McCarthy: ‘The Very First Day, the First

Friday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy teased Congress’ immediate upcoming actions to start 2023. First up, according to the California Republican, after electing the Speaker of the House was to repeal the 87,000 IRS agents provision passed by Congress earlier this year. “Great question – the first thing we have to do is elect our Speaker. We can’t do anything until we elect that Speaker,” he said. “And if you watch, the White House is actually pushing back on our investigations, saying we’re not going to give you anything till you get this solved.

Hey Kevin, the very first thing I'm going to do this year is call my congressman and tell him to be sure you don't become speaker.

It has been 2,190 days since the Republican Party told us they were going to repeal Obamacare the very first day. The Senate has recused the House, and written the 2023 budget, signed by the Congress and the Executive, so McCarthy, even if Speaker, has no power to repeal the new IRS agents. If a McCarthy Speaker did hold such power, he could also repeal the new FBI HQ, all the government pay raises, the money to Ukraine and the Palestinians, the allocation to climate change, and all the other 1.7 Trillion, all the first day.

No. First release all J6 political prisoners. THEN, fire the arses of all new IRS, and most old IRS, agents. After that, close the freaking borders. Then, reopen Keystone and the other pipelines so we can get our economy back on track. Then ban all CRT, DEI, SEL, ESG from everywhere in the entire country. After that, ban any gender, sex, drag stuff from every school until the last year of high school. And if you REALLY want to cheese off the Left, bring prayers and the national anthem back to K-12.

Your only task is to investigate the shite of the J6 Committee including Nasty Nancy and her role and get those in the DC jail released. Find out her role in the charade that is J6. Politics runs on boob bait. McCarthy is just not a master of boob bait beyond the classic appeal to "patriotism". I'm still waiting for anyone in the House to actually identify a purpose for being there, a reason for being there besides not being "commie Dems". McCarty, Gaetz or anyone else has no agenda, no concept of one. And that's a bigger issue than who will be Speaker. The House originates spending and revenue bills. That's plenty of power in the hands of a strong Speaker leading a majority, no matter how small. And then we come back to that RINO in the room...the UNIPARTY.

I guess the wimpy congressional Republicans can vote to repeal the leftist Democrat appropriations relating to hiring 87,000 new IRS agents, who will most likely be Democrat supporters and voters. But will enough wimpy establishment Republicans, who are hamstrung with RINOS, actually have enough votes to do that? Even if they do, the bill would have to be passed by the leftist Democrat controlled Senate, which also has about ten RINOS who are pretending to be wimpy establishment Republicans. Following that, if the bill were to somehow pass the Senate, it would have to be sent for presidential signature to “the big guy” Biden who is sitting there in the White House under the control of the extreme progressive Democrats, with a grin on his face, and a veto pen in his hand. So, just maybe, McCarthy is dreaming about the chances of such an appropriation repeal ever actually becoming law in the next two years. Beyond that, Biden most probably as long as he is President, will veto all wimpy establishment bills unless they are loaded down with progressive Democrat favored pork.

While it is possible to get rid of those thousands of agents it will be difficult. It would take every Republican representative to vote for it and we know how weak Republicans can be. Even if passed by the House, the Senate is unlikely to go along. The House, as the source of spending, would then have to wield the threat of a government shutdown to get the Senate and ultimately Biden on board. Such was done by Newt Gingrich with welfare reform. The Senate and Clinton were pressured to get on board. I wasn’t paying attention to politics back then but I think the government was shutdown during the process. Is McCarthy as strong and committed as Gingrich? I have my doubts. I am pretty sure though that the public, when asked whether they prefer a so-called government shutdown to getting rid of IRS agents, would side with McCarthy.

McCarthy may desire with all his heart to repeal the 87,000 IRS agent, but I can see no way he can do this. The House is the only part of government. Even if, by some miracle, the Senate can come up with 51 votes in support, Biden would veto the bill. There is no way that either the House or Senate have the votes to override a veto. McCarthy should know this. So the BS meter is pegging off scale. The very rich will not be touched by these 87,000 IRS agents, because the can afford the high priced accounts and lawyers to fight them off. NO, they will go after the hard working middle class who haven’t the means to fight them off. And, unlike in a murder trial, you are assumed to be guilty and must prove you are innocent.

Republican Kevin McCarthy has been elected as the new US Speaker after winning the 15th vote following chaotic scenes in Congress. Mr McCarthy's party had taken control of the House – the US lower chamber – following the midterm elections in the autumn, with a slim 222-212 majority. Usually, election of the Speaker follows seamlessly, as a formality, with the leader of the largest party a shoo-in for the job. However, recent splits in the Republican party meant that did not happen until the 15th round of voting. In the 14th ballot, Mr McCarthy received 216 votes - one shy of the number needed for a victory - as a small faction

President Joe Biden congratulated House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on being elected to the position Saturday, saying he is ready to work across the aisle in a divided government. “The American people expect their leaders to govern in a way that puts their needs above all else, and that is what we need to do now,” Biden said in a statement, congratulating him on his speakership. “As I said after the midterms, I am prepared to work with Republicans when I can and voters made clear that they expect Republicans to be prepared to work with me as well,” he added. “Now that the leadership of the House of Representatives has been decided,

Sometimes, these articles almost write themselves. Or, due to hypocrisy, dishonesty, or unintentional humor, many stories beg to be covered. This is one of them, and the cast is perfect: an ex-Republican congressman, MSNBC, and the Democrat-weaponized FBI — with the CIA tossed in as a bonus. Our tale begins with Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie’s revelation that now-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy agreed, as part of a deal with GOP lawmakers opposed to his speakership bid, to the formation of a committee modeled after the 1975 Senate Select Committee, formed by Senator Frank Church, which investigated abuses by the CIA, FBI, National Security Agency, and the IRS,

Has Barack Obama gone from ex-president to Democrat party crime boss? It sure looks like it, based on a new report about his treatment of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Investigative reporter Lee Smith has got a stunning report that ran this week in Tablet, comparable in impact to that report by Molly Ball at Time who wrote about how elites conspired to "fortify democracy" by rigging the election against President Trump in 2020 and afterwards thought it was a smart thing to crow about. Smith's report beginns with how the FBI "hacked" Twitter, not just engaging in a "master-canine" relationship as Twitter files

A former British officer criticized Prince Harry’s characterization of his time with the military as "ill-judged" and said it "doesn’t reflect reality." "That’s not the case at all, and it's not the way the British Army trains people as he claims," Col. Richard Kemp, former British Army officer, said during an appearance on BBC Breakfast. "I think that sort of comment that doesn't reflect reality, is misleading and potentially valuable to those people who wish the British forces and British government harm, so I think it was an error of judgment." Kemp, who commanded U.K. forces in Afghanistan in 2003, clarified his comments to Fox News Digital

Burger chain McDonald’s said Friday that it will review corporate staffing levels and aim to build more restaurants as part of an updated business strategy. The new plan, announced in a letter from Chief Executive Officer Chris Kempczinski to global employees and seen by Reuters, calls for the Chicago-based company to cancel or “de-prioritize” some initiatives while also accelerating development. That could lead to layoffs in some areas and expansion in others, the company said.
