Anyone can stand at a podium and accept adulation. Real leadership involves having the humility to remain standing upright while accepting blame when you’ve failed the people you’re responsible for instead of conveniently leaning on a readily available crutch.
But then, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot never was much of a leader.
Lightfoot lost her re-election bid this week, receiving just a putrid 16.4% of the vote, finishing behind former head of Chicago Public Schools Paul Vallas and Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson.
Lightfoot had her crutch before the results were in.

Hershey’s Canada’s woke “Her for She” campaign debuted an ad on Wednesday in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8 that features on its candy bar wrapper transgender woman Fae Johnstone, a queer, trans and feminist activist who is also a “2SLGBTQUIA+ Advocate.”
The move set Twitter on fire with users blasting Hershey’s over the ad campaign. Many thought it was obscene to use a transgender woman to represent a pro-female celebration.
The short clip shows Johnstone posing with the limited-edition candy bar. She provides a voiceover attempting to explain the lame and offensive inclusivity initiative.

Baltimore, MD- Shocking video of a crash that led to the collapse of an entire building in East Baltimore last month was released by the Maryland Attorney General’s office on Thursday.
Police said the suspect responsible for the crash raced off in a stolen Hyundai Sonata just as officers were approaching the vehicle on the night of Feb. 8.
The suspect, 33-year-old Shawn Lee Brunson, proceeded to lead the cops on a high speed chase.
The chase concluded when Brunson allegedly struck another vehicle at the intersection of North Avenue and North Wolfe Street. This caused both cars to crash into the building, leading to its horrific collapse.

In late March, Walmart is closing the last two locations it has in Portland, Oregon.
The company’s official line about the closings is that it has to do with store performances, customer needs, and other corporate speak.
Does anyone doubt that this probably has a lot to do with theft? Portland is a hotbed of leftism, and for the last few years, shoplifting has become a norm for the left.
FOX 12 in Oregon reports:
All Portland Walmart stores to permanently close in late March
The last two Walmart stores within Portland’s city limits will close in late March, the company announced.

In an industry where Christianity isn’t fashionable, Hollywood star Kelsey Grammer is refusing to apologize for his faith.
The actor spoke about his new movie Jesus Revolution, as well as his own ups and downs with Christianity, in a USA Today interview,
“I’ve had hiccups. I’ve had some tragic times. I have wrestled with those and worked my way through them: sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it, like, ‘Where were you?’ That kind of thing,” he said.
“But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus.

We’ve seen that Democrats don’t seem to understand some of the basic principles of the Constitution. Or perhaps, more accurately, don’t seem to care about complying with it.
We’ve also seen that they don’t understand that Joe Biden isn’t king. He doesn’t get to declare, by unilateral fiat, the cancellation of student debt. That’s not within his Constitutional power, no matter what Democratic politicians may think. But they wanted to do it to pay off their base for their votes. So, they threw a tantrum on the steps of the Supreme Court. All they understand is that they should get to do what they want to hold onto their control.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is on board with one Biden initiative: funding the administration’s war packages to Ukraine. The Kentucky Republican claims this is a top priority among Republicans. Polling suggests otherwise, and it’s not just members of the GOP—the nation at large is starting to get tired of the Ukraine excursion that’s rapidly becoming yet another endless war for the United States, albeit by proxy. The situation on the ground there is stalemated because Russia’s military is racked by incompetence, coupled with shoddy weapons and tactics, while the Ukrainians have some of the best weapons but lack the manpower to rout Russian forces entirely.

Phil Washington, President Joe Biden's nominee to serve as administrator of the FAA, continues to face questions about his qualifications to serve in the role, and his testimony before Congress isn't dispelling doubts about his ability to run America's civil aviation system and keep its citizens safe when they fly.
Already, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has raised concerns about Washington's experience and resume, suggesting President Biden is "playing politics" rather than prioritizing the safety and efficiency of America's air transportation system. Washington's previous gigs have also seen accusations of wasteful spending and mismanagement of resources, as Townhall reported previously. And, while he served honorably in the military,

A 17-year-old student who continued to viciously beat his high school teacher after he knocked her unconscious for taking his Nintendo Switch will be tried as an adult.
Brendan Depa, 17, will be tried as an adult for the brutal beating of Joan Naydich, 57, at Palm Coast, Florida’s Mantanzas High School.
The vicious and deeply disturbing assault was captured on security camera footage, which shows a student pushing a teacher to the ground and knocking her unconscious before going on to punch and stomp on her as she lies motionless and defenseless. The mother of two was struck at least 15 times in the back of the head. [Video]

Perhaps the royal family has had enough of being backstabbed by their own flesh and blood. According to a new report, Meghan Markle and her husband have been evicted from Frogmore Cottage, their family-paid estate. They also won’t be invited to the coming coronation.
The decision came from the very top, with king Charles booting the attention-seeking couple.
King Charles III is kicking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out of Frogmore Cottage — and gifting it to disgraced royal Prince Andrew.
A source confirms to Page Six that the incoming king began the eviction process in January just one day after the redheaded royal’s memoir “Spare” hit shelves.

After a recent hurricane, Puerto Ricans desperately needed fuel.
Fortunately, an oil tanker was right offshore.
Unfortunately, the United States government forbade it to come ashore!
Why?
Because of a stupid law with a stupid name: The Jones Act.
The Jones Act forbids shipping anything between American ports in ships that are not U.S. built and crewed. This makes goods cost more (the average Hawaii family must pay $1,800 more a year) and sometimes, as happened in Puerto Rico, makes a crisis worse.
Yet America's shipping lobby claims this law is a good thing.

Insane video is emblematic of leftist policies ruining US cities.
