Baltimore, MD- Shocking video of a crash that led to the collapse of an entire building in East Baltimore last month was released by the Maryland Attorney General’s office on Thursday. Police said the suspect responsible for the crash raced off in a stolen Hyundai Sonata just as officers were approaching the vehicle on the night of Feb. 8. The suspect, 33-year-old Shawn Lee Brunson, proceeded to lead the cops on a high speed chase. The chase concluded when Brunson allegedly struck another vehicle at the intersection of North Avenue and North Wolfe Street. This caused both cars to crash into the building, leading to its horrific collapse.

Comments:

Insane video is emblematic of leftist policies ruining US cities.

Just imagine if an earthquake, even of low magnitude, strikes that area. All the buildings will be flattened.

There was a pedestrian standing in front of the building, he dodged the first car..got flown ten feet by the second, then smashed by the building collapse. Right from the git-go, people are blaming the cops saying they shouldn't have been chasing. Dude shouldn't have been running, shouldn't have stolen the car. If he survived He should be charged with multiple counts of murder and attempted murder.

I wonder if those cops realized that the rest of the building could have come down on them at any moment. If they did, that was pretty brave of them to evacuate the cars.

An officer was told to end pursuit of the stolen vehicle shortly before the crash happened. Uh oh. Get ready for Freddie Brown II, Baltimore. And that line about "infrastructure neglect" - is the city expected to raze the thousands of brick buildings erected a century or more ago and replace them? I don't think that's what the pigs at the Congressional trough had in mind when they passed the bill - but it sounds like something they wish they thought of. But not before they relocate the racist I-95, which passes over top of East Baltimore on its way from New England to Florida.

This building like so many in Baltimore was an abandoned home that would have collapsed even if nothing hit it. It's not a usual story in Baltimore when an old home just collapses. The city tries to tear down many of these buildings because the homeless start fires in them to keep warm and because they present a hazard to the public if they fall on people or a passing car. However, the city can't just tear down a building unless the owner of that building can be found and forced to do so by the courts. It's all about red tape.

#4 A pedestrian did die. You see a car bumper careen to the right, but a few feet to the left a man (Mr. Fincher, according to story commenters) gets hit and then buried by bricks. RIP.

The building was about to fall down anyway, but that doesn't excuse the car thief. He should be charged with car theft ,speeding, alluding, and Homicide. he should spend what is left of a criminal life in prison. But he won't . The Police officer has more chance of being locked up than the thief. If any action is brought against this officer the rest of them should just walk off the job.

Anyone can stand at a podium and accept adulation. Real leadership involves having the humility to remain standing upright while accepting blame when you’ve failed the people you’re responsible for instead of conveniently leaning on a readily available crutch. But then, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot never was much of a leader. Lightfoot lost her re-election bid this week, receiving just a putrid 16.4% of the vote, finishing behind former head of Chicago Public Schools Paul Vallas and Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson. Lightfoot had her crutch before the results were in.

FOX 12 in Oregon reports: All Portland Walmart stores to permanently close in late March The last two Walmart stores within Portland’s city limits will close in late March, the company announced.

We’ve seen that Democrats don’t seem to understand some of the basic principles of the Constitution. Or perhaps, more accurately, don’t seem to care about complying with it. We’ve also seen that they don’t understand that Joe Biden isn’t king. He doesn’t get to declare, by unilateral fiat, the cancellation of student debt. That’s not within his Constitutional power, no matter what Democratic politicians may think. But they wanted to do it to pay off their base for their votes. So, they threw a tantrum on the steps of the Supreme Court. All they understand is that they should get to do what they want to hold onto their control.

Polling suggests otherwise, and it’s not just members of the GOP—the nation at large is starting to get tired of the Ukraine excursion that’s rapidly becoming yet another endless war for the United States, albeit by proxy. The situation on the ground there is stalemated because Russia’s military is racked by incompetence, coupled with shoddy weapons and tactics, while the Ukrainians have some of the best weapons but lack the manpower to rout Russian forces entirely.

After a recent hurricane, Puerto Ricans desperately needed fuel. Fortunately, an oil tanker was right offshore. Unfortunately, the United States government forbade it to come ashore! Why? Because of a stupid law with a stupid name: The Jones Act. The Jones Act forbids shipping anything between American ports in ships that are not U.S. built and crewed. This makes goods cost more (the average Hawaii family must pay $1,800 more a year) and sometimes, as happened in Puerto Rico, makes a crisis worse. Yet America's shipping lobby claims this law is a good thing.
