The opening day of the 118th Congress is poised to feature a historic fight on the House floor over who will serve as the next speaker under new Republican leadership that will put a halt to one-party rule and the Democratic agenda.
Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the House Republican leader, said he‘s ready to govern a House Republican majority that will put the brakes on President Biden’s agenda and hold the government accountable under GOP-controlled committee investigations. He’s even weighing the impeachment of top Biden administration officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Across the Capitol, Senate Democrats will keep control of the majority with 51 votes,

Good. I want a fight. I am tired of the Rino's and Democrats beating us, then asking for bipartisan surrender.

While Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell plays footsie with Chuck "Snake" Schumer. Could be that MultiUseless will write another stern letter dictated by the Snake. No doubt MultiUseless will miss Nancy "Puke" Pelosi and her DUI husband.

McCarthy is a swamp creature, making promises to the rubes that he knows are meaningless, like repealing the 80,000+ IRS agents. Like he can get that through the Senate and signed by President Dementia. If he thinks we believe him after all the Obamacare promises, he's too stupid to be Speaker.

The epic battle of Good v Evil. So far Evil has been running the table. As long as Mitch and Kevin are the shot callers, Evil wins. Elect Godly men with a Biblical world view to top leadership and watch what happens.

'No' to McCarthy. I prefer Scalise but can accept Jim Jordan. The reality is regardless who is selected within a short time it will be business as usual and really didn't matter. They are all alike.

Republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, AGAIN. It's what they do.

At least Democrats keep their in-party fights in-house and behind close doors. Republicans are coming across as unprepared to take over and do what the people elected them to do. They would, as usual, rather fight amongst themselves and get nothing done in the name of some mysterious "principal" while throwing out all principals that got them elected. They look like a bunch of unorganized fools making us wish for the steel hand of Nancy Pelosi. At least Democrats know how to handle things when they have the power. Republicans are just setting themselves up to lose again in two years over internal power struggles!

If Republicans used as much energy fighting Democrats as they are fighting against each other, they would have a very successful two years. Too bad they are too blind to see that.

The speaker should be the best man for the job, not the next in line.

Let’s hear no more appeals from anyone looking for an internecine battle over Speaker in favor of party unity.

This will not end one party rule in DC.
The Uniparty will remain, exactly as before.

It's the old Obamacare styling. We repealed it 14 times and that dam president vetoed it.
Ho hum. Business as usual. Let's investigate each other and impeach the president. That'll get the voters' attention. All incumbents good or bad OUT. Start over.

It has not been that way in my lifetime, #11. Drunk Boehner, compromised Hastert, slick school boy looking but treacherous Uniparty underneath Ryan, and next up is RINO-trained and ready Kevin McCarthy.
Jim Jordan voting McCarty. Scalise voting McCarthy.
