The leader of east Oregon's plan to leave liberal Portland behind and join conservative Idaho is moving fast. Mike McCarter has a $70,000 budget for lobbyists in the two states, has seen allies introduce legislation in Oregon last month and has a bill ready to go in Idaho that would accelerate discussions for 15 counties to jump the border. If it works, he says other red counties will have a model for how to dump their urban, Democratic rulers.  'I think people within the United States are watching Oregon's movement, hoping that it'll establish a pathway for them in the future,' he told

Good. Would be good to see western Colorado do the same thing and secede from the Peoples Republic of Denver.

Something HAS to change. We keep hearing that we need to be respectful and law abiding in the process, but those tactics have gotten us exactly nowhere. The left counts on our decency to keep us in self-regulated check, while they plot whatever horror they have in store for us next. Those days will come to an end soon enough, but perhaps this is the 2023 version of the secession of the states.

These people in Eastern Oregon have a valid point. So do those in Eastern Washington, Northern California, Western Maryland, Illinois separating from Cook County, New York, and on and on. If Dems want D.C. and Puerto Rico to become states, them these states I mentioned should also be allowed to come into being. Oregon, Illinois, Washington, California, and New York provide the argument for why our Founders created the Electoral College. In those states, one city or county, decides the statewide election results. In Arizona, it’s Maricopa County. So, break up the states; fair is fair!

Perhaps it would be simpler just to force these "city-states" to be just that. Independent political entities, that have to live with their choices; without imposing burdens upon people who have no voice in the matter. As long as they have the numbers to out vote their tax slaves they have no motivation to change.

We should really have 60, or more, states. If everyone attaches to Idaho what happens when Boise becomes another “peoples republic”? The problem for the blue cities is that all the resources (water and power especially) come from the conservative areas.

The strategy for moving parts of Oregon into Idaho and getting lawmakers to agree may not be easy. Republicans are probably in favor, Democrats opposed. What to do? Hire public relation firms to emphasize how enlarging Idaho and smalling down Oregon would hurt America and lead to a diminished role in the world together with high energy prices and inflation. Then the Democrats would jump on board.

The Republic of Texas approaches. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. We have every shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and half the Atlantic and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can use Panama. We WILL protect our borders ,north, south, east, and west. The U.S. Navy has started to collect what remains of a Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon after an Air Force fighter jet shot it down over the weekend. The Department of Defense announced the recovery effort Monday, stating it was taking place about 6 miles off the coast of South Carolina in about 50 feet of water, after rough seas prevented the safe retrieval Sunday. On Saturday, the U.S. Air Force shot down the suspected spy balloon over the Atlantic Ocean after it had floated southeastward across the United States. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the mission to shoot down the balloon was conducted in coordination with the Canadian government.

The first photos of the F-22 Raptor which shot down the spy balloon have been published, as it emerged the U.S. used U2 spy planes, first deployed during the Cold War, to monitor the Chinese balloon - and reports suggested that similar balloons were spotted previously in two more highly-sensitive military sites, but the intelligence community classified them as UFOs. The U-2S Dragon Lady spy planes were enlisted as part of last week's scramble to assess the balloon because they are able to fly at extremely high altitude. The balloon was at 60,000ft, and U-2S routinely fly above 70,000ft: most fighter jets fly at an altitude between 45,000 and 51,000ft.

Original estimates put the death toll at about 620,000, including some 360,000 Union and 260,000 Confederate dead. More recent estimates of the carnage are even higher: 750,000 to 850,000. The Battle of Antietam on Sept. 17, 1862, at Sharpsburg, Maryland, still ranks as the bloodiest day in U.S. history, with nearly 23,000 casualties on both sides, including 3,675 killed in action.
