people he concluded. It would hardly be surprising if desantis has to sell out to the machine.

I am going to repeat myself here but once again, I listened this morning on the Larry O'Connor morning show on www.wmal.com talk radio, talk with former Green Beret and Iraq/Afghanistan combat veteran and now Congressman from FL, Michael Waltz (R) say that the problem with the US and Ukraine NOT agreeing to a ceasefire is that it is a pause that will help Putin and that the problem is that Putin has not been clear as to what is the goal for his invasion into Eastern Ukraine. WTH? How about the USA being clear as to what is our goal, what is the desired outcome of the US pouring billions of tax dollars until the end. The end meaning what exactly? And Waltz even had the gall to state that we are fighting for freedom in Ukraine. Really Michael? Your beloved Zelensky has outlawed all opposition parties, is jailing Ukrainian Orthodox priests, etc and just to show your ignorance Zelensky doesn't support the LGBTQ+++ agenda - so precious to the Left in this country. There are several countries in this world whose freedom is being tested but we will not fight to defend them will we Rep Waltz? You can listen to this interview later today or tomorrow on the Amal website. And right on cue, DeSantis changes his tune because we have got to keep the money flowing to the defense contractors, the future retiring senior military officers who then go work for these same companies making earning seven figure incomes, etc.

Yet, Joe Biden can keep throwing money at Ukraine and that is alright? How about we stick to the real issues and that is a current, failing administration. I am not wasting my time on all of the miniscule matters between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis. I support either one of them because they are good leaders. You will never find a perfect candidate and for these people who are pitting Donald Trump against Ron DeSantis, it seems as if you are looking for a perfect candidate. Guess you have all the time in the world for something that cannot happen.

The man just disqualified himself from the Presidential race. You don't call someone a war criminal that you want to negotiate with in a peace deal. What does Putin have to lose now as he ponders the use of his nuclear warheads. What an idiot thing to say. DeSantis put himself right there with Kamala.

It's simple really, and simple is all Biden can do. The economy is shambles. Biden can't do economics; he's a thug at heart, from a family of thugs. Without a free-market, a nation cannot generate wealth. With a free market, everybody profits, but you profit less. A growing population needs wealth to maintain quality of life, if not, they get grumpy and will throw you out. Even unions. Fortunately, there's another way to expand the economy: subjugation, brigandage -- expansionist military action -- in other words: the old way. We're the new Rome, so we do what the Romans do: Grab control of territory, and then milk it. When it's done, we'll have natural resources and a servile population to make stuff with it. Cheap. Debt makes your friends rich, but in the end we can replenish the treasury. The immediate advantage: the debt from making weapons will make a lot of people happy, The people will have jobs that pay well. The rich folks will get richer from virtually brain-free investments they make "Its war! Weapons are the future!" Then the subjugated territory brings taxes, resources, cheap labor and markets--as we sell them their stuff back. You can't go wrong; its win/win! Well, as long as we win.

I cherish a hope that this feud between RDS and PDJT is actually a scathingly brilliant plan, to wit: it accomplishes keeping both constantly in the news, plus forcing people to choose between them. Then, early in 2023 when the nomination comes about it's Viola! the Trump-DeSantis Dream Team. Yeah, I know, childish fantasy. But these days hope and fantasy are most of what I have left.

None of these statements matter. We are at war with Russia, and are losing badly. That is not going to change. Spend it all, and the U.S. will still not win in Ukraine. Russia lives next door, and has fought this type of war many times. They will keep going until the U.S. is bankrupt, and can go no further.

It's just not that DeSantis changed his mind on Ukraine, but when a man makes a cheap shot at a political rival when he thinks that person is vulnerable and it'll increase his political ratings, then that shows the measure of the man! Governor Ron DeSantis, I'm sorry, is a little man. His advisers could have told him to say this, but nevertheless, it was thoughtless. Gov. DeSantis could have been a great man and have come to the defense of the man that helped him become governor or defended someone being politically persecuted, but oh no, he had to put down another, to raise himself up. "I don't know anything about giving hush money to a porn star." Do you Ron? You were in the military (JAG...legal side) and you didn't know anything about prostitutes or anything like that? Did you lead a sheltered life? Are you implying you are better morally than President Trump? Only God can make that determination. Sounds like something that the Pharisees would say.

Trump campaign adviser told NBC News that Trump will be at his Bedminster club that night instead. In an apparent jab at Fox, Trump has already recorded an interview with Tucker Carlson.” She continued, “Will primary voters even watch if Trump’s not there. The Maui wildfires earlier this month killed well over 100 people, with more than 1,000 still unaccounted for, and destroyed nearly 3,000 structures, according to state and local officials. “President and Dr. Biden spent several hours both over Lahaina on the ground here and meeting with both first responders and victims of this tragedy at the big shelter, the War Memorial shelter in central Maui,” Weir began.

It would be the second presidential election cycle in which Trump broke tradition and skipped a debate. However, while the Trump campaign may think it’s a shrewd political maneuver, it’s actually self-destructive insofar as it establishes a precedent for President Joe Biden to skip debating Trump (assuming he is the GOP nominee) in the general election.

A summer surge of COVID-19 has some wondering aloud if we should return to mask mandates. For now, the official line, despite the media effort to rekindle coronavirus hysteria, is that it’s unlikely. But we heard that before, in 2020, right before public health officials dropped their mask tyranny on us. If they do it again, we have an obligation to say no. Are we calling for civil disobedience? Are we suggesting that Americans resist orders that are not laws but are instead decrees issued by despots? Absolutely, and without reservation. Masks are dehumanizing.
