National Review plays defense for J6 Committee,

I know, I know; National Review is still the outfit that published the infamous “Against Trump” issue as a last ditch effort to foil the successful 2016 candidacy that led to four years of peace, prosperity, low inflation, and disproportionate gains for the lower end of the income scale under President Trump. But still, it comes as a bit of a shock (snip) There is no hint that NR is bothered by the suppression of video evidence denied to defendants in trials for the J6 incident. Why, there’s plenty enough already available.

First of all bad link. FTA: “ The article chastises Carlson for using the word “murder,” which “has a legal context” to describe the killing of Ashli Babbitt when she was climbing through a broken window, unarmed, and too small in stature to conceivably pose a physical threat to the scandal-plagued Capitol Police officer who shot her.” She was NOT climbing through a window!!! Lifson! Watch the video. She was standing beside two or more policemen with rifles at the ready, just observing, trying to calm people down if anything, when the murderer fired into the crowd and she caught the bullet. It may not be murder 1, but it’s at least reckless homicide. As for the NR puke himself, i had no patience to parse his article. He seems to say that a lot of the video had been available which it was; i had noticed the viking shaman was escorted by police and did nothing 2 years ago. And then he goes into typical NR mode. It’s sad that this publication is still in existence.

NR, McConnell, Mittens, Ms Lindsey, etc. all perpetuate Republicans as the stupid party. On Jan 6, I was away from the news all day building a bannister at my daughter’s house. I got home, opened my iPad and began to read about it. Almost immediately it was apparent to me that this was a set up, virtually ALL state media outlets were already singing the same tune. They all had The Narrative memorized and were regurgitating it over and over even though the events had just happened in the last few hours. This just doesn’t happen with real news, natural disasters, war coverage, plane crashes, etc. Real stories evolve as information becomes available. If I can see it, then even DC RINOs can see it. But they would rather keep the uniparty all together than admit the truth. As Tucker pointed out, THEY ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE, it’s not government of the people, it’s government vs. the people.

NR is a sad empty husk of what it used to be. I was a multi-decade subscriber who used the information in NR for my political science classes to stimulate discussion on various views of current interest. Alas, I let my subscription run out because it is now just another mouthpiece for the left's echo chamber. NR, Good riddance. PS. What's NR's subscription numbers today?

For some reason, ABC World News Tonight was on in the living room last night and they tore into Tucker's reporting, calling it highly edited, yada, yada, yada, and replaying their spoon-fed videos from Nasty Nancy and her Witch-Hunt-Committee-where-the-Witches-were-doing-the-Hunting. He's straight over the target.

#3 yes a lot of what Tucker revealed has been out there for awhile but on the internet and not on TV. Many older Americans do not use the interwebs so this is new to them. And, Tucker only showed vids from inside the Capitol but did not show cell phone video which is available. One thing morons on all sides are making bias accusations for not showing the violence (some which he did). I've seen nothing but the violence in the legacy media for 2 years.

One tries to read widely on the state of the Ukraine war, though it’s extremely difficult to cut through the fog of propaganda and obvious lies. But slowly, the picture of a determined, slow-moving, grinding, painful Russian victory emerges. Ukrainian casualties are almost certainly at unbearable, unsustainable levels. Closest guesses are in the range of 250,000 KIA, orders of magnitude greater than Russia’s, which draws from a vastly larger population. Ukraine is losing a generation of its male youth, all to prop up a declining US planetary hegemony.

Kamala Harris's verbal utterances are bizarre, repetitive, and often not completed. (snip) Aphasics may do this to hide the fact that they can literally not hold onto the meaning of their narrative, to carry it to completion. So, they make up an ending to the story and then perhaps flip into a semantically weird ending. Harris often simply repeats her first sentence. This is not planned for a rational purpose, and she often solves her semantic confusion by bursting out in stereotypical laughter, with gestures, to encourage her listeners to think she just did a funny.

In recent days, Tucker Carlson presented facts about occurrences on January 6th, 2021, in and around the Capitol building that debunked the spurious Democrat narrative of a “deadly insurrection” by Trump supporters. The “deadly insurrection” claim was and is being used to target civilians and subject them to draconian punishment when the severest penalty they actually deserved for their actions on January 6th was a small fine or community service. (snip) Exploiting voters’ fear by peddling the “insurrection” narrative and claiming Trump will be a dictator is the only way the Democrats can secure votes. If the insurrection is debunked, they have nothing.

Tucker added, “Merrick Garland has presided over the most aggressive attack on civil liberties, in particular, an attack on the practice of traditional Christianity, than any living American has seen.” (snip) After highlighting these gross injustices against American Christians, Tucker makes what I believe is his most important point: You have to wonder when you see a tape like that, where are so-called Christian leaders? Last week, Tucker Carlson had a brief segment about the leaked FBI memo recommending surveillance of traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists. America’s top medical schools, worried they have too few minority students, are doing something about it. They are lowering academic standards for admission and trying to hide the evidence. Columbia, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Mount Sinai, and the University of Pennsylvania have already done so. The list already tops forty, and more are sure to follow. Of course, the universities won’t admit what they are doing – and certainly not why. All they will say is that their new standards add “equity” and “lived experience.” Unfortunately, adding those factors inevitably lessens the weight given to others.
