The CDC announced Friday that it is investigating a “safety concern” linked to the use of the Pfizer Covid vaccine in seniors. “Following the availability and use of the updated (bivalent) COVID-19 vaccines, CDC’s Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD), a near real-time surveillance system, met the statistical criteria to prompt additional investigation into whether there was a safety concern for ischemic stroke in people ages 65 and older who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent,” the agency said in a statement. The issue was not reported in the Moderna version of the vaccine. “Rapid-response investigation of the signal in the VSD raised a question of whether people 65 and older

See whar you miss when you don’t read? FTA: The issue was not reported in the Moderna version of the vaccine. “Rapid-response investigation of the signal in the VSD raised a question of whether people 65 and older who have received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent were more likely to have an ischemic stroke in the 21 days following vaccination compared with days 22-44 following vaccination,” the CDC added.

Oh really, ischemic stroke and "it is very unlikely that it represents a true clinical risk" say the authorities (the CDC). Which is it? Hey Pfizer did you testing reveal this or are the real clinical trials when people take the vaccine? Hey CDC what the f#$% are you guys doing?

The article lacks specificity. What is the CDC (and perhaps the FDA) specifically looking at? It can't be just statistics, as important as they may be. Are they also looking into the mechanism of the vaccine and its delivery. Perhaps the real problem is in connection with antigen delivery, a necessary function for vaccine delivery into bodies and cells. If the problem lies there, that would mean that the vaccine itself has a flaw that would force its makers to go back to the drawing board. What should we demand? How about transparency.

To say that things are going badly at the network that created cable news is more than an understatement. It is approaching the point where hyperbole about how poorly CNN has been doing might be insufficient. Under the new ownership after the Warners-Discover merger, things have become dire. Many personalities have been dispatched (pour out some mango White Claw for Brian Stelter and Chris Cillizza…okay, pour it all out), shows and talent have been shuffled around, and they rapidly pulled the plug on the expensive debacle that was CNN+. As a sign of the tumult, it was announced last week that the network staff remaining in the CNN Center

A Georgia State Patrol trooper was shot today as police moved in to an area where protesters previously identified as domestic terrorists have been camping to prevent the construction of a new police training center. Appearing before a three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Justice Department lawyer Brian Springer argued that the CDC should have the authority to declare universal mask requirements during a public-health crisis, such as the COVID pandemic. It is necessary “to prevent the possible infections and deaths that could result if people didn’t do the simple thing of just putting on a mask while they were traveling,” Springer argued, according to Reuters.
