Legendary TV journalist Barbara Walters has died at the age of 93.
The intrepid interviewer, anchor and program host who blazed the way as the first woman to become a TV news superstar died peacefully at her New York home.
'She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists, but for all women,' her publicist Cindi Berger said in a statement. Walters made headlines in 1976 as the first female network news anchor, with an unprecedented $1 million annual salary.
Her last on-air interview was with then presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2015,

A leading story, perhaps. Certainly her network would do a retrospective on her. (Not that I'd watch it.)
But who thought she was worthy of a "we interrupt your regularly-scheduled viewing to bring you this Special Report" with some sort of "here's her fantastic life" clip? Don't know exactly what this was or how long it lasted, as I changed the channel and didn't change it back. (See comment above.)

I didn't know she was still alive.... wasn't particularly interested, either.

Much like the late, hideous Helen Thomas [side note: I was gonna wear my Helen Thomas mask for Halloween, but all my neighbors objected], Baba Wawa's contributions to the planet can be summed up in the words of Robert Hoover during the famed disciplinary hearing:
"Barbara Walters had a long history of existence, both to herself, and the community at large."
And is it too soon to talk about how she scored [so to speak] her famed interview with Senator Edward Brooke III (D-Mass) by sleeping with him? Is it?

Babs would do anything for an interview. In her 80s, she showed up braless to interview Fidel Castro.

At long last this hideous excuse for a human being is having her ultimate and eternal interview with her lord and Master, Lucifer. Next up hopefully is that human tick on our country Oprah Winfrey. Two birds of a communist feather.

Since I never watched any of her interviews or that hideous show that she spawned, my only memory of her is SNL’s brilliant portrayal of BaBa WaWa, lisp and all.

Watching the Fox News louts bend the knee and reveal their worship of BW in the minutes following the “Breaking News(!)” of her death was enlightening. Fox News is every bit as controlled by Deep State as is every other network.

I'll always remember David Letterman's quip - -
On a hot summer day in New York - - David said - - "Today iIt's 89 and sultry - - just like Barbara Walters."
Good riddance to an egotistical old bag.

In the obits I see two themes that stand out. She was a "pioneer" for women, and she was famous for her "gets," the interviews with the powerful and famous.
She didn't get those interviews by being their adversary.
And about her "trailblazing" genitals, I'm tired of that but used to it, and it surely seems to have become the model for "journalists" of all sexes.
Barbara Wawa has become a patron saint of journalists, and helped lead to a generation of d*ckless shills.

Happened to come across the news while switching channels. I didn't know if this was a replay of old news or something current since I thought Barbra Wawa died years ago. In any event, in the few minutes of coverage I watched, one would have thought that some important world figure had bitten the dust. Let's face it. Walters was the reason the term HACK came into being when that term was being applied to journalists.

Yep, #15.
Here's a memory test for everyone, along these lines. When did Mother Teresa die?
You probably don't remember because of all of the hullabaloo (worldwide and continuing to this day) when Princess died about three weeks later in August 1997.

Me, again. I can't believe that all of my brilliant Ldot friends are allowing the media once again to control the news by cherry-picking the facts that they report. There has been NO coverage of WHY she died? Not that I think there's anything suspicious about it, but, sheesh, that's a perfectly reasonable question. What would be the matter with, "Barbara Walters, a longtime TV journalist, died today of a heart attack." Or whatever. We know why Pele died; we know why the Pope died. But look at how the media covers for it's own. They will only report what they have pre-determined we the public can know. Don't hand me the "respect the family privacy" meme. It doesn't work; it was her choice to be a very visible public figure. How come SHE could ask questions but I can't?

Sad and terribly jaded people making comments about BabaWawa and Pope Benedict who tried to root out the pedopriests and lapsed Catholics to return to the Church they once knew......
There are very few journalists who had the aura of integrity Walters had these days. Walter Chronkite was a liberal, but did not parade it around. She outlived her prime years....
