President Joe Biden granted federal employees a raise as inflationary pressures and labor shortages pinch the bureaucracy.
According to an executive order that will take effect on January 1, federal employees will receive an overall pay raise of 4.1%, as well as an average locality-based pay raise of 0.5%, indicating that some 2.1 million federal employees will receive average raises of 4.6%. Biden announced the raise four months ago in a letter sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Vice President Kamala Harris, which cited recruitment and retention problems.

The homeless adopted daughter of Major League Baseball (MLB) legend Dennis Eckersley allegedly gave birth to her baby in a freezing tent, before leading police to the wrong spot to find the infant struggling to breathe.
Police responded to a woman who gave birth to a baby in a tent in the woods near the West Side Arena in Manchester just before 1am, authorities said in a statement to Facebook.
The woman, identified as Alexandra Eckersley, 26, is said to have initially directed authorities to an area of the woods where they searched but could not locate the child.
About an hour later, police allegedly found the baby uncovered and 'struggling to breathe'

As we reported earlier, the Supreme Court dealt a blow to Joe Biden’s effort to get rid of Title 42. The Court ruled in favor of 19 Republican attorneys general and against the Biden administration, to keep Title 42 temporarily to be able to expel asylum seekers based on the COVID health emergency. It also set oral arguments in the case for February and they anticipate making a final decision on the matter in June.
Many people on the right were relieved that that would put on hold an even greater influx of illegal aliens into the country, although they thought that the Biden administration should be dealing with the problem

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released more than 150,000 border crossers and illegal aliens, without a Notice to Appear (NTA) in immigration court, into the United States in the summer of 2021, bombshell footage reveals.
As part of a lawsuit against Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody obtained internal DHS footage revealing the extent to which the agency released hundreds of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior without court dates.
In particular, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official can be heard telling agents that more than 150,000 border crossers and illegal aliens were released into the U.S. interior

Maricopa County Election Director Scott Jarrett likely perjured himself in a court of law by lying about the ballot printer settings that caused tabulation failures and disenfranchised thousands of election day voters.
Jarrett testified under oath during Kari Lake’s historic election contest trial against Democrat Katie Hobbs and the Maricopa County election officials.
On Election Day in Maricopa County, over 50% of tabulators and printers failed the moment that polls opened, causing voters to be turned away from the polls and creating long wait times of four hours or more.

As I described last week, the crisis at the border is about to get dramatically worse. There are tens of thousands of people waiting in camps on the Mexican side of the border for the end of Title 42. Whenever that happens, estimates suggest there could be 12,000 to 14,000 arrivals at the border per day. Meanwhile, the Biden administration has no coherent plan to deal with it.
Through all of this, Joe Biden has remained consistently on the sidelines. His refusal to go to the border to see the crisis he helped create up close has become a point of perverse pride. And the media, naturally, has sided with Biden.

The Supreme Court ruled by a 5-4 vote to keep Title 42 in place just hours ahead of its planned midnight Wednesday end.
The Covid-era public health policy that allows border agents to immediately expel migrants will now remain in place until legal battles involving its end play out in court.
Agents will now be able to use the policy to expel border crossers for at least the next several months, leaving an onslaught of migrants who were expected to rush the U.S.-Mexico border after Title 42 was lifted in limbo.

Twitter head Elon Musk had some more to say on Tuesday about the reach to which the censorship by the government went.
We saw with the release of the last Twitter files the pressure that the Biden administration was putting on Twitter to de-platform people over things like COVID. That of course is a constitutional problem when the government is suppressing speech. You’re no longer just talking about Twitter being a private company when they are acting at the direction or because of pressure from the government.
But, as we reported, it wasn’t just Twitter that the government was putting pressure on.

WASHINGTON, DC – The Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether states can ask courts to preserve Title 42 border safeguards when the Biden administration tries to let the policy die, voting on Tuesday to leave the Trump-era policy in place until it hands down a decision in the case by early summer 2023.
Title 42 allows federal agents to turn away illegal aliens immediately without taking them into custody if the agent believes the alien might have Covid-19. Even though the number of illegal crossings is at an all-time high, the numbers at the border would be up to double their current levels without that policy in place.

A gaping hole cut into the border fence between Mexico and the US reveals the ease at which migrants can cross the border illegally - regardless of the strict Title 42 rules.
On a stretch of the border fence just four miles from downtown El Paso, Texas, traffickers cut the large opening close to a row of abandoned buildings.
The makeshift crossing point, beside the US-85 highway, was discovered by DailyMail.com just one hour after the Supreme Court ruled Title 42 will remain in effect. The 4ft-by-4ft hole appeared freshly cut - suggesting it had been used by migrants to cross illegally on Tuesday.

Despite issues with voting machines and questions about the chain of custody of ballots, the judge in the case said the Lake campaign did not meet the legal threshold needed to provide any remedy. The decision comes about a week after Chief Justice John Roberts stayed a lower-court order that would have ended the pandemic-era policy on December 21. Title 42 allows for asylum-seekers at the border to be expelled to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
On Tuesday, the court agreed to keep that pause in place, granting an emergency request by 19 Republican attorneys general who warned that allowing Title 42 to expire would lead to an explosion of illegal immigrants

Most likely voters believe Congress should investigate to see if the FBI was involved in social media censorship, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday found.
The survey found most, 46 percent, expressing an unfavorable view of the FBI, compared to half who have at least a “somewhat” favorable view. However, most Republicans and independents, 62 percent and 55 percent, respectively, have an unfavorable view.
When asked if it is likely that the FBI actively “encouraged social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to ‘suppress, silence, or reduce the reach of certain political speech and speakers,’” 63 percent said it is likely, and of those, 43 percent said “very” likely.

The most interesting politician to watch in 2023 will not be Donald Trump or Joe Biden, and it won’t be upstarts Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) or Minority Leader-elect Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), nor retreads such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) or Mitt Romney (R-UT).
Instead, the pol to keep an eye on is Republican Sen. Tim Scott (SC). The question of what he decides to do in 2023, and how, is the wild card with the most significantly wide-ranging ramifications for the rest of this decade’s national politics.
This is, of course, a prediction, not a guarantee. Still, it’s a pretty solid bet.

We are all Americans. That said, there have been efforts for years to divide us for perceived political reasons. Those who live in the bigger cities often tend to look down their noses to those who don't. We have become a Blue America and a Red America. I personally believe that the colors are reversed, but maybe that's just me. A good representation of red vs. blue can be seen on the 2020 election map by counties.
It has gotten so bad that there are discussions of secession and even civil war, God forbid. It would be difficult to have states against states. The real conflict appears to be larger cities versus the rest of America.

All across America, families of service members — those fortunate their family member returned home and those whose family member tragically did not — will leave a place setting at their holiday table for those who never came home.
For many, it is a solemn reminder of sacrifice and loss, but for many more, the empty place setting also sparks great memories and, ultimately, great stories. The ultimate fear among soldiers who went off to fight for their country, explains retired Army Capt. Tyler Merritt, is that their sacrifice and service will be forgotten as time fades or dismissed as society's attitudes turn on the reason they were sent into battle.

The script is sickeningly familiar by now, isn’t it? Establishment Republicans -- led throughout the ’22 elections and in their aftermath by the notorious Kentucky senator-for-life Mitch McConnell -- betrayed their party’s base, which is staunchly conservative, increasingly in an America First sorta way.
Yes, lest one is confused because of all the serial betrayals, we’re referring to the gross obscenity called the “$1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill.” For true-blue conservatives, the brazen middle-finger thrust rudely into their faces by McConnell and seventeen other Senate go-alongs should be an act of war. Donald Trump's tax returns will be made public at midday after a nearly four-year-long fight that saw the former president fight tooth-and-nail to shield his financial statements from public view.
The Democrat-controlled House Ways and Means Committee voted last Tuesday evening to release the returns, in a debate that lasted more than three hours behind closed doors.
The final vote was 24 to 16. All Democrats voted in favor of the action while all Republicans on the panel voted against.
Six years' worth of Trump's most recent tax returns will be covered, as well as documents from eight of his businesses. They will be partially-redacted.

Deadly blizzard conditions in upstate New York gave cover to local looters over the weekend as they robbed businesses while police were stuck elsewhere.
“I don’t know how these people can even live with themselves, how they can look at themselves in the mirror,” Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown raged to reporters Monday.
“They are the ‘lowest of the low,” Brown said of the opportunistic crooks.
Some businesses had their windows smashed and merchandise damaged and stolen as snow and ice pummeled the region, local TV station WRGZ reported.

For Hollywood, 2022 was truly an annus horribilis.
Major studios, streamers, cable providers, and other media giants lost a combined $542 billion in market value in 2022, with left-wing studios the Walt Disney Co., Netflix, and Comcast accounting for the bulk of the bloodshed.
The Dow Jones Media Titans index, which tracks the performance of 30 of the world’s biggest media companies, shed 40 percent this year, with its total market value declining from $1.35 trillion to $808 billion, according to a Financial Times report.
The losses outpaced indices for other sectors, including banking, which saw a 14.5 percent drop for the year, and telecommunications, which fell by 11.2 percent.

Merry Christmas, RedStaters! Here’s a nice holiday story for ya that doesn’t involve Biden, Putin, Pelosi, or Schumer. Instead, it centers around two great American creatures: men and horses, and it involves good friends, teamwork, persistence, and bravery.
Here we go: a 1,200-pound horse escaped from its Wisconsin barn, found its way onto a frozen lake—and promptly fell through the ice. Known as “Big Wood Lake,” the site is known for its bass fishing, and I’m just going to have to flat-out steal borrow this line from CBS News: “but there’s never been a catch like this.”

Does Joe Biden ever work?
It seems like he’s always off on vacation. I think the last time we checked, he’d already taken more vacation than any of his recent predecessors at this point in his term in office. He’d spent about 40 percent of his time in office on vacation, we noted in November. That was even before his Thanksgiving vacation. At this point, the question isn’t when he’s on vacation, it’s when he isn’t on vacation.
Yet, when he’s presented with the massive crisis at the border and whether he will ever be visiting the border, he responds that he doesn’t have time, he’s just so busy,

Do I need to explain this story in detail? I’m sure you can guess why a bail reform group had to close its operations in California: the people they were setting free decided to continue their life of crime. The last straw was this latest person they had sprung from jail who proceeded to shoot a server eleven times. Shocker—a career criminal, gets his bail posted by these clowns and proceeds to shoot up a restaurant. Now, who couldn’t have seen that coming? The group, The Bail Project, has some solid celebrity support behind it as well, so another added layer for why this operation decided to close

After four years of legislative malfeasance by Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic myrmidons, the Republicans will soon have a 222–213 majority in the House of Representatives. It should be obvious to the meanest intelligence that, to accomplish anything useful with such a narrow majority, the House Republican Conference has to close ranks and prepare for a war with a radicalized Democratic minority that will continue its ongoing effort to undermine the will of the voters.
