Pelosi started a war Jeffries has to finish

In the days before George Washington was to set a historic precedent by taking the oath of office and becoming the first president of the United States, he was often heard to say, “I walk on untrodden ground.” The reluctant Washington no doubt understood that, as one Mount Vernon historian wrote, “the precedents he set must make the presidency powerful enough to function effectively in the national government, but at the same time these practices could not show any tendency toward monarchy or dictatorship.” He also understood that how he constructed and conducted this first presidency would set standards and practices for every president to follow.

Well, Jeffers really doesn't have to "finish" it. He can basically take the medicine that Nasty Nancy left him to deal with and then agree to again return to the precedents that were in place prior to Nancy's authoritarian reign. "No mas" would be a sufficient reply for Mr. Jeffers. But based on his screed on the night that McCarthy was elected speaker, I doubt it will happen.

Another question to ask of the other members of the Intelligence Committee. They knew Schiff was lying about having seen evidence of President Trump colluding with Putin, why didn't they speak out that that was not true? They didn't have to reveal any 'secrets' but they knew he was lying so they are accomplices to the turmoil Schiff put our country thru for 5 years.

Notice the article doesn't mention the egregious lies Schiff told the public about the committee work or the treasonous actions of Swalwell who cant even pass a security check. Both belong in prison not on the intelligence committee.

Jeffries: "I urge you to honor past practice of the House of Representatives and our mutual interest in working together for the good of the American people." What a load of hypocritical hooey, none of which happened during Pelosi's reign of terror the last two years.

Joe Biden's 2023 State of the Union is
his campaign manifesto and he's just taken
a big gamble

Joe Biden is running for president again and his second State of the Union address was his campaign manifesto headlined by the notion of "finish the job" as his rallying cry. Most Americans today, however, want Biden to finish up his job and move over for someone else. Clearly, this president has no intention of backing down from an all-out effort to stay in office even as polls show a majority of Democrats want him to stick to one term. First, let’s cover what was not in the speech. Inflation – the nation’s number one problem – got almost no mention.
IRS looks to crack down on tips 15 replies

Remember when we were told that the army of new IRS agents Biden wants to hire was only going to go after billionaires? Good times. If that’s the case, somebody should check to see if Bill Gates and Elon Musk have taken some side gigs slinging hash at a diner somewhere. (Of course, in Musk’s case it may come to that if he can’t get 10 million more people to sign up for Twitter Blue.) As it turns out, the Tax Man is launching a new program to crack down on tips received by wait staff in the food and beverage industry. That’s right.

His account was suspended on Monday night and the reason given was that the image violated the Twitter Terms of Service. How did Daines react to the news? He said, “My wife is a great shot. What can I say?”The hashtag #FreeSteveDaines was created. Some other elected officials weighed in on behalf of their friend and colleague, including Senator Ted Cruz.

On Friday, Pierre Rutledge, chair of the Black Affairs Advisory Board, issued an apology to Governor DeSantis. Days before, a member of the volunteer board called DeSantis “racist” because the governor rejected an African-American history Advanced Placement course. The College Board removed parts of the course last Wednesday that was opposed by DeSantis. The course will be reevaluated by the Florida Department of Education.DeSantis supported the Department of Education’s decision to remove the history course, because he said it pushed a political agenda. “This course on Black history, what’s one of the lessons about? Queer theory,” DeSantis said.

Last Friday, just before President Joe Biden left for another of his many long weekends away from the White House, reporters vainly asked him about the Chinese surveillance balloon that had been meandering around in U.S. airspace since Jan. 28. Our commander-in-chief offered no response beyond a smirk and a vacant stare. The “spy balloon,” as it has been dubbed by the media, is a good metaphor for the Biden administration’s foreign policy — lighter than air and potentially dangerous.

The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee is seeking testimony from FBI whistleblowers to attempt to get around the Biden administration's "stonewalling" on providing information about the investigations into former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden. The new revelation about congressional oversight on the classified documents saga is just the latest example of how Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has used whistleblowers to shed light on issues inside the FBI.Jordan and other Republicans have previously revealed that FBI whistleblowers have alleged serious flaws in how the bureau has conducted major investigations, including those related to Hunter Biden, the Capitol riot, and parental protests at school board meetings.
Trump's line of attack on DeSantis is

Donald Trump is not stupid. His opponents have always underestimated him because of the colloquial way he talks–sounding vastly different than most people in the highly educated class. Not sounding educated, they assume he isn’t and by extension isn’t smart. But in recent weeks Trump has been acting as if he is stupid, and I have to say I am surprised. Trump has been attacking Ron DeSantis on the COVID lockdown issue, arguing that the governor’s reputation as a freedom fighter is unearned. Trump even implies that DeSantis was something of a COVID fascist, while Trump himself was fighting to reopen the American economy. That is a profoundly stupid line of attack.

The pandemic sparked a restlessness in American life, with many families opting to move in search of more space or a lower cost of living. That trend continued in 2022, with hundreds of thousands of people uprooting their lives and moving to new states. But some regions are benefitting from an influx of new residents — a trend that can help those areas grow their economies and expand their tax bases — while others are witnessing a net loss of residents. About 25 U.S. states saw more people move within their boundaries last year, while about 25 states lost residents or were relatively flat,

Republicans have long said the Hunter Biden laptop scandal is really a Joe Biden story. Now, it looks like the Joe Biden classified documents scandal is also a Hunter Biden story. Two Biden scandals are merging into one. The convergence point is President Joe Biden's house in Wilmington, Delaware. The public learned in the last few weeks that Biden stored a number of classified documents there, both in his garage, famously next to his vintage Corvette, and in his personal library. How many documents? Biden will not say. His personal lawyer, Bob Bauer, released a statement saying that after a search of the house,

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Tuesday brushed off former President Trump’s latest attacks with a simple message: Check the scoreboard. Asked during a news conference about Trump’s criticism over the weekend of his approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, DeSantis responded with a reminder that he won reelection last year by the largest margin of any Republican Florida governor in the state’s modern history. “When you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions. You got to steer that ship. And the good thing is, is that the people are able to render a judgment on that — whether they reelect you or not,” DeSantis said.

During the last few years, most conservatives have become at least dimly aware that leftist ideology, in the guise of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), has infected public education. It’s unlikely, however, that many Americans realize just how far the disease has advanced. It has long since spread beyond a few courses embedded into the social studies curricula of secondary schools and elite colleges. Public school students as young as 9 and 10 years of age effortlessly recite leftist shibboleths even as they descend into functional illiteracy in reading, writing, math, and science.

Republican Rep. Has (sic) affirmative action hiring practices caused overall competence to plummet? The record appears to show exactly that. For no good reasons whatsoever, competence was allowed to die on the vine in order to give the less competent a leg up. Not equality but superiority rules the hiring, firing, and education of Americans. Worse, many of those who were affirmatively hired do not do as good a job as those whose excellence was obvious. You can see it in customer service, which for many businesses is abysmally incompetent. There is a resentful casualness in those who are hired to serve others that would not have been acceptable even two decades ago.

The early fireworks opened up a speech that typically devolves into policy lists and platitudes as the night wears on Tuesday night's prime time event featured angry exchanges between Biden and House Republicans who booed him for claiming they want to 'sunset' Social Security and Medicare. Sinema made a bold entrance into the House chamber for the speech, after forcing Washington to hold its collective breath during talks on the Inflation Reduction Act, then later announcing she had switched from Democrat to independent.
