The deep-pocketed donor network associated with billionaire Charles Koch and his late brother David has said it will not be backing Donald Trump's next bid for office.
The declaration, made by brass at Americans for Prosperity Action in a memo to staffers Sunday, did not specify which candidate would receive the prospective funding, but vowed it would not be the embattled ex-head of state.
While not mentioning Trump by name, the CEO of the Kochs' main political arm offered a not-so-subtle jab at the former president, who during his tenure often sparred with Koch officials over his administration's trade and immigration policies.

Bad mistake if DeSantis buys into this. These billionaires have been trying to buy the government for eons. Americans don’t do machines. We are freedom-loving people who choose our own candidates. DeSantis will badly tarnish himself for the future. GOPe is not a good tattoo...

I don't believe too many Trump voters give a good damn what the Koch brothers do.

I hope Governor DeSantis refuses Koch's support. Koch is too controversial and so far our governor has been squeaky clean. He doesn't need that baggage for his campaigns.

This fossil and his minions and megabucks cannot be allowed to buy and own our presidency. Here are those who have fallen into the Koch Soros-like trap:
That said, when it comes to to 2024, several Republicans weighing bids could find themselves backed by Koch, with some in past already supported by Koch-backed super PACS, including DeSantis prior to his own GOP primary in 2018.
Other potential suitors include former Vice President Pence, as well as Marc Short, Pence’s former chief of staff and longtime aide, who once oversaw political operations at the Koch network.
Another prospective candidate us former Secretary of State Pompeo, who found himself backed by Koch-led political committees when he served as a congressman in Wichita - where Koch Industries is headquartered.
Former South Carolina Gov. Haley, meanwhile, also has ties to Koch's elaborate donor network, and has attended the family's donor conclaves in the past.
I’ll just bet she has. And Pence has to be wiping the drool off his and Karen’s chins.
No one owned/owns President Trump. Never did. Never will.

Not. No. Never! I fully expect Donald Trump to resume his criminally interrupted campaign to restore America to the Americans. In so doing, in the words of the old song, he must “… fill the jailhouse square with skin and bones and hide and hair!”

How will the intrepid DeSantis propagandizers on site work around this gem?
DeSantis is a good guy. Those who are busily trying to propel him forward don’t give a darn about his being dirtied up with a Koch connection.

So far DeSantis has been great. He has made tough, brave decision's in the best interest of his state. However, we do need to remember that he does come from the old guard GOP stables. He was a protege of Jeb. Hopefully he has seen the error of the old ways and will remain more a free thinking populist. If he accepts the backing of "Koch network" who are going to expect a return on their "investment" things may not really be what they seem.
Remember when "W" was one of us, and how we backed him up at every turn? When Trump was elected and good things started to happen and we were "awakened" to the depth of the swamp and the vastness of the "Deep State." When our "hero's" (G.W., Cheney) of just a few years ago, aligned with the Clinton's and Obama's and unleashed vengeance on the man we had chosen?
Be wary. We have to be more careful now, and not get fooled again.

Although I doubt it, I may have missed, from this story, that Koch is planning to send money to DeSantis. What was actually there is Koch’s intention not to donate to Trump’s campaign. The Koch approach to immigration is disastrous.
This article was about the Koch donations for 2024, not about DeSantis, Pence, Pompeo or any candidate other than Trump. DeSantis haters need to get a grip.

One of Trumps biggest assets is that everyone knows that he can't be bribed and doesn't need more power. He's been powerful in NYC business for many decades, is doing this for patriotism, I am convinced, and somewhat for his ego....he knows he's way smarter and more capable than 99.9% of the dimwitted pukes in politics, and wants to prove it AGAIN.
Best economy in half a century....and wrecked immediately by Dems.

I love Trump and wish to God he was our president now. I will obviously support him in 2024 if he is the nominee — but I do think we need younger leadership. That is NOT a criticism of DJT, just my preference.

DeSantis is not a candidate.
*IF* he ever becomes a candidate there will be something to talk about.
Until then, the DeSantis candidacy is a media created narrative of nonsense.
He has never even hinted coyly that he is running.
Repeat: DeSantis is *NOT* a candidate for President in 2024 at this time and has not expressed any interest in being such.
Until he does, these articles are a waste of time.

Understand the appeal of DeSantis and why people are weary of Trumps approach. But you can't argue with the results. And now we know. Johnny come lately isn't Trump 2.0, he's a fake.
So the field remains open for the Trump alternative, one palatable to Trump supporters.
But the support of never Trumpers means DeSantis is both a non starter and a fool. A Fool because he didn't see it coming. His supporters don't want Trump, they don't want the Trump agenda, and their second greatest fear is that DeSantis could ride the Trump wave.
He takes on Trump, Trump supporters will snub him for good. He supports Trump, he has a following for 2028.

Since Fried Sam, the Crypto Banker is in jail, donations will be a little thin in 2024. If Donald Trump is not the republican candidate, my share will be Zero.
