Lori Lightfoot lost for failing Chicago
— not because voters are racist/sexist

Anyone can stand at a podium and accept adulation. Real leadership involves having the humility to remain standing upright while accepting blame when you’ve failed the people you’re responsible for instead of conveniently leaning on a readily available crutch. But then, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot never was much of a leader. Lightfoot lost her re-election bid this week, receiving just a putrid 16.4% of the vote, finishing behind former head of Chicago Public Schools Paul Vallas and Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson. Lightfoot had her crutch before the results were in.

Comments:

She really is a vile person!!

When you cheat to win elections you better have someone at least partially competent running. Otherwise it will become obvious that you cheated. See Joe Biden. As for Chicago, the people are just stupid. Been that way for a long time.

When a failed performance from a minority is actually due to a lack of qualifications and racism is improperly being used as an excuse it just perpetuates racism. It brings to light that they obtained the job because they are a minority and that was the only qualification considered. The mayor should not have been elected. Everyone knew this. She was horrible at her job. Social engineering such as this does not stop racism or bigotry it perpetuates it. Mayor Pete B is another example and Demoted Don at CNN (who should have been fired long ago) is another example. The list is long. If racism does exist the social engineering supporters are fueling the fire! When a minority says they have been a victim of racism or bigotry that is their opinion and does not make it so. How do we know that people's reaction is racism or just responding to a perceived bad personality? It is far easier to blame racism/bigotry than to take a long hard objective look at oneself and ask the question Are people reacting to a race and or lifestyle or to a bad personality? It is a lot easier to blame racism or bigotry than to admit to oneself possible shortcomings.

Lightfoot was a woke hire who was never remotely qualified to run any city, let alone one the size of Chicago. From day one her main objective was to act out her activism like there was nothing to know about her but that she is Black and gay. It didn’t end well. She is now Black, gay, and unemployed.

This post is in no way meant to defend Lightweight McFly but I seem to remember when Twinkle Toes Emmanuel ran the city that the murder rate was nearly, if not as, high as it is under the insect and he could actually see what was right in front of him rather than only to the sides. As a resident ten years ago (Barrington) I can say that Cook County is one great big criminal enterprise disguised as a governmental district. Electioneering there is only for purposes of money laundering and actual governance, if any, is done at levels much lower than the executive by dedicated public servants and taxation there is really extortion.

We’ve seen that Democrats don’t seem to understand some of the basic principles of the Constitution. Or perhaps, more accurately, don’t seem to care about complying with it. We’ve also seen that they don’t understand that Joe Biden isn’t king. He doesn’t get to declare, by unilateral fiat, the cancellation of student debt. That’s not within his Constitutional power, no matter what Democratic politicians may think. But they wanted to do it to pay off their base for their votes. So, they threw a tantrum on the steps of the Supreme Court. All they understand is that they should get to do what they want to hold onto their control.

Polling suggests otherwise, and it’s not just members of the GOP—the nation at large is starting to get tired of the Ukraine excursion that’s rapidly becoming yet another endless war for the United States, albeit by proxy. The situation on the ground there is stalemated because Russia’s military is racked by incompetence, coupled with shoddy weapons and tactics, while the Ukrainians have some of the best weapons but lack the manpower to rout Russian forces entirely.

Joe Biden will almost certainly not attend the coronation of King Charles III. The official reason is that he is making a trip to Ireland that simply can’t be canceled. The media have focused on two reasons he won’t be there: (1) Eisenhower didn’t attend so there’s no tradition for presidents to attend, and (2) Biden hates the British. I think there are two more likely reasons: (1) Charles III’s coronation is an event without cachet, and (2) it’s impossible for Biden to withstand the rigors of the long coronation ceremony and any pre- and post-ceremony events. Indeed, my money is on the last reason being the real reason.
