In the realm of political talk shows, there’s nothing quite like “The View.” Let’s face it: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and pretend-conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin combine for an hour of “entertainment” like no other on television. From clueless unintentional comedy to outright rage, the ladies outright bring it, day after day, but in my not-so-humble opinion, the incisive brilliance of noted Mensa member Joy Behar is second to none, and her ultracrepidarian ability to pontificate on any subject imaginable at the drop of an ignorant hat is legendary. The purported rationale is the horrific beating to death in Memphis of Tyre Nichols captured on video and released by the police. As Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) observes, Nichols’ beating was administered by “Black officers in a majority Black city with a Black police chief.”
The officers involved have been criminally charged, but the media to which every Black killed by a cop is just proof that we are still in the Selma, Alabama world of decades ago -- another case of some innocent Black person victimized by racist oppressors.
