The Twitter account for the Associated Press apologized for a recent tweet suggesting that "the French" was a "dehumanizing" term, acknowledging that it "caused unintended offense." The AP official account tweeted Friday morning, "The use of ‘the French’ in this tweet by @AP was inappropriate and has caused unintended offense. An updated tweet is upcoming." The original tweet that put the AP in hot water with social media users came from the @APStylebook account on Thursday. It suggested doing away with "dehumanizing ‘the’ labels," including "the poor" and, inexplicably, "the French." Not to worry, they'll come up with something new and stupid just to keep their cred with their liberal, insane nitwits. They can't help themselves.

This is a case of somebody either not having enough to do, practicing job security, or trying to outdo another woke nut job who came up with their own woke word du jour. Banning “the” was going too far and even the powers that be at the AP couldn’t take the ridicule. Try speaking and writing without using “the”.

The Associated Press (or would it be more proper to say, "Associated Press people?") exhibits their inability to report unbiased news by making up ridiculous grammatical rules that have no relevance to any real cause or purpose, except to try to one-up their virtue signaling.

When I hear the words "the French" I immediately think of white flags and a haughty but thin-skinned people who once showed some courage back around 1789. To be fair, much like the other countries of Europe, the French people are fine but their governments suck.

Refering to the French - no different than the Germans or the Americans. So, the derogatory term here is: The. Just like: You. As in You people are stupid.

This was an article on the use of the word “the” and ended up being an attack on the French. Guess I’m sensitive since my father met my mother during WWII, and she was French. She told me how she was treated when she came here, and how many people told her to go back where she came from. As for the article, I will continue to use the word “the” however and whenever I want.

It has been three years since COVID-19 entered the scene. It probably emerged in the previous year based on COVID antibodies found in banked blood from the fall of 2019 and a severe non-influenza respiratory illness sweeping through ICUs in the early winter of 2019. In those days it was simply called the Chinese coronavirus, based on the reported origin but we still don’t know that for sure. In fact, much of what we have been told about COVID over the past three years has turned out to be “misinformation”, as government, corporate media, and big tech described everything that went against their preferred COVID narrative. Who are the real deniers?

But Schiff, D-Calif., and Whitehouse, D-R.I., are slamming Meta for its decision, saying the former president should not be reinstated. "Based on Meta’s previous statements on standards

Riots broke out in Memphis and are rapidly spreading through the usual urban areas. The purported rationale is the horrific beating to death in Memphis of Tyre Nichols captured on video and released by the police. As Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) observes, Nichols’ beating was administered by “Black officers in a majority Black city with a Black police chief.” The officers involved have been criminally charged, but the media to which every Black killed by a cop is just proof that we are still in the Selma, Alabama world of decades ago -- another case of some innocent Black person victimized by racist oppressors. The old global world is collapsing under the impact of the war in Ukraine, the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, high energy prices, supply chain disruption, and a declining public confidence in authority. The coming year will see the demolition continue until perhaps the point is reached when it is simply easier to start over again. In the aftermath of WW2 the old colonial empires, which had lasted hundreds of years up to 1945, simply collapsed and were replaced by a bipolar world divided between the U.S. and USSR. Among the 9 people featured in the official poster are Angela Davis and Malcolm X — not Martin Luther King or Clarence Thomas, men who made America better, but a pair of thugs. Davis is the communist who in August 1970 surreptitiously armed three murder defendants which led to a shootout with the police that left the judge and the three gunmen dead. Malcolm X was an ex-convict who once was the face of the Nation of Islam, a black supremacist church. When he left it, the church sent assassins who killed him.
