How to destroy a superpower in two years or less.
** Open Borders
** Wild inflation
** Excessive spending
** Arming the Taliban
** Turning your backs on Afghan allies
** Bow to Chinese
** Create a domestic energy crisis,
** Keep the same clowns in charge of military who just surrendered to 10th century barbarians
** Promote nuclear war with Russia
You just can’t make this up! After allowing a China spy balloon to float across Alaska and the continental United States for the last 10 days, the US military finally shot the balloon down after its work was accomplished.
Now the US military is concerned they may not reach

Amazing planning by the Biden administration! Milley called the Chinese several days ago and let them know the time and pickup point.

They could have easily deployed a ship in the general vicinity by Saturday. Dems probably wanted an enviro- impact statement before the ship could leave port.

Put the word out and about 300 ol boys in boats will be swarming that spot in about 2 hours, and no Chinese boat is going to be as well armed. Bring it on.

Our country has become a "paper tiger". A joke. Six miles from our shores and we can not get to it? This is all by design. No country can be this helpless or stupid. We are taking a "dive".

They didn't get the balloon??? Are the stocks and pillory still available? The ducking stool? Biden and his top military brass should be shamed out of office, but he (they) has (have) no shame. He belongs in prison with a significant part of his crooked family. The mess they're making is deliberate, and treasonous.

As intended.
Has there been any mention where did this balloon actually launch from? Did it launch from mainland China, or off the deck of a ship off our west coast? The Pacific Ocean is awful large.

If they'd just said there's $100 in gold coins in the wreckage, there would be 1,000 amateur divers on the site in an hour.

Sorry, had to expand to explain myself.

Is the slow arrival time because of the new laws restricting vessels to 10knts?
A more controlled descent would left a much smaller search area, small punctures in the canopy/envelope rather than total destruction and a 60,000 ft fall.

Would have been far more convenient and secure if the wreckage was somewhere in a deserted part of Montana.

It is sommat "Interesting" that the missile used to bring the balloon down is one first used in combat against Chinese MIGs, after they were secretly provided to Republic of China fighters during the Taiwan straits wars in 1958. They were a massive game changer in aerial combat...briefly...because one of the first ones used hit it's target, but didn't explode. The chinese pilot safely landed his jet, with the intact missile stuck in the side, The Chinese handed it over to the Russian, who quickly copied it, put it into production and soon both the Chinese and Russians had the same thing USA and allies did.
"During the Taiwan Strait battles of 1958, a ROCAF AIM-9B hit a PLAAF MiG-17 without exploding; the missile lodged in the airframe of the MiG and allowed the pilot to bring both plane and missile back to base. Soviet engineers later said that the captured Sidewinder served as a "university course" in missile design and substantially improved Soviet air-to-air capabilities. They were able to reverse-engineer a copy of the Sidewinder, which was manufactured as the Vympel K-13/R-3S missile, beginning wide deployment in 1960"

I'll bet that had they asked Elon Muck, he could have figured out how to capture the balloon, retrieve it onto the deck of one of his booster landing barges, and delivered it intact....by yesterday.

Good Grief indeed! What/Who are they trying to protect here? According to the article, "multiple coast guard and Naval Vessels are on the scene protecting the 7 mile radius. I mean ... come ON! 7 mile radius, 6 miles off the shore of Myrtle Beach?! And they dont think they can keep the Chinese out?!
This story keeps going from the sublime to the absurd. And I agree with previous posters... you can bet there are multiple shrimp boats nevermind every Bubba with a ocean worthy fishing boat that would be on that scene like gravy on a biscuit. And they might have a shotgun around.

First lie...47 ft deep?! Has anyone looked at the ocean depth charts? Six miles off the coast is many hundreds of ft deep! The idiots in the Biden administration just throw facts out thinking no one knows more than they or would ever check Also guess there are no salvage ships on the Gulf or east coast. We'll have to call one from Seattle by way of the Panama Canal.

The government is just making this stuff up as they go. That's contemptuous and arrogant. They think we're idiots. Why are they doing this? Because they know the MEDIA will take their outrageous, harebrained stories and spin them into fanciful James Bond yarns to which Biden can refer when he next dons his aviators and starts babbling about how the balloons are "no joke." We are being lied to on a daily basis by our own government. They are totally and completely out of control. And the scary part is they could care less.

A torn balloon? Any old fishing trawler could drag that junk back to shore. It's in 47 feet of water where a free diver could easily reach it. This revelation stinks even more than the balloon itself. They not only think we are stupid they think we are as feeble minded as Joe is.

They probably will get there first. They don't want to have to explain how American technology got into the balloon's payload.

I thought the landing spot is in U S territorial waters. And we are short on forces to keep the chicoms out of our front yard?
