South Carolina GOP Rep. Ralph Norman says that the Republicans are working on a legislative plan to shrink the size of government. "We have got to present the American people a plan," Norman said on Wednesday's edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "Financial security is national security, and we're not on a course where we can can maintain that trajectory."

Comments:

Here is my extremely simple way to "trim" the size of the federal government - - 1. Defund and eliminate all cabinet departments - - except Defense, Justice, Treasury, and State; 2. Turn over all federal lands - - outside of the District of Columbia - - to the respective states in which they are located. Voila! A "trimmed" federal government!

Always honor the 10th Amendment! If it is not an interstate concern, it belongs to the respective states. For federal legislative representation: Put Puerto Rico/etc. with Florida, Pacific Islands with Hawaii Divide Washington DC in the middle of the Potomac River.

And maybe this is the time to introduce AI to running some parts of Government. Use the Fair Tax to get rid of the IRS. But most of all we need to have the transparency in ALL Government. And ALL laws need to originate in Congress. Not the bureaucrats.

Oh goody. They're planning on having a plan. I won't hold my breath. A good first start would be to defund politicians. Cut their salaries by half.

Sorry to disagree with num two, but if a government department can be run using AI, it’s really not needed at all and should be terminated. The federal government has too much redundancy in every department which are just jobs programs for congressional districts. Cut the jobs programs and the budget will be a lot more reasonable.

None of this can happen until they trim the size of the Commiecrat majority in the Senate. And have veto-proof majorities in BOTH the House and Senate.

An easy one. Start is the number of Non-essential departments and people who get furloughed when there's no budget agreement.

decimation loyalty oaths to the United States. Summary dismissal to those who have violated an oath. Immediate decimation of federal agencies. Do not fill vacant positions. And decimate again.

We could come close to eliminating the entire national debt in ten years just by closing about six or seven government departments and closing the border. Unemployment might rise a few points, but it would be well worth it.

Vice President Kamala Harris has been eerily quiet about President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal, causing at least some Republicans to believe Harris could be angling to push Biden out of the way for a shot at the Oval Office. Though Harris has delivered several public statements since the scandal was leaked to the press on January 9, she has neither supported Biden nor condemned any wrongdoing. Her public comments during this timeframe have largely remained on script, ranging from global warming, Venn diagrams, electricity, school buses, and the southern border invasion.

The last time Harris led an event on migration was on June 7, 2022, when she announced nearly $2 billion in additional funding to address the “root causes” of migration. She has not led a migration event since and did not accompany President Joe Biden on his first trip to the border, according to a Daily Caller analysis of White House public statements.

President Joe Biden's approval rating among independents has reached an "all-time low" in one survey just before the midterm elections. The survey, from NBC News, did provide some good news for Democrats, finding that they had caught up in enthusiasm for midterm voting with Republican respondents. However, on the president's performance, ratings were decidedly sour, especially among men at 38%, white voters at 37%, rural voters at 29%, and, lowest of all, independents at 28%.

The Biden administration is facing some scrutiny over a proposal to change the way it racially/ethnically classifies federal employees. At the moment, anyone of Middle Eastern or North African descent only has the option of identifying/being classified as “white.” Were the administration’s proposal to be approved, these individuals would instead have the option of identifying as Middle Eastern or North African. The proposal would accomplish this by rewriting the Office of Management and Budget 1997 Statistical Policy Directive No. 15: Standards for Maintaining, Collecting, and Presenting Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity (SPD 15).
